  1. Chalk 3 up to the YES tally - myself, Mrs B, and #1 son. They also said we could vote for no more than 3 candidates in the council election - but out of 5 on the list 3 were Tory & 1 UKIP, so I only placed one X, and not for any of these.

    Ppi

Didn't take any PPI when I got my loans, can I still appeal on the basis it would have been mis-sold if I had ?
  3. Shouldn't they then be supporting a more proportional system ?
  4. Blackpool - I get a 'home' game West Ham - AG relegated again - LOL Wolves - they are nowhere near as good as McCarthy thinks they are, and I don''t think they would be promotion contenders in the Championship.
  5. Frank's Cousin - Anybody voting NO gets the system they deserve, and has no right to ever again complain about an election result.
  6. Axis of Awesome - "4 chord song"
  7. Because it would p1ss Dunce off !

  10. Watched TT3D on Sunday, a documentary about the build up to last year's Isle of Man TT races, generally concentrating on Guy Martin but including Connor Cummins, Ian Hutchinson, and John McGuinness, amongst others. Even for an armchair bike racing fan this is a must see - if only for the last 20 minutes.
  11. Do they still charge a penny ?
  12. If I did you wouldn't get one. We are currently 'co located' with the Primary Care Trust.
  13. Ssssssh, they can't handle the truth.
  14. Everybody that disagrees with dunce is wrong, HTH !
  15. Bit miffed that PNE are down, now need Blackpool to go down to get a 'local' match. ( Can't get more local, I'm currently based at Bloomfield Road ). Just glad to be on the way up again.
  16. AV is not 'truly democratic', nor is it the system I would prefer - that is Single Transferable Vote, which is far more democratic and proportional. However, we are not having a referendum on adopting PR, we are being offered AV as an alternative to FPTP, therefore AV gets my vote as it is better than what we have, but is far from being what I would choose, ( I view it as nothing more than the first step to a properly accountable system ). The controlling faction in the coalition, the Tories, had to offer a referendum on the electoral system as a condition of the LDs joining them, but they have flexed their muscles and forced the LDs to accept a far weaker motion than they would themselves have ever chosen. The LDs were backed into a corner and have found themselves pushing for a system most of their members would never have asked for.
  17. It'll take a similar time to sort out the mess the Casino Capitalists dumped on the world's financial systems.
  18. Also cannot be ( or be married to ) a catholic.
  19. I don't see why; the low turnout, which will probably lead to a NO vote, will merely confirm the apathy with which the majority view the current political scene. The amount of effort being expended by the Tories, and many Labour 'big guns', in support of the NO campaign shows their own insecurity with the concept of having to be truly democratic, and also the very low opinion they hold of the electorate in general.
  20. As opposed to the entirely clear, honest, and truthful analagies on the 'baby' and 'flak jacket' posters.
  21. And Edward VIII nearly blew it.
  22. YES YES Notre Dame, the Acropolis, The Vatican, the Winter Palace, ( have YOU ever been to Vienna ? ) Go back far enough and you find King John.
  23. But these other countries have plenty of 'history', the characteristic that was proposed as the reason for retaining inherited obsequiance.
