Ralph Krueger - post-match comments in hospitality suite

Nope, don't remember seeing it. I'd agree though, but I don't think the owners want to invest as much as sustained improvement requires. If we invest as much as previous summers I'd be pretty certain everyone would stay. -
Osvaldo makes 5th in Telagraph 10 worst sighnings

I still think Osvaldo will be here next season now Rodriguez is injured. Can't see us signing two top strikers. -

What are we going to do with £35mill? I genuinely don't think we'd get a better weekly performer then Lallana or Shaw or Schneiderlin for £35mill, big money doesn't mean consistently good performances. None of them would kick up a fuss if we told them to stay, it'd completely ruin their England career if we just went "ok screw you then, you're going back to the U21's for four years" I'm sure they'd soon have a change of heart. -

I don't think anyone's naive enough to assume that when he says players will hopefully be kept he means hopefully Pochettino wants to keep them. Clearly the uncertainty is if players want to leave or massive bids are received. Reed didn't really say no one would be sold either, he said no bids had been received and if they had they'd probably be refused. The players are also now sounding much less certain then they were last summer. If they do still think the same it would be nice if they weren't so wishy washy with their language, because I've never thought we'd sell players over the last few years but get the impression some will leave this summer now. -

If I'm honest I'd still much rather hear a more hard nosed "no one's going to be sold, f#ck off". I don't see why it's that difficult? We've got the money available to keep hold of our first 11. -
Sounds like he's in the same boat as most of them, if we continue to invest and improve he'll stay, if not he won't.
-
Lukaku looks absolute gash
-
We're f#cking sh#te at spending money though. I'd rather keep Shaw and have £10mill to spend then sell him and have £60mill to waste on more rubbish.
-
I wasn't implying we give Shaw a £15mill signing on fee and do no other transactions this summer. I'd sell those two, give Shaw a huge new contract then use the money from those transfers plus £10mill of investment to give £20mill to Pochettino. If we want to be a top half team and have England players we need to pay England player wages, if not we don't deserve to keep players like Lallana and Shaw.
-
There's next to no reason for us to even accept £30mill, we'd be getting to the point that we have more money then we can actually sensibly spend because of the limited type of player we can attract. We would be more inclined to sell Osvaldo and Gaston and use the money to offer Shaw 80k a week imo, that would be far more in line with the brand they're trying to promote, selling Shaw would ruin our image.
-
It may well be true that United may offer it, but in that case the article is jumping the gun just a tad in assuming their offer would be accepted by either party. It's no coincidence it's coming out the day after Moyes was sacked, it just seems like some pie in the sky b*llocks put out by United to keep their fans happy. Shaw can get silly money from Chelsea, he's absolutely no reason to go to a sinking ship like United.
-
It's certainly pretty impressive they've managed to get an exclusive on Saints accepting an offer then allowing United to enter into contract talks to be able to offer him 100k a week. Either that or it's complete rubbish put out by United to keep their fans temporarily happy after sacking their manager and having their worst season in recent history.
-
Sounds a load of ******** to me, the only difference to previous reports is that they've made up a fictional wage this time too.
-
Since we get sod all for sponsors we should just do a Barca and put a charity like Unicef on our shirts. It'd be such a baller move and good for the clubs brand.
-
Yes but there's the small issue of our first 11 being borderline Champions League standard and there's being complete sh#te. What a horrible burden for our club to carry.
-
Because his career has stalled and we're the best team in the country for developing youngsters and he grew up here. Not as if he's going to win any silverware at Arsenal either is it.
-
Stop being such a drip, if half our squad played elsewhere and we were linked with them they'd be 'out of our league'.
-
Is Chamberlain a good enough suggestion for you? He's my tip for the summer, Wenger will leave and Ox will come back here.
-
How about 50 goals in 3 seasons at Roma and Espanyol, is that not consistent enough?
-
-
I wonder if we could get Michu for sensible money, ie less then £7mill.
-
That's a pretty uninspiring list of players cuzzy
-
I'd keep him and I think we will. We need two top quality strikers and I can't see us signing two. Osvaldo's still potentially a quality player.
-
Kind of annoying how we've got Mayuka and Osvaldo out on loan when we've got sod all available. Even if it is with hindsight
-
Not much we can do without any strikers
