  1. Boruc/Gazz Chambers/Clyne Fonte/hoiveld Lovren/Yoshida Targett/McCarthy Wanyama/Cork Schneiderlein/Reed/JWP Tadic/McQueen/Mayuka Davis/Ramirez Rodriguez/isgrove Pelle/Gallagher/Sharp That team finishes comfortably mid table; probably in 10th place. Think how poor some of Crystal Palaces players are and they finished 11th last year. I cant see Burnley,Villa, Swansea, Leicester, West Brom, Sunderland or Hull being near us (making 13th at least very likely). That leaves QPR, West Ham,Palace and Newcastle as our competition for 10th and I can see us finishing above at least 2 of them. Obviously I would like a better second striker, a sub keeper, a utility CB/LB and LW cover until Jay Rod gets fit but , barring any departures, I'm going to enjoy watching us trust the new wave of Youth.
  2. On reed on SSN , If he says there going the fee offered will suddenly reduce as their bargaining position weakens. If he says there definitely staying, he'll look like a **** if we sell him even if we got 35 million plus. Im not sure what people want him to say...
  3. McClaren bringing will hughes with him would be delightful Boruc Chambers - Fonte- Caulker- Cresswell Wanyama Cork JWP hughes davis (JRod when fit) Lambert Definitely a step back without shaw, lovren, schneiderlein, lallana but as an absolute worst case scenario it wouldn't be the end of the world (Loads of money in the bank with that XI). Still positive attacking football good enough for mid table and maybe a tilt at the cups with McClaren ( who has won silverware). Im in the camp who would be delighted to see saints in the europa league final
  4. @SimonPeach: Getting so many contradicting stories on Pochettino's future, even from the most reliable of sources. #SaintsFC need to sort it out quickly. That pretty well sums up the entire situation, no-ones got a clue whats happening until its happened, then half of us will be right
  5. This is what has probably happened. Cortese ends contract, New board comes in and tries to save the deal with adidas but they're ****ed off and don't fancy it. Board make a new deal with another kit supplier, but haven't sorted the new sponsor yet (something cortese should have started) so cant release kit. They sort a new sponsor and the kit can be designed, Adidas then respnond to a question on facebook putting this out in the public domain so Saints have to respond. As Aap3 have a contract till July 1st , we cant release images yet so issue a statement to address this issue. I imagine well be told early July
  6. Shaw the player is very replaceable, looking at his goals and assists they are practically non existent and his defensive work is a bit patchy. Saying that hes very dependable and for his age has immense potential to improve. Thats why selling shaw is more of a symbolic gesture, can we keep hold of our players or are we just a nursery for the big boys to poach from? Personally I would tell them they have a contract and we expect them to honor it. Don't threaten them with reserve football, include them in everything and be the bigger man. Then its them who will look bad if they make a stink about leaving and no-one can force us to sell if we don't want too.
  7. Pretty sure Morgan came to us a more attacking midfielder, he certainly has the touch to be pushed slightly more forward. If they have any aspirations of european football theyll have to accept theyll be rotated at any club that is good enough to play in those kind of competitions
  8. If poch goes we should get Rosler in, although without a bit of investment and keeping hold of our key players it wont really matter who takes over
  9. Before they got promoted in 03 I really wasnt aware we had a local rival. Coming from between southampton and portsmouth. suddenly all my mates in secondary school that were united/ liverpool/ Chelsea fans were now "pompey fans" they were in the top flight, so most of my experience is that they aren't proper football fans. They have about 15000 fans that go to games (if that) regularly even now but apart from that they're not 'real' fans as such , they're more than happy to take the good times but as soon as its not all glory they jump ship. As someone whose had a season ticket since St Marys opened that really grinds on me , I deserve to see this good football were playing now in recompense for seeing a team whose star player was Stern John (Sheffield Utd is still one of the best games ive seen at St Marys though !)

    Harry Reed

I was at the game today and rowe has a lot of maturing to do before poch lets him near the team. no doubt he has bags of pace and is a tidu finisher but he was sloppy at times with simple balls and hunter was basically had to shout at him for most of the game to get him track back in the right position. Keeper wasnt anything special but then he didnt have a lot to do. Best player on the pitch by a mile was reed , his game is identical to steven davis so I can see him replacing him next year. Gallagher is still a bit rough to be in contention for lamberts place for next season, some poor decision making at times but that will come with experience
  11. He cant play 3 games in a week. His fitness wasnt ever great which was why he was L1 when we bought him, in the lower leagues you can get away with that but not in the prem. Maybe if we had a squad where we could rotate players he would be back to his best but at the moment we are far too reliant on lallana , lambert and Jrod going forwards. There is literally nothing else with Ramirez out (and even he hasnt convinced consistently). All the teams above us have players as good as those 3 and 3 others to rotate with them so they are always fresh. We dont need to get rid of lambert as hes still very good at his best , like at fulham. its no surprise to me his best game for a while(fulham) came after he had had a rest to recover

    Boruc

No way begovic will come to saints after the abuse he got yesterday ! I wouldn't say other keepers are much better , he gets exposed a lot by our defense without lovren in to organize fonte and shaw. Yoshida is reckless and positionally very suspect which , when combined with shaws tendency to push on, gives us issues
  13. Hart Clyne Cahill Terry Shaw Cork Wilshere Rooney Lallana Rodriguez Lambert That team would get out the group guaranteed. Only question is sturrige/ Rodriguez but saints bias and more familiarity with team mates swung it for JRod Hate having Terry in there but struggle to think of a better Partner for cahill than his clubmate
  14. With regards to our value , id put us nearer 200 m than 120. Rickie 7 , JRod 12 , Lallana 15 , Ward Prowse 12, Schneiderlein 15 , Cork 5 , Wanyama 15, Ramirez 12 , Shaw 20, Lovren 18 , Clyne 10, Chambers 5 puts our squad at about 150 market value including chump change for the others, I dont think any of those prices are unreasonable , personally i feel some are far to conseravtive but as I expect some opposition to it I always knocked off a few million.
  15. Have to take into account that teams with nothing to play for eg us newcastle towards the end of the season will give up points to those with a huge desire for them. Thats how wigan survived for so many years]
  16. He needs a rest . Since the city game he must have started nearly every game and hes never been the most mobile at the best of times. Rest him for the cup and arsenal with ossie having yeovil to get back fit then chase down the arsenal defence quicker than rickie can . A player of rickies age shouldnt play every game especially over christmas, fairly poor management of his fitness but to be fair to poch ossie got injured then let him down with that spat
  17. Some people are getting slightly confuse over bookies odds. Yes they raise and lower the odds based on what they think is the most likely occurance. They ALSO lower the odds based on how much money is being put on an out come e.g the more that you guys are betting on poch leaving the lower the odds get , so you think its more likely to happen so bet more / others see the odds dropping and want a piece before it gets any lower, thus creating a spiral downward of the odds. I appreciate the amoount thats being placed on by people on here is unlikely to affect the odds that much but its worth bearing in mind that the betting companys are just working from algorithims and hunches
  18. Sian Massey is easily in the top 3 assistants in the league . Can keep up with play and willing to give decisions other than offside and throw ins/goal kicks/corners. To to be fair to the other lino he was pretty good too
