  1. Indeed. In my defence I try to scrub any game involving WBA from my memory ASAP. Also I was in the middle of flying from Perth to Europe when that match took place.
  2. https://t.co/uaLqZUdGbs
  3. Yes that was one. Duly noted.
  4. Newcastle, Liverpool, Villa. I don't remember ANY game in which we scored a late equaliser under Pochettino, although I'll happily be proven wrong. When we were behind then we just tried to keep walking balls into nets, with little effect.
  5. Half the "decent" players at Stoke are Liverpool cast-offs. Maybe we should adopt that strategy as well. Arnautovic, Bojan, etc didn't set the world on fire last season. But boy are they doing the business now. Look at them up there, all five points ahead of us.
  6. No other club finished 8th and 7th in the past two seasons. Leicester will lose the players the big clubs want to take if Leicester don't finish top 4. Bolasie will not be at Palace beyond the summer. Cabaye maybe. That could depend on Alan Pardew's future as much as anything else. Is Dann doing that well right now? Oddly enough his was a name I threw up here in the pre-season as a CB possibility.
  7. Very much the point I am trying to make.
  8. You think KL pockets every transfer cheque just so she can have a little extra spending money to go with her billions? Seriously.
  9. Sure throw them in. Looks great. Now pay them what they all demand and let's see how our sustainability goes then.
  10. The only factors that matter. What players want, players get.
  11. Let's break down why they went. Lambert - boyhood dream, money, looming WC and England chances. Lallana - ****, money, looming WC and England chances. Lovren - ****, money. Chambers - money. Shaw: money. Schneiderlin: money, better chance of national call-up. Clyne: money, solidify England spot (in his mind at least). Aldereweld: money. None of these departures had anything to do with the club's ambitions for the future. Only the ambitions of the individual players. The club's ambition is always to get the best results on the field in the most sustainable manner as possible. It is ever thus. That's eight. Am I missing one?
  12. Fixed it for you. The notion that the board wake up every day dreaming of selling our best players so they can line their own pockets is ****ing ludicrous. Players go for money. That's it. Vardy may say he's happy to stay at Leicester right now and who can blame him with where they're at. But guess what happens if they don't finish in the top 6, he scores 20+ goals, and United offers to double his wages. It's business.
  13. Check her Instagram. Phenomenal. Enough to help you forget about lousy results for a bit.
  14. Assume this is humour? Villa 3 points from last six games. They look buggered. We've picked up 4. Not ideal. United also picked up 3 out of 18. Hilarious. Sunderland 6, Chelsea 6, Everton 6. So our form is not that out of line with many teams. I'm not a betting man as such, but you could lock Villa in for the drop now just about. Not even a Leicester type revival could help them. And that's the minimum Sunderland would need I reckon as well. Unlikely. Swansea, Bournemouth, Norwich, Newcastle all likely to struggle on as well. Not saying we COULDN'T find ourselves in trouble yet, but something REALLY bad would have to happen I think.
  15. Everton have Spurs, City, and Chelsea in succession. What chance they hang on to Naismith until after that stretch? Just in case they need him?
  16. Yes it was a blip for them, and a fantastic [one-off] result for us. Yes they will be miles ahead of us come season end. But it doesn't at all address WHY they had this blip on the night they were expected to do us over and go top of the league. I'm only about to watch the game now as the timing didn't really work for me this morning, so I can't make any comment on the ref.
  17. You sir, are a Saint
  18. Love that he thinks the gap between them and us is what they should be judged on, as is that would be all that matters come seasons end. Imagine Wenger taking that line? "Yes we finished 5th and missed out on CL, but at least we finished XX points ahead of Southampton. So it's been a successful season". Crazy logic. And why does he keep drinking from his bottle like that? Dumbarse. More importantly, is there a link to the match online yet? I will watch it at work later.
  19. On our best days we surely are. But we had been in a bit of a rut for whatever reason. Hopefully it is over. I wasn't too worried while we were in it, and I am not getting carried away with one win. But we have proven we are more than capable. Let's carry on.
  20. Watford doing over Pool now. #Kloppout ?
  21. Maybe it's a calculated plot to ensure our better players aren't poached for the third summer in a row. Who would take them om this form.
  22. It really is turning into a remarkable season. And it's pretty fun to watch the big big clubs come unstuck to some degree. Sadly right now we're not getting the benefits of that. But oh well.
  23. Like Pelle, Bertrand, Tadic, Mane, Forster, and VVD? Five of those were kind of integral in our 7th place finish last season.
  24. This board is populated with some serious helmets. You are an expert on body language, but clearly not the English language. And I can only assume you think Cuco Martino looks like a chimp. This is largely the same "budget dogs##t" that took us to 7th last season. Maybe that was an overachievement sure. Of the players we lost prior to this season only Schneiderlin was a serious blow in my opinion. And so what if "the likes of Stoke" signed quality. Maybe they'll struggle a bit later this season too. Look how awesome they are all two points ahead of us. We're not entitled to be any better than them anyway. what makes you think we should be? Teams like Stoke, Palace, us .... there really isn't much difference between them. On a good day they'll be good. On a bad day they'll be bad. And there's a whole lot of in between days as well. Even Leicester are going to come a cropper at some point. That's the likelihood anyway. Mind you I hope they don't. Would love it if they managed to pull off a top four finish.
