Not in the slightest. The last thing we should be looking to do is strengthen teams who are our closest competition. That includes Spurs, Liverpool, and Swansea or Stoke for that matter. EL or not we should be looking to finish top half again next season as a minimum. Although I'll take 11th if we do qualify and then win the Europa League.

Those losses to Swansea, and especially Sunderland, really hurt.

Agreed. Just like Romelu Lukaku, who cost 3.5X as much. And yes while Lukaku MAY improve as he gets older, he hasn't shown that much in the games I've seen him play.

This is what I thought. It was a terrible kick, but how Fonte, Clyne, and Toby all then failed to tidy up or put a tackle in was abysmal. And that's before you realise they all went to the ball and left Mahrez alone less than 12 yards out. Once that happened Gazza was screwed. Not sure he could do much about the first.

Wont bother reading the thread as I'm sure all the whiners will be blaming Pelle for everything bad that's happened so far this season. Weak defence for the first goal. Weak defence failed to bail out Gazza's **** poor clearance for the second. Clyne, Toby, and Fonte all get drawn to the ball and none of them can put a tackle in? **** poor. But that's us all round right now. Ahhh well.

I figured we'd comfortably finish in or near the top half at the start of the season. Something like 8th to 12th I guess. So even to finish 7th will be incredibly pleasing. If we can sneak a place or two higher I'll be stoked. Yes it's a little frustrating given where we were in January, but you could say the season has evened itself out somewhat. Mind you I don't think we've had as much good luck as we've had bad, even though we probably should have shipped a couple more penalties before the weekend. Meh. And I'll never understand the argument against Europa League. Sure it's a test of squad depth and stamina, but what else is a club our size (ie SMALL) supposed to do if it wants to grow? If we do finish 7th I will be cheering for Arsenal in the Cup final as loudly as any one of their fans.
