What I'm telling myself: Fellows has stood up and said "Guys, last time I played against these lot they kicked the shit out of me and wore themselves out trying to stop me from going on a run. Let me come on later in the game when they're all wheezing and I'll have the freedom of the right wing. Oh, and bring Ross on with me. I'll find him in the box, don't worry." Then I woke up.

Fucking hell, can't you two get a room or something?
-
Tom Hardy, totally forgot about him! He's outstanding.
-
Oh, Ralph Fiennes in most of the roles he plays, but particularly Harry in In Bruges.
-
Christian Bale in Hostiles and Gary Oldman in Leon spring to mind. Was watching Grey's Anatomy the other day though (a few years behind) and there's a chap called Giacomo Gianniotti playing a character called DeLuca who absolute stole this scene where he's been struggling with bi-polar and has a mental breakdown. One of the best performances I've watched, and it wasn't even a movie. In fact, I went off to find it: https://youtu.be/jTwLrXHef3E?si=lDV5wyMlIbn6WSip Context: He's a doctor whose Italian dad suffers from extreme mania. Story builds up over a number of episodes that the guy is slowly going the same way, which comes to a head when a patient comes in and he suspects the girl is being child-trafficked. Of course, no body believes him because of his bi-polar, which triggers the meltdown. The little cracks in his voice and the way he knows he's not right in the head, but he is actually right here...his sister's the one in the pink, front row. The look she gives him too!

Agreed. Still must have either been VERY bad, or Tonda did a Russ and sold everybody some magic beans.
-
Clubs can't afford to sack a manager THAT quickly!
-
One thing I would say, is that it's easy to turn on Tonda now but after the run he went on when he took over, I saw most Saints fans (myself included) say that he'd earned a stab at the job full time. No debate that it's not working out, but on that winning run alone I can see why the club offered him the gig. Ultimately it looks like it'll just be another of the entries in the SR book of fuckups, but I reckon many of us would have done the same thing (as opposed to their other fuckups, where they do really stupid stuff that you don't even need hindsight to see wouldn't work).

Jesus I forgot about Ronnie Edwards!
-
I used to think this, but aside from goalie and possibly a left back, I think that squad is good enough. It's proved it recently. It's the brains, the tactics and the people at the wheel that seem to be the problem.
-
We are not going to get relegated this season, that's just nuts. Next season? Who knows, but this season it's nailed-on mid/lower half mediocrity.
-
I'd have taken a point at half time.
-
Manning is dreadful!
-
This. Build a statue of the guy as far as I'm concerned, he's pulled off a miracle!
-
Not in the slightest. He's a WH fan, he'd have loved to batter Millwall.
-
Exactly the same thing happened here 😆

That's possibly the best post I've ever seen on here.

I know the logical side of everything says the RM rumours are just lazy journos, but this club's been such a dumpster fire in recent years, I'm still getting anxious there's an element of truth in it. I'd be fucking LIVID. I think Sports Republic would probably go down as our worst ever owners if they were to do that, and we've had Rupert Lowe.
-
Come on, the team RM took over was better than this one! And no, I thought Still had to go. I said so a week or two ago.
-
The squad he inherited wasn't as damaged or as bloated as this one
-
Even the notion of a rumour fills me with dread!
-
I'd have him, skate links and all. I'm just petrified they're going to get RM back.
-
I like him, I think he'll be a good manager somewhere (and I think he's been a good manager in France already) but I just don't think he's the right fit here. Players doing repeatedly stupid things kinda smacks of them not being arsed because they don't fear the consequences. I've heard him coaching in French, and it sounds like a different guy to the one coaching in English. Far more assertive and commanding. No idea why that is, but the bottom line for me is that this team needed picking up by its bootstraps just like Ralph did in 2018, and I don't think WS is the guy to do it. I want him to be, I really do. I'd love to think differently, but I just don't think he's 'the guy', and all the while he's here we're going to tank. I don't blame him one bit, though. I blame the muppets at the top who think they're more clever than they actually are. We do actually need a Big Sam, Dyche or Moyes type in here now. I don't care about sexy football or 'philosophies'- 4 wins in 50. That's what I care about. We need a manager who has the nous and the clout to go against the board, fight on behalf of his players and bring results despite the people at the top. We need new people running the club and spending Solak's money more than a new manager.
