  1. K Billy with Eli Lilly? That does seem odd.
  2. Maybe, but they still shouldn't have scored. First corner was crap and should have been cleared far better. Bertrand also asleep in front of Forster.
  3. Perhaps you guys would care to get back to the topic at hand? Frustrating game for sure. Didn't expect we'd recover after going down a goal. Never should have conceded in the first place though. Plenty of creativity (in theory) in the front half, but sometimes it'd be nice if our attackers just did the simple things first. Early cross to catch defenders out. First time shot instead of turning back. I think we keep working for an EL spot until it becomes impossible, but I don't think it should be seen as catastrophic if we don't get there. As much as we battle with consistency, on the whole I reckon we're going ok.
  4. But.... but.... ambition!!! If we don't finish sixth or above then CLEARLY we were never really trying too. Or so we are told.
  5. Please seek help. It might not be too late. Although it almost certainly is.
  6. Any statement that ends with the word "Fact" is usually anything but. Opinion.
  7. According to some around here we need ambition, which we apparently lack.
  8. Very much so. But what are ya gonna do. As for the game itself, all jokes aside we should be pummeling them. Not sure I buy into the "desperate" idea. They've been **** all season and there's no reason to think they'll be any better now with their fate all but sealed. Don't care if it's 2,3,or 4-nil. Or even 2-1, but no reason to accept anything less than 3 points.
  9. He set up Mane for our one real chance with a brilliant ball, and got on the end of the one decent cross we produced all game to at least get a decent header away from distance. You can argue he didn't have a great game sure, but my word the service into the area was woeful and not at all helpful.
  10. De Gea will surely be Real's main target again this summer. How I bet he wishes he had have gone last year.
  11. Yeah you could really see the hate they hold for each other after that win against Liverpool the other week. That huge group embrace was full of tension.
  12. Weird. Can we all get some of whatever it is you are smoking? Nevertheless we're not going to be able to match what West Ham might offer either of them. Not to mention they could both easily go to bigger teams on the continent.
  13. Straight back to Burnley if they're promoted maybe? At a small profit to Liverpool no doubt.
  14. In that case, Noodles or Alpine. Or Dalek! And in keeping with the ridiculousness, I would want SAF to come out of retirement and prove himself at another club. He had it easy for decades.
  15. He was a complete **** when he said this, and it was said full of smugness because he thought he was the greatest thing since bread came sliced and he was going to go on and take the Dippers to glory. It was nothing but a stab at the club and a way to deflect criticism from the players he signed for the manner in which he went about signing them. And he's still a complete ****, but at least he got his. And again, we DID challenge for a top four spot last season. Up until Jan/Feb if I recall correctly. But we simply were not good enough for various reasons to see the job done.
  16. Is there any evidence to say we're not aiming for for 6th at a minimum? We are all of three points off it as things stand. If we fall short have we simply failed to reach that ambition? Or were we really just settling for 7th/8th/9th all along. Our goal is to make in into Europe. That is our stated ambition. It's not a rolled gold guarantee of success. The other 19 PL teams aren't just going to lie down and say "Oh Saints have ambition here let's let them have one of those spots". As for momentum and the cusp of greatness under the little Italian, the ONLY time we were anywhere near the CL spots was about a year after he left, with a squad he was largely not responsible for assembling. I just don't understand how you can argue that the words coming out of the mouths of the board aren't in any way matching their actions on and off the field.
  17. I thought Romeu was pretty good at driving forward against Sunderland. He certainly didn't lack aggression in doing so IMO. It did leave us light handed going back though. Will he keep his spot when Vic returns? Probably deserves too.
  18. Pis taking of Batman aside, it would be fabulous. When was the last time this club achieved three consecutive top 10 finishes in the top flight? European qualification would be nice, but some people need to be a little realistic. We might scrape in there and we might not.
  19. It only took 28 games too.
  20. Yes it was crap. You do know we scored at the death because Pelle played a smart ball out to Bertrand who then fed Tadic yes? Pelle who also fed Tadic earlier in the game who forced Mannone into a save. Pelle who fed Martina late in the game who forced Mannone into a save. I'm happy to admit he's been well below par for quite a while. But there are 9 other men out there not exactly setting the world on fire. Ward-Prowse do much? Mane? Can you possibly go one post without mentioning your favourite whipping boy?
  21. Indeed it was. But we got a very undeserved point. Be grateful for small mercies.
  22. Set pieces have been pretty crap.
  23. I think you may have been called a fukwit for the simple reason that you are, indeed, something of a ****wit. But yes. Yoshida poor for their goal, as was VVD before him.
