Both their starting 11s coming down with some form of crippling illness would be a solid result. That and Rodgers falling off a very high bridge.
-
Looked to me like Bertrand signalled Forster not to come for it.

What trying to kick the ball away?
-
That's encouraging. If true.

Utter garbage. Were they at all interested when he was carving it up for Salzburg? That would have been the time. Back before the internet papers didn't have so much space to fill. Seriously if not for porn I'd have disconnected a long time ago.

Well we only get one every 20 games or so, so it'll be a while before it becomes an issue again I'd say.

Rode our luck. Was just nice to have some luck for a change.

I think Europe League would be immense for us. For a while I thought it would be better to qualify naturally through our league position, but then I guess if 7th is enough due to other factors we have still earned it legitimately. Some quick maths says we've earned 1.75 points a game so far this season. Which obviously equates to another 17 points from the remaining 10 games. Of course that's not guaranteed, but it's the best predictor of future returns we have. Imagine getting to 65 points though. Madness.

Bit of perspective in this for us you'd think. Liverpool were quite good. And City, with all that money running around on the pitch couldn't produce anything to rescue the game.

Maybe not, but then we'd struggle to find Long's biggest fan anywhere. Definitely not on this forum. But we have to work with what we have, and SL does offer movement and can stretch defenses out of position. We've seen it. Would have perhaps liked to see Djuricic ahead of Elia yesterday. But what do I know. Just keep plugging away and hopefully something will change for the better. Not like we haven't had a bad spell once already. I'll clutch at straws and say at least GP got on the end of a couple chances yesterday, which hasn't happened for a while. Progress.

It's true he should have buried that one on the line. You can't make excuses for that. But then again Benteke hasn't scored in 8 or 9 games. Rooney hadn't netted in the same period until last night. It's a bit shidhouse but what are you gonna do. Can't see him being dropped for Palace, but can imagine Long starting alongside him.

Utterly woeful so far but plenty of time to turn it around. They've been pretty crap too, although well organised. Saying that the score will probably stay this way. Sigh.

I want them getting more than ****ing Spurs ypou can be sure of that.

Utter garbage. I think it was a fair penalty, but Song didn't even need to go near Kane. He wasn't much of a threat running away from the goal there.
-
How dare he publicly express his enjoyment with things! The nerve!

We're still fourth nothing at all is dead. As for the dippers I want to beat them for the sake of beating them. Nothing at all to do with where we finish on the table.
-
Interesting to note also Koeman post-match saying we weren't unlucky and admitting the players up front are battling. Hopefully means he's considering solutions to the problem.
-
Just a reminder. As it stands right now, we are 4th in the League, and still in charge of our own destiny for the most part. Our ambition at the start of the season was to finish in a better position than last year. 99% likely we'll do that now. Maybe CL is a bit of a 50/50 but we're in the mix, which is pretty bloody remarkable.

Didn't mind Mane coming off, as with them being down a man and sitting well back we'd be unlikely to get behind them anyway. But so much faffing about in the box! Just leather the ball!

Pellé getting some stick from our fans.....fair or not?

No doubt he struggled tonight. Could easily have buried that chance on his left. Ironically that looped overhead counts as a shot on target. Not sure what that does for his stats though. I'm still a fan and think he's role is pivotal, but he is a bit down. Still better than bloody Osvaldo mind you. Be nice if we could get control of a game and switch him out for a Seager/McQueen/Gallagher just to give him some more rest. -
People whinging about WH wasting time from the start is a but rich. We had plenty of the ball and need to do more than just try to walk it into the net. Definitely should have been taking more shots from range once they changed the keeper. Fact is we weren't great today, and didn't deserve more than what we walked away with. Pelle had a rough game, and I've been supportive of him. Was actually the first time he's had a real sight of goal in a few games but should have done better at least once. I reckon their fans would be extra ****ed as well now though. Not so much with this result, but as many of them thought they should have focussed more on their Cup game against West Brom on the weekend. Now they won't have Adrian or Caroll.

Now averaging 1 in every 3 league games, which isn't all that bad. -

100% this. The bloke is getting hammered by defenders, gets nothing from the ref, and continues to battle and fight for his teammates all over the pitch. Yes he's in a dry spell, but he gets bugger all service in the box and hasn't even had a shout lately. Not to mention the wrestling he's subjected too during corners and such. He's having a fine first season and as long as others continue to pop up with goals there's no reason to worry. -

63 posts and you still maintain such consistent wit and analysis. The reigning SWF hardmen are no doubt trembling at the thought - nay, the impending REALITY - of losing their crowns to you. I'm going to organise a fundraiser so we can all benefit from your insight more often. Three posts a day does not do justice to you sir.
