  1. If they bought out a DVD of a game we lost, would you still buy it in protest against products you don't like?
  2. On Match of the Day 2, they have a feature called "2Good 2Bad" which one of our songs from Saturday featured on...
  3. When I got a couple of tickets on Friday the website was showing there were still quite a few empty seats at the back of the Itchen stand, although, having been up there for the first time I can see why! Great view, but the fans were silent up around until 7-0... Didn't stop me and my uncle making as much noise as possible, although my throat is paying the price today, sounding gruffer than Tom Waits gargling stones!
  4. Haha I saw that yesterday, thought I was just seeing things in a state of Southampton induced euphoria at first!
  5. Think Pelle seems like the kind of player that will grow in confidence with this award, and, hopefully want to show exactly why he is deserving of it. Hopefully he does so tomorrow!
  6. So 3 oclock then...!

  8. Morgan starting for France tonight, kick off in 10 mins
  9. Fingers crossed, just booked my ticket for that one today Have been in the stands for all of his Saints goals so far, so hopefully he keeps that run going!
  10. PELLE!
  11. Playing pretty well tonight, when a ball goes towards him in the air you just assume he's going to win it! Great chest control. Chuffed he's a Southampton player!
  12. This would be true, if he was being used predominantly as a striker...but he isn't!
  13. VW usually ends games with about an 85% pass accuracy, which is about average, nothing amazing but could be a lot worse. He is very effective at keeping the ball, at the QPR game there were times where he had 3 players trying to crowd him off the ball and he ploughed through as if they werent there. When he has the ball under control, he is very good at keeping hold of it, and as for 'putting in crunching tackles from time to time' - he is one of our best players at winning the ball back, second to Morgan I'd say. If he is going into a tackle, more often than not, he will come out of it with the ball. Wanyama could very easily fit into a team better than us. He isn't in our team to make decisive through balls or score 15 goals a season, we have other players for that. It is his role to win the ball back and keep it simple which, when he does that, he is amazing at.
  14. He's not worth £12m, but then Luke Shaw wasn't worth £30m, nor Lallana £25m. Hull decided what to ask from us and it was up to us to accept it, not Shane Long - so his value doesn't really come into it. We were always going to have to pay over the odds to get him as he had only just signed for them and was in their starting XI. Also, doubts over his goal contribution so far also shouldn't really be a factor as he clearly isn't being played as a striker (most of the time). He is being used by Koeman as a winger when he starts, and although he has had a few shots he could have done better with (Millwall, West Ham come to mind), he has tracked back well and never given the full backs (and goalkeepers, Tim Krul springs to mind) he's up against a moments rest. I like having him in the side, I think he has done a job so far and will continue to do so every time he has a Saints shirt on. His passing could be a bit better, but I'd rather he was playing for us than against us. Anyway, didn't you lot say that we got our £12m worth out of him just from that pass against Millwall?

  16. Got to be the same person that's got the red Peugeot that's been kitted out with Red stripes, saints badge and "sfc" in place of the car's model number! Always get stuck behind them when leaving St. Mary's...
  17. 3 wins in the league in september (from 3 games played) and one cup win, but they only count the league. Think he probably will get it, were there any other teams that won all their league games last month?
  18. Are you Alpine in disguise? ♫
  19. http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11860/9496145/transfer-news-southampton-striker-dani-osvaldo-keen-to-join-inter-milan-permanently Just a case of whether they will have him, but he seems to be scoring regularly, so I can't see why they wouldn't.
  20. He's won more aerial duels than anyone else in the league this year. As said on the forum before, you can have your own opinions, but not your own facts. On saturday his hold up play was great, trapping the ball well with his head, feet and chest. He has a good touch for a big man, good finish most of the time and, his distribution on saturday was quality. Some of the balls he were pinging over their backline and into the flanks would have made Saint Rickie proud. Were you watching a different game?
  21. You're beginning to sound like Croydon Saint
  22. Fans were in great voice on Saturday, had the hairs on the back of my neck standing up at times. Thought Wanyama was phenomenal, just got the impression he was playing at the top of his game for a place in the team - I don't remember anyone getting the ball off him the whole time he was on the pitch, even when he was being challenged by two or three QPR players! Mané at one point in the first half showed one of the best first touches I have ever seen to bring a long ball down. What a team, and what a goal from Pelle. Harry, give us a twitch? Harry, harry, give us a twitch!
  23. Better end product than Shaw so far, 1 goal and 1 assist in 6 games vs no goals or assists in 50... Shaw has the potential to be the better player, but if you asked me at the start of the summer if I would rather have Shaw or £30m and Ryan Bertrand then would be no hesitation in saying the latter. Bertrand has been amazing so far for us and I think he would want to stay, given the option.
