To restock on skunk? That might explain why Koeman is so laid back...
-
So basically we are concluding that he could have been there to meet just about anyone? I expect Alex Boring Crook to turn this into an exclusive any time soon... Sources close to the club understand that Koeman may be considering the possibility of perhaps thinking about making a bid for someone...
-
Correct - missing comma...
-
Yes, one of "the March" videos showed someone (Clasie?) arriving, being met by all and sundry, including, Hugo Scheckter our new Scottish midget head of recruitment etc. Seems v unlikely that Koeman would have been there alone, or that Chris wouldn't have noticed his entourage. But - in the absence of any other rumours of substance - can't we abandon logic and indulge in fantasising about who this new signing might be?!

Via Chris Ingram @ChrisIngram96 on Twitter I'm struggling to find flight 'arrival' info for the past. There are flights still showing on the website from Rennes and Nantes which were due at that time but were delayed. Presumably loads of others which have now disappeared from the screen. Can anyone else find anything out? Any decent players from Rennes or Nantes that we could be after? He could of course have been there to meet a friend/family member! Chris says: "yes as i left he was by arrivals , 13:45 , asked if he had any more signing up his sleeve, he said no comment and smiled" There's a selfie too - he was certainly there...

CONFIRMED - Virgil Van Dijk joins on Five Year Deal

Yes - this fits which what I suspect is the reality. He knows that he is leaving this summer and isn't focussed on Celtic. -

I just had a meeting with a mortgage advisor who is a Celtic fan (I live in Scotland). I asked him about VVD. He said he is absolute class - way too good for Celtic and way too good for the SPL. Excellent on the ball and going forwards, but also excellent defensively. I pressed him on that (a high press...) and I mentioned the Ross County game for example. He said that VVD's head is elsewhere - he is ready to leave for the Prem and not really focussed on giving 100% for Celtic. He (Mr Mortgage guy) thought that this would be a good addition to our squad (he knew his football - knew we'd just played a friendly against Espanyol for example). He referred to Celtic, in a good humoured way, as our feeder club... -
Yes, I accept that. I also accept that an attacking-phase formation can differ markedly from transitional phase and then a defensive-phase formation. However, in none of these formations do we operate with two orthodox banks of four! The old school formulaic defense, with the opposition attempting to "play between the lines" blaa blaa blaa.
-
you're looking at Chelsea. Saints are in red, on the right...
-
-
Eh? Since when have we been playing this formation? It has been 4-2-3-1 for ages - at least since under Poch. Can't remember if Adkins ever used this.
-
I agree with this

He certainly wasn't busting a gut to get back and take one of the two men off Fonte, which is what dragged Targett over. Also, their player had too much time and space to put the cross in in the first place. Oh, and Kelvin really should have saved it. I would say that Fonte and Targett were probably least at fault, even though they were nearest to the ball...
-
https://grabyo.com/g/v/0ItZ5oqAsVC Anyone want to unpick that. Could do with it starting earlier to find out who was at fault, but it looks like Fonte was left with two. Caulker and Martina doing zero defensively as the cross came in.
-
The club Twitter feed is showing HD replays of action. From what I can tell, Caulker was AWOL outside of the box (to the right!) when the cross came in. Fonte covering right CB. Targett tried to cover Fonte but arrived late and jumped under the ball. Fonte slow to realise and cover Targett. Davis could have done better. Whole defensive shape awful but I want to know why Caulker was where he was when the move started...

is it even on the radio???

30 years old. Sounds like BS...

Post-Match Reaction: SAINTS 3-0 Vitesse Arnhem - Europa League R3

I haven't seen this interview. Which broadcaster? Anyone got a link? -

In the build up to this game, after watching a full 90 mins of Clasie playing for Feyenoord and his performances for us, I said I'd start Reed (a fit, up to prem speed DM) instead of Clasie against Vitesse. A few criticised me. No-one agreed. Anyone care to comment now? I'm not saying he can't or won't reach the prem fitness level and there is no doubting his talent, but he's way off the pace at the moment. -
I'd be interested in knowing what proportion of the regular day-time posters on here are unemployed, what proportion are slackers who slyly post at work, and what proportion are e.g. shift-workers. So - what are you - slacker, unemployed or shift-worker? Me first. I am a slacker...

We can buy him, but only on the 25th December.

If they turn up in Armenia for the game I'm pretty sure that it WILL go badly! -

Note that if they get through against this team (from Azerbaijan...) then their next round games - so far as I can tell from the UEFA website - will be played on 18/19 & 25/26 August. The transfer window shuts on Tuesday 1 September at 1800 BST. Does that mean we have to put up with escalating levels of bed-wetting right through August? I'm not sure that I can take it...
