I like the concept of this in that the Markus picture is great with the scarf and the famous wave. The colours look good too and there is good positioning of the club emblem. But I'd just have the name Markus, not on the slant, drop the halo, and again not on the slant, the word "Danke!" By doing it that way, the picture of Markus could be increased in size a bit.

No St Mary's multi ball system in 2011/12
Wes Tender replied to Matthew Le God's topic in The Saints
How stupid. So the ball goes into row Z and the game is delayed until it is returned. So the home team gained an advantage under the multi-ball system, but only if they drill their ball-boys to return it quickly to their players and slowly to the opposition. And then the other team gains the advantage on the return fixture, evening things out. What a load of tossers we have running the game, from the biggest one of all, Blatter, all the way down. -
I come into this a bit late, but thought it worth adding my name to those who are saddened by the banning of the cleverest humourist on this forum. I am also saddened that some people are so precious that they might take offence at his biting wit when it found its target; that was often those who took themselves too seriously. An injection of some levity is not a bad thing and made the forum more rounded for his contributions. It's a much duller place since his departure and if others decide to go elsewhere to other forums, then the penalty served on Deppo will have been to an extent self-defeating if the object of it was to make money by attracting members. In short, the mods have shot themselves in the foot. Having read most of the thread, it appears that there is pretty well only one person who seems to think that the banning was a good idea. I wonder whether the mods are big enough to reconsider their decision in light of the fact that most members object to it?

Great! Deppo is alive and well and has contributed two posts in answer to the thick Skate "pompeymorris" on that American newspaper http://www.postandcourier.com/news/2011/jun/16/battery-soccerbattery-to-host-englands-portsmouth/

Further to my post 40059, It seems that a Skate has had his nose put out of joint by my remark that Bolton are a much larger club than the Skates I've responded to this typically thick Skate, but perhaps others might like to put the record straight too. Did I imagine it, or did the Skates not use up their allocation for the FA Cup semi-final either?

The amusement continues, with details of a fixture they have lined up in the good ole U S of A. The local rag states http://www.postandcourier.com/news/2011/jun/16/battery-soccerbattery-to-host-englands-portsmouth/ Naturally I couldn't resist correcting their idiotic assertion. Perhaps others might like to do the same.

What tosh! Players sign for clubs for a number of reasons. What has more to do with it than most, is the enticement that a player signing for a Championship club might be playing for a Premiership side in the near future. From that perspective, we are probably the better prospect than Brighton. We are also the wealthier club in terms of ownership, so we have financial and no question marks over our security and ability to pay fees and wages. Then add in other factors like the support, infrastructure like training facilities, stadium, etc and we are by far the better proposition than Brighton, or indeed most other clubs in this division.

Did they say whether this illness was mental or physical?

Get your facts right. The age to qualify for a bus pass is 60. That is also the age for receiving the Winter heating allowance too, as well as many other allowances given by other organisations.
-
So you're closer to the nearly alive bracket, I take it? Ink hardly dried on your birth certificate? I'm another affected by this change to having to pay more as a senior.

You can book a minibus tour of Niagara, including the vineyards where they produce the ice wine (very nice, but expensive), Niagara and Niagara on the Lake. It's a very good day out and beautiful all around there. Vancouver, Victoria on Vancouver Island is a must, the ferry trip over there is spectacular for scenery, with all the islands on the way.
-
That would be a great experience. Both Toronto and Vancouver are superb cities and the Canucks are lovely people too.

We used to drive down there practically every year during the school holidays, as my grandmother was Austrian and lived near Villach, so we know it well. It is a beautiful area, with fabulous scenery and plenty to do and see. We'll probably buy the Kaerntner Card, which gives either free entry or well reduced prices to a large number of attractions and will save us a fortune. Trips to Lake Bled, Venice, Innsbruk, Salzburg are all do-able for day trips. Not as far as I know. I suppose it depends on what you are buying. I was amazed how much cheaper property there is compared to the countries around it and here. On a comparison of a shopping basket of goods, places like Switzerland, Norway, Sweden and Ireland came out more expensive. We will have a two bedroom apartment in a quaint village, costing just £425 per week. The single bedroom apartments cost just £225 per week. That's not dear in my opinion. Yes, most sunshine hours of any part of Austria, where temperatures can range between 30-40 degrees. There are lakes near where we're staying, where the water temperature is typically 27 degrees. The lake water is crystal clear and good for swimming and watersports. There a bathing establishments around most of the larger lakes like the Worthersee, Ossiarchersee, Millstatersee, etc. Over 200 lakes all in all.

We don't have "rumors" in this country; they are what the Yanks have, along with valor, honor, labor, etc. The Yanks are very non-U But in line with the thread, the first team in English league football to consist entirely of non-English players, was Chelski, playing at the Dell. They were welcomed by that lovable scamp Dennis Rofe, who said hello to them in all of their various languages.

Millwall and Burnley plotting swoop for Saints' Seaborne
Wes Tender replied to Wes Tender's topic in The Saints
What about the Wally Downes connection? How would he know whether Burnley or Millwall were after him? Seaborne was a Pardew signing and maybe Downes still talks to him. But otherwise could there be an element of sh*t-stirring because Downes and Pardew left under strained circumstances? I too believe that we could pick up a CB who is better than Seaborne, so it doesn't bother me unduly whether this rumour is true or not. However I do find it interesting that two teams relatively near to the upper end of the division are supposed to be interested in him and also IMO if we didn't wish to sell him, I would have thought that he would consider us to be the better longer term prospect for his career, provided that he was part of Adkins' plans. -
Millwall and Burnley plotting swoop for Saints' Seaborne
Wes Tender replied to Wes Tender's topic in The Saints
Interesting that teams that finished 8th and 9th last season may be after one of our players. But Seaborne played for us 28 times last season and surely if he is progressing, his chances will increase as competitors for the CB position like Jaidi get older or can't play as often because of injuries. Ultimately, he might consider that we offer the better chance of Premiership football than either Millwall or Burnley, unless as I say, he feels that his future prospects with us for are not good for some reason. -
Can't see this anywhere on here. According to this http://www.talksport.co.uk/sports-news/football/football-league/8045/7/millwall-and-burnley-plotting-swoop-saints-seaborne Millwall and Burnley are after Seaborne. Interestingly, the supposed source seems to be a certain Wally Downes. But why would Seaborne leave us for other clubs in the same division, unless he feels that he doesn't have a future with us?
-
But Chambo's price tag is based on the laws of supply and demand. The top clubs in the Premiership all want to buy him. The man is an imbecile, a sort of glorified car salesman type. It's a pity that they didn't get promotion, so that we can stuff them twice again and put some dents in Mitchell's ego again.
-
This isn't a problem, Gemmel. The new owners will arrange a meeting with Gayman and the Balu and a couple of their well built and menacing associates will be present. They'll inform the two of them that it might be a good idea, (for the welfare of their respective families), to relinquish control of the charges on the club and the land surrounding it. Just to emphasise the point, the chunky associates will show them their weapons. Problem solved.
-
So Lambert scores 29 goals for Bristol Rovers in the season before he came here and he's worth £1 million, but if Ings scored 20 goals, he'd be worth £2 million. Yeah, right, Mitchell, you idiot. You might fool yourself by thinking that, but you're not fooling anybody else, but making yourself look a fool instead. Who are these several other players worth a million, I wonder?

Yes, as soon as the circumstances of his death became known, Conservative chances of holding the seat were considerably diminished, in much the same way that in Winchester, the Lib Dems lost control in the aftermath of Mark Oaten's sex scandal. But as you say, the fallout of Milligan's by-election meant that the Lib-Dems, already powerful on the EBC, gained and held the seat for a number of years, but have a thin majority that will easily be overturned because of the perceived misdemeanours of Huhne.
-
Surely you'd be OK parking in any of the roads off Glen Eyre Road?
-
Get your facts right. There was no evidence of any drug-taking at the autopsy. As for the actual cause of death, there is even speculation by a conspiracy theory that he might have been murdered. http://www.newsmedianews.com/milligan.shtml But even if he killed himself because of a strange sexual ritual, had he not died, we would have been none the wiser about it. Are we all on here models of virtue, faithfully indulging in straight missionary position sex with the same partner, never indulging in anything extra marital, heaven forbid having to pay for it? Does it really matter what these politicos do, so long as they don’t do it in the streets and frighten the horses? Having read over the years about the sexual proclivities of various politicos like Jeremy Thorpe, Ron Davies and even closer to home, Mark Oaten, nothing much surprises me any more. With regard to Huhne, there are now three separate reasons why the Eastleigh Electorate might decide that they do not wish to vote for him, either if there were to be a by-election or at the next general election. He made a lot about how he was a family man, yet was having an affair at the time of the last election. There are these allegations that he was caught speeding and got somebody else to take the points hit. He is accused of irregularities regarding his election expenses. Now, some of these things might be true and some not. But all the electorate will see, is a lot of mud being thrown in his direction and some of it is bound to stick. He is damaged goods for the Lib Dems and even if he proves his innocence over the speeding or election expenses allegations, he will lose the seat at the next election From what I have seen of her and having met her a couple of times, I very much doubt that Maria Hutchings will be found to have any of these failings.
