  1. Fair enough, Frank. But people ought to get their facts right before levelling criticism against the various protagonists in this soap opera, which RinNy failed to do. Lowe's failings are well documented, mainly because they are many. What has Mary Corbett done that merits much comment? Her right to criticise comes through her family's shareholdings, which are equivalent to those held by the Chairman who is the individual most accountable and responsible for our current demise. If you'd care to point out her failings, go ahead. But as proportionately they are insignificant compared to those of Lowe, Wilde and Crouch, Askham and other charlatans, then understandably they ought not to receive as much debate as the others mentioned.
  2. I'd need way more information than what you have said above before forming a realistic opinion on this. As it stands, Crouch pays out £6 million, but what does Lowe and Wilde "walking away" entail? What does it achieve if they still have voting rights with their shares? If there were some legal way of removing voting rights to them, then perhaps it might look better, otherwise nothing to stop Lowe and Wilde proxying them to their toadies. Noboby has provided any information yet to address my comment that Lowe has an agreement with said toadies that he would not sell his shares unless they all got the same price for theirs. What happens about that?
  3. I don't think RinNy is a plant and he usually posts very sensible points of view. In this instance though, his criticism of Mary's judgement is faulty because she had very little to do with the financial side of running the club, or other decisions that resulted in our current parlous state.
  4. So why would Crouch accept that? He parts with his dosh and Lowe's cabal can still outvote him whenever they want? It's a really stupid plan as it stands. I'd like to see all the details before passing judgment, but as it stands it seems a ridiculous arrangement.
  5. The reporters, if they are doing their job's properly, will seek several interviews, expressing different viewpoints. Unless they are in Lowe's pocket, their Editor will wish to have a variety of independent views. Some will be articulate and well expressed, as it is wrong to suggest like Rupert does that the fan base is made up of Neanderthals. Other comments might be a little less refined in the way that they are put across, but as long as they show passion and honesty from ordinary fans, what's the problem there?
  6. RinNY fails to realise that Mary was only on the Football board as far as I'm aware, so his assertion that her judgement on how to run the club is well wide of the mark. It is the PLC board that have the power and influence to make the decisions that matter, not the football board.
  7. Lowe has fallen a long way, as have we under his stewardship. He used to state for all to hear that if someboby were to stump up £25 million, he would move aside as chairman. Now it would only take £6 million for the both of them. Mind you, when he used to spout that drivel, we were in the Premiership and most used to mistakenly believe his shareholding to be 75% or so. Now everybody but the least informed knows that he has under 6%. I'd keep your cash in the bank, Leon. We'll get rid of the leeches by campaigns and boycotts and you can then use the £6 million on players. Anyway, I thought that Lowe had a pact with his cronies that he wouldn't sell his shares unless they all got the same price for theirs. Does this deal include them too?
  8. It really is quite easy to make the differentiation between what he ought to be doing as Chairman and what he ought not to be doing. As Chairman, he ought to keep his nose out of team selection and tactics which should be the preserve of the manager. His domain should be the hiring and firing of managers and coaches and the day to day running of the club. Simple really. You have only become confused because he has blurred the demarcation lines.
  9. Exactly in line with Lowe's strategy with Pearson. Agreed that it would be hypocritical to sack Wotte having condemned Lowe for doing that to Pearson, but then what's sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander, eh? Why should Lowe complain if people follow his crassly stupid example and come to that, why should the Lowe apologists complain either, as they have been a little quiet when it comes to criticising what he did. What I'd like to know though, is whether having sacked JP (nobody believes that he left voluntarily, he was pushed) How many more mistakes is Lowe entitled to make with his further appointments before he finally falls on his sword? If Wotte gets us relegated, does Lowe take all the blame, is the more pertinent question to ask now.
  10. I'm sure that when we achieve greatness along the lines that Liverpool enjoy, the stadium will certainly be full of the loudest, happiest fans in the land. We gained massive praise for our support at Cardiff in 03. We also gave very creditable support as recently as the last day of last season. I reckon that when we've got something to cheer about, we will. At the moment we have very little to cheer about, not even a manager in the Shankly mould who knew what he was about.
  11. That's why they're crap.
  12. We do have some crap fans............and they sit in the Director's box
  13. Yes, they do all have their faults, but that is why I called for some balance from you, not some one-sided rewriting of past history.
  14. In the interests of balance, I eagerly await your diatribe against Lowe and the damage that he has done to the club over the past decade, with special focus on the club's parlous situation since his return in league with the Quisling who you disparage in your comments above. I don't see you holding him to account for anything, although that is possibly because you have selective amnesia.
  15. Apart from the financial impact of course, which is the deadliest weapon in the fans' arsenal. We are long past the stage of mini demonstrations and changes of management to appoint subordinates from within won't wash for most either. The stage has already been reached that even the Lowe apologists have given up on him and the bizarre experiment. The mood is now clearly to get rid of Lowe and Wilde and the simplest way to achieve that is the mass boycott. Its time has come.
  16. First a truly ridiculous analogy, followed by an inference that those who might support the return the return of Crouch must be senile. You're really excelling yourself today, JFPs.
  17. It isn't Terry Cooper's son, it's Tommy Cooper's son. Lowe was hoping that he might have inherited the genes for pulling rabbits out of the hat - just like that.
  18. Throughout his career, he's mostly been a 1 in five scorer, except for a short spell of 1 in 4 goals. Not exactly setting the world alight. But who knows, he might gel with Saganowski or McGoldrick and surprise everybody. But I doubt it.
  19. You forgot the third option which would apply, even if the other two were overcome; neither of them would be able to work with Lowe, as they have minds of their own and wouldn't brook interference from him.
  20. Please don't tell us what we do or do not want to do. You are entitled to your opinion as to what the marches or boycotts will or won't achieve, but it is only your opinion. You just carry on going your own sweet way and leave it to others to take action to rid the club of those who are ruining it. You obviously do not have the imagination to realise that there are other alternatives to Lowe running the club, so you just remain in your cosy little world as the club disappears down the pan whilst others attempt to save it on your behalf.
  21. When Burley left and Dodd and Gorman took over, we made a bad mistake and it nearly took us down. Are we to make the same mistake again, but this time with not enough time to turn things around if it goes horribly wrong? We need somebody experienced in this situation and this division and we need them now.
  22. Sam Green in the Telegraph, following Swansea's defeat of the Skates:- So what are your thoughts about that then, Prof? Perhaps we haven't been giving the team enough stick.
  23. Wes Tender: Not quite.
