  1. Did Koeman manage Alderweireld at Ajax?
  2. He does look a bit like a Monk...
  3. I hear United have, in their desperation, bid £7m for Barcelona's debutant tonight - think his name is Pußkat. Looks like he's got great agility and reflexes and of course is young, hungry and bound to improve... Anyway, here's the obligatory YouTube video: http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=AdEbpYilNvA
  4. He's the Man With No (Middle) Name, riding off into the Swiss sunset with A Fistful of Dollars...
  5. QPR probably
  6. According to The Times he's on £50k, mind you I would hardly be overjoyed if we bought him for £1.5m on £5k a week...
  7. If he scores more than 10 goals in a season at some point in his career then he will be
  8. Even last season when he was slightly less shît: Welbeck 2013/14 - 25 apps 9 goals 1 assist Long 2013/14 - 15 apps 4 goals 1 assist One played for a struggling Hull and one played for the team that came 7th, I'd say that makes those numbers comparable and really would having his magic numbers make anyone feel better about the season - especially for £15m?
  9. He was better last season, but: Welbeck 2012/13 (aged 22 ) - 27 apps 1 goal Gallagher 2013/14 (aged 18 ) - 18 apps 1 goal Both made a lot of sub appearances but one was 4 years older, vastly more experienced and playing for the Champions-to-be. Frankly I'd rather we gave Gallagher more of a chance in the team than spunk £15m on Bambi Legs...
  10. If I remember correctly. Yeah, my problem is that he seems to be a player that is difficult to defend against at first because he has a strange style but can be thwarted easily once defences get used to him. Admittedly this impression is just from the Football League Show so I am by no means claiming to be some sort of expert...
  11. Wigan wanted about £16m last time I saw him mentioned anywhere, not the best last season IIRC...
  12. http://www.rovers.co.uk/news/article/statement-jordan-rhodes-1860372.aspx Hull not getting Rhodes then...
  13. He was mediocre back when United were good, he scored 1 goal in their last title winning season ffs. I reckon I would have scored 1 goal if I'd had as many minutes as him playing as an attacker at United...
  14. I only get 1 bar inside the stadium, but then again my network is shocking so...
  15. http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/west-brom-made-brown-ideye-3909111 Neither does Alan Irvine!
  16. When we played West Ham at home last season Jaaskeleinen put in one of the best goalkeeping performances I've ever seen - could never imagine Gazza keeping out the shots he did, a spectacular save from Morgan's volley in particular...
  17. Yeah, I'm sure the Ukrainian football league will just continue as per usual... http://www.app.com/story/news/world/2014/08/20/ukraine-killed-fighting-hours/14326401/
  18. For those who cba to find Lawro's prediction: "Like Palace and West Ham, here are two more teams who played well last weekend but were a bit unlucky. West Brom played all the football against Sunderland but ended up sharing the points. And I was very impressed by Southampton despite their defeat by Liverpool. Saints were solid defensively and carried a real threat going forward. On that showing, it did not look like they were missing all the players who left over the summer. They still looked like a team, not a collection of individuals - which I thought they might be because of their turnover of players over the summer. My only reservation about Southampton is how many goals they have got in them - I know they have signed Shane Long and Graziano Pelle this summer but, unless they strengthen further, I am not sure they will be as strong up front as they are in other areas. It is the same for West Brom. They are competitive in all areas but how they do up front is what will decide whether they have another season struggling to stay up. So the pressure is on their new £10m striker Brown Ideye to deliver when he makes his competitive debut. Lawro's prediction: 2-0"
  19. Would much rather we bought Depay tbh...
  20. Those who do not know history's mistakes are doomed to repeat them...
  21. Different types of player, Long, as has been discussed isn't all about the goals but rather chance creation through being a general nuisance. Rhodes would (if we were to have bought him) be instead of Pelle and if one were to discount resale value in the future, then, at present I'd rather have Pelle...
  22. That was a bit naughty Irene, been talking to Morgan and Dejan have you?
  23. So about £4m - sounds better for a utility player...
  24. I'd prefer Biabany out of the wingers we've been linked to, he'd be much cheaper too (both fee and wages)...
  25. @DailySaintsNews: Artur Boruc has been demoted to third-choice stopper behind new signing Fraser Forster and Kelvin Davis. (Source: ESPN) #saintsfc
