Reading between the lines here, but could Guan's source being unwilling to even hint re: the new manager suggest Koeman is not as big a favourite for the job as some (myself included) believe him to be? Right now it is Koeman's name that is most prominently linked with the job, plus his agent has publicly stated he would be interested. Seems like there is little to gain from keeping quiet over a name that is already out there.

Thanks for the info, the remarks about sorting it before national positions become vacant is interesting. I take it you mean before a load of managers either quit or get the sack after the WC.

People will do well to remember that Les Reed probably wields much more power right now within the club than he could have ever hoped for under someone like Nicola Cortese. This is likely to be amplified by the fact that amongst the board, he is the only one with any footballing background or knowledge and everyone else at boardroom level lacks the knowledge to properly identify any mistakes he might be making. This is why the composition of the board is all wrong, there should be at least one other "football person" in the boardroom who can accurately and competently keep checks on him.

Reading that Garcia story, It reads very strongly like something his agent has fed to the journalist trying to encourage Celtic to show some interest. After RK's words yesterday, the club can't afford to appoint someone entirely unremarkable like Garcia.
