  1. Interestingly, all the offers (Including the Porto offer) propose an initial fee to loan the player for this season with the rest to be paid next summer as part of an option (which I would guess is forced). In total our offer is 20m euros (£14.1m) whereas Porto's offer is 25m euros (£17.7m). We are not out of it yet as; 1) We could improve our offer, either by increasing the total value of the deal or by offering a permanent transfer meaning that Marseille will get more money now. 2) The player may reject Porto if he wants to play in England or wants Premier League wages.
  2. "De Telegraaf" are saying Clasie is not Koeman's first choice to replace Schneiderlin http://www.telegraaf.nl/telesport/voetbal/feyenoord/24206625/__Clasie_niet_op_1_bij_Southampton__.html?utm_source=t.co&utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=twitter
  3. Seems the most likely explanation. Wijnaldum would be a good signing for us though.
  4. That french article makes no sense. It refers to a supposed Guardian article about a bid from Southampton that doesn't exist. The only Wijnaldum related news on the Guardian website alleges that Sunderland have submitted a bid of 15m euros for him.

    Toby

Can the club even match any big offers for Toby withut getting Schneiderlin & Clyne out the door?
  6. A lower fee than people will have hoped for, but don't doubt for a second that Clyne would have sat out his contract and ****ed off on a free if we'd have demanded more. Now get Schneiderlin out the door quickly too so the club can start doing the more costly and important deals (replacing Schneiderlin and Alderweireld).
  7. 2-0 down. Belotti and Benassi with 2 goals in quick succession.
  8. Schneiderlin seemingly (I say that because quote is in French and translated by google translate) saying that he thinks his departure will be sorted before the players return to training next week http://www.francebleu.fr/football/rcsa/football-morgan-schneiderlin-2455425
  9. Team tonight v Italy: Butland, Jenkinson, Garbutt, Forster-Caskey, Stones, Gibson, Kane, Redomond, Chalobah, Ings, Lingard. JWP on the bench again along with Targett
  10. http://sportwitness.ning.com/forum/topics/southampton-join-tottenham-in-race-for-13-2m-star-player-wants-en According to this article, Le Parisien have claimed we are interested in Gianelli Imbula.
  11. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/33226168 Distin looks likely to be signing for Bournemouth.

  13. Seems like if you are keen to make a loan deal permanent, you wouldn't imply that said player was rubbish after Christmas.
  14. Krychowiak would be an outstanding signing, but would he trade Champions League football for Premier League wages? Also we apparently offered 12m euros for a player they rate at 30m euros (£21.9m). Very unlikely we would spend £21.9m on one player
  15. http://www.record.xl.pt/Futebol/Nacional/1a_liga/Sporting/interior.aspx?content_id=954418 Portuguese to Google translation Looks like Cédric will be our first signing of the summer.
  16. Mirror reckons West Ham are still trying to sign him, as well as Obiang and Gignac. As an aside Gignac offered these words to the French press when asked about Andre Ayew So perhaps it would not be the best idea to have them at the same club.
  17. Long on for the second half.
  18. http://sportwitness.ning.com/forum/topics/southampton-to-seal-10m-deal-for-portugal-international-in-coming Close to agreeing a 10m euro deal for Andre Almeida of Benfica. Can play LB/RB/DM so could prove a useful utility player.
  19. Makes sense. Not set the world alight, but could be a handy squad player to have with all the extra games we may have to play, if we can get him for the equivalent of £1.5-2m
  20. Di Marzio now reporting Sampdoria's President and Okaka's agent will meet with club officials tomorrow to try and do a deal for Stefano Okaka.
  21. Reports that Osvlado will definitely be back at Southampton were a bit premature it seems. Boca's President appears to have done a u-turn and is willing to either take him back on loan or try and do a player exchange to get him. http://hereisthecity.com/en-gb/2015/06/05/boca-juniors-seemingly-change-stance-on-southampton-flop-osva/
  22. Indeed. I would think that Okaka is one of the back up options should we fail to land our top priority transfer targets in the position, which at the moment appears to be Charlie Austin.
  23. http://www.thetottenhamway.com/2015/06/04/spurs-target-in-contact-with-eric-dier-says-premier-league-move-a-dream/ Adrien Silva, one of Sporting Lisbon's CMs claims Saints and Spurs are interested in him.
