  1. Best night at the football I've had, I think. Never heard St Marys like that before, place was bouncing. Every player to a man put in a superb shift. Genuinely couldn't pick a man of the match. Perfect tactics from Tonda. Core memory unlocked, that. Only time I heard Arsenal was when they scored, yet saw some clips on the telly just now and the mics were clearly all at the arsenal end. Ref had a stinker, though, and getting out the ground was horrendous. Almost has a crush going on behind the Northam at times. Never known that before.
  2. Think some people are forgetting it's a bit of fun to raise money for a good cause.
  3. I'm a good-goal barrier. If I go to a game, nobody ever scores a wonder goal. The first game my kids went to without me was the WBA game in 2023 with Rothwell's thunderbolt. Closest I've had was Djenepo's long ranger against Citeh during the Nathan Jones 2-0 masterclass.
  4. I think that's harsh, to be honest. Norwich are no mugs, they stepped up a gear in the second half and we battled out a clean sheet. Those players have been putting in a lot of good performances against tough opposition recently. Had we not kept them out I'd possibly agree with you, but the job was done. Clean sheet and 3 points.
  5. Another great performance. Looked like we were low on energy which is understable given all the games recently, but they battled hard. Azaz, Downes and THB all different gravy, but Peretz man...don't fall in love with loan signings, eh? To a man they all put another big shift in. Whole team should feel good about itself at the moment.
  6. I don't know how 😭

The naval warfare tactics of American and Japanese forces in WW2 was not on my bingo card when opening this thread.

    Adam Armstrong

It's one game man. He scored a great goal for us in the PL too.

    Daniel Peretz

    Sign the man permenantly!
  10. I don't think Azaz blows hot & cold like so many suggest. I think he's got immense talent, and if the team fail to make use of him, we don't benefit from it. Better suited to a free role, not lazy in the slightest and has the talent to play in the PL.

    Tonda Eckert

Kiss of death normally, but he does deserve some recognition for what he's done this season.
  12. Superb performance from everyone there. Jander and Fellows slightly off it, but not through lack of trying. Peretz, Downes, Larin and Azaz all at the top of their game there, and the fans were the only ones I could hear on the telly. Gutted I couldn't get a ticket. Got to use that as confidence booster, going to a nearly full-strength PL team, away, and coming away with a win. Excellent stuff!
  13. Going through a big board reshuffle, apparently. Jon Rudkin (one of the guys the fans really don't like) has been promoted...
  14. Larin was great. There was a moment in the 2nd half, I think, where he takes a ball out of the sky with his chest despite being jostled and pushed from behind at the same time. Crazy strength and skill.
  15. Crazy when you see the size of the stadium and facilities VA have, and then when they go away to play it's in a chicken shed! Seems like a team woefully underperforming.
  16. *on the final day of the season
  17. Something really seemed to rattle him, no idea what
  18. Agree with this, holding back doesn't seem to be in Ross' nature. Really hope he can stay fit now, he's an excellent player, but if I was a betting man I'd bet there's more heartbreak on the horizon. I'm sure that won't dampen his efforts though.
  19. It was an unexpected thing, we were staying nearby but I didn't realise we were close until I was looking at the map one night, so we took a trip over to have a look around. Wife went to the Christmas market, boys and I went to the stadium! I did stop by the club shop in town too, but it was closed for lunch!
  20. Totally forgot to say we visited Valenciennes over the Christmas break while we were in France for the week. Couldn't get inside sadly as the place was fully closed down, but struck me it was a really nice complex. Certainly looks to have been invested in, but the same worries I have about SR were as true as they were for us - are they too preoccupied with the 'brand' rather than what happens on the pitch? Nice place, though!

    Cameron Archer

Agreed on the first point, I thought it was out of order.
  22. Just got back. Leicester beaten by our U21s...you love to see it! Pros: Bragg immense, joint MOTM with Quarshie for me. Ori was decent too. Larin worked hard, Wood decent and all the youngesters played their part. Bree excellent when he came on. Into the next round and all important players protected. Cons: Jesus, Archer is poor! Manning got/cold. Jelert not great in the first half but picked up. What a great week!
  23. Can people stop replying to this thread? Every time I see his name on the board, I assume there's a new injury reported 😟
  24. 2-0 at half time used to mean game over. These days it's anything but!
  25. I still can't believe it happened. Moments like that are rare in football, especially with this club in the last decade. What an absolutely wonderful feeling! Stewart changed the game. His presence brought Azaz into the game so much more, and when Charles came on to put Jander out of his misery it was too much for them. Great 2nd half from everybody, amazing finish from Shea. One of my lads was sat next to me calm as anything throughout the game. Kept saying it's fine, it's the 10th of Feb - apparently that's the date we did the comeback against 5-3 Huddersfield a couple of years back. The fact it's Leicester just makes it even sweeter.
