  1. Read that at the time. And again since. I still agree with it. We weren't anywhere near as bad as some on here thought we were at the end of last season. We had faults certainly, but a lot things didn't run our way as much as they could have.
  2. From ESPN, which I am sure a lot of you wouldn't give two hoots about anyway. http://grantland.com/the-triangle/three-flagrant-but-true-premier-league-statements-anthony-martial-is-making-manchester-magical/ But there's some solid praise for our system.
  3. I can't see any way he gets a new contract with us. Even if he came in this week, played out of his skin for the rest of the season, scored a dozen goals and set up a dozen more, some one else will come in with a bigger deal for him anyway. Couldn't see the club deciding to match anything to keep him. Just hoping he might to do something in the remainder of this contract which will be of benefit to this campaign. Maybe he'll score the winning goal in the FA Cup final and end up on the banner. Hilarious.
  4. More yes. A great deal more? Not so sure. Long was over priced yes, but I'd argue Lallana's value has decreased in the past 12 months. He hasn't done much to justify the price we sold him for and I doubt Liverpool would get anything close to it if they put him in the window. Just my two cents.
  5. Funny place this. I'm as jaded about Ramirez as the next bloke but if we're paying the guy a rather serious wedge every week we might as well see what final little benefit we can squeeze out of it on the pitch. Especially in the Cups, until a chance comes up in the league. And if it doesn't work out we end up back where we have been for the past couple years - still spending the same wedge.
  6. Not sure anyone is making a direct comparison in that regard. Mind you those stats if true are interesting. I imagine what people are doing is pointing out respective value for money based on how much the two club's spent to get them in. What would you value Lallana at right this minute?
  7. I wouldn't be putting too much of my hard earned on him doing that just yet either. Hopefully between form and injury he has another **** year, gets sold at a cut-price to Liverpool's current cast-off club Stoke, and then fades into footballing obscurity. That'd be my wish. Bastard.
  8. Sadly he's not up against Adam alone. Otherwise he'd be a shoe in.
  9. Do the stats record things like ridiculous saves? Cause those two from De Gea on Sunday were certainly significant. The first in particular.

    Van Dijk

I recommend anyone coming to this thread start by reading the highlighted portion only, and then leaving.
  11. I'm gonna see if I can wake up the wife for a sympathy wristy.
  12. Yoshida and De Gea the difference.
  13. You and I both know Davis wouldn't have scored there in a month of Sundays.
  14. Hope is a *****.
  15. Sickening
  16. He's very clearly not, which makes you a ****ing idiot for saying so.
  17. I'm not big on bagging players and I do think JWP is talented and works hard. Saying that I have to agree that he was very ordinary on Saturday.
  18. Oops. Wanyama. Lousy autocorrect.
  19. Not much to hang the hat on there. Van Dijk good. Santana ok. But all very beige. J-Rod should have scored. Ward-Prowse awful. Just awful. He should have got the hook for Mane. Meh.
  20. He wasn't recruited to get them in the top 7 though.
  21. Not a chance. I'm thinking West Ham or another not quite top top London club.
  22. I understand the sentiment but I think that may be overstating it somewhat. Yes he's a knob but we had enough out there in both legs to get a result. We were just ****house on the night.

    Tadic

Milked a little for sure, but it was a clear yellow. Crazy from Whittaker gien his earlier, similarly crazy, booking. But yeah I hate seeing players, any players, waving for cards. It's a blight. Wouldn't have been against Tadic getting a yellow himself for that. Would stamp it out a bit.
  24. Senegal for example.
  25. Commentators annoyed me talking about "circumstances helping us" with the sending off. Boo ****ing hoo! Whittaker has to take the blame for that alone. The first yellow especially was stupid. Good professional performance across the board today. No complaints about anyone really.
