Hard to argue with this. Only a couple of weeks ago he said he was intending to stay. Can't imagine anything from the club changing in that time. Decision is all his.

And that signing is almost certainly moving on this summer as well. Not sure they're going to splash those amounts on too many players all at once.

Not to mention it wasn't to long ago RK said it would be a difficult choice for him to stay on if the club didn't qualify for European football. That may have been a bit of a hint. Turns out we did qualify, but perhaps he wants more. Whatever. If he's made a choice so be it. We will just carry on.

Good thing we missed out on CL by all of three points this season. A work of Machiavellian art by the board to provide funds and support to get almost there without actually doing it. They certainly fooled me!

Yes and everything about it still makes sense. According to reports the Toffees are now going to pay us 5 million in compo, RK 6 million a year, and Seville almost 4 million to get Monchi, on top of what they have promised to pay him. That is ridiculous no matter how you slice it, and there is no way the club could have predicted it. Nor can they do much to stop it.

And what's wrong with the information in that piece? I think it was suitable for the club to consider an unlikely destination for manager or players. Why would they worry about it? What was it about Everton - before they started throwing out stupid money - that would make them at all desirable. And don't tell me history and size. The fact is they finished 11th, they are almost certain to lose their best attacking player, and they are at best a remote chance of improving into a European place next season, even IF Koeman decides to go there. Spurs, Chelsea, City, United, Arsenal, Liverpool will 99% finish ahead of them again. Obviously West Ham have a decent project going. Anyone of three or four other teams could push into the top six or seven, including us obviously. No guarantee Everton will be among them at all. There was ZERO reason to think any move by the Toffees represented a threat, until they upped their money offer.

Well I won't suggest a new manager if that helps you. Just as I haven't on the other thread that is now at six pages and still going.

The fact is the man is under a contract. The only person responsible for not fulfilling that contract - if such happens - is him. I still would like him to stay, but if he chooses not too so be it.
