The trouble is that other sides seem to be more stronger as a unit. On paper we should be coasting it but in reality we are having difficulties. Too many new faces trying to bed in at the same time, too many hoofballs in order to bypass a weak midfield.
-
I hope for once we can settle scores. Roy Keane deserves everything we can muster against him tomorrow the arrogant ****.

Fonte, what a find, best player on the park by far. I also thought James had a really good game and was unlucky not to score at the end. Lallana was dissapointing for me and looked a little like he did last year, lots of endeavor but no end result. Our midfield still needs strengthening along with another forward who can keep RL company. Plus if RL gets injured, as noted by one of the commentators, we are in deep poo. Go to be the worst ref I have witnessed in a long time, how we managed to win despite him god knows.

Don't worry, you are not the only one. One of the big downsides of cyber technology as far as I'm concerned. Forums come a close 2nd

Hopefully it will remain peaceful on here for a while as it means saints are doing well. I do miss the takeover threads though!

How long will you give Pardew to get a second win?
Saint Billy replied to Mr X's topic in The Saints
Jeese, how long do we have to wait for any kind of fix let alone a quick fix. Ok, we are no longer broke as a club but despite everything we are still a club that cannot produce a run of good results. Be patient, stop whinging, give them time, these words are wearing thin after 4/5 years of going through watching this team constantly churn out ****e results. -
Despite who was at the game and who was'nt, it is very simple to form an opinion based on results. The amount if times I have heard "If we keep playing like that we will win more than we lose", complete and utter b*llicks, at the end of the day we are routed to the bottom of the table and even without the -10 we are still very close. I dont give a monkeys nut about that we are still gelling, Pardews finding his feet or even the -10, we should be at least showing signs of the wealth and support behind this club, but no, we are carrying on the same way as when we were in the championship. This vehicle saints has had a major overhaul, basically a new engine, and yet it still chugs away just like it always did. I was expecting some sort of saints revival this season, I was hoping for some exciting appointments and playing staff, I was hoping that saints climb up the table was being noticed by the media, but no, different setup, same old limp dross.

Lets face it, despite all the optimism of a new owner, new manager etc, the actual team are still as crap as they have ever been. I dont think enough money has been spent on this side to be good enough to escape relegation let alone a mid table outfit. There are no excuses now, we have the funds, we are debt free, we have a great stadium and training facilities, and we are still S H I T E !

Live Deadline Day Transfer Rumours from Daily Echo
Saint Billy replied to ruddick's topic in The Saints
I thinks Notts C are the front runners! -
Levitation has been adopted by saints as the way to beat their lack of height in the box. Unfortunately, as this picture proves, by the time Trotman had reached the desired height the ball had passed him by.
-
Overall not a bad result. Patterson is going to be a bit special if he gets the service, Harding, best player for saints on the day, Murty is going to be Mr reliable. Schneiderlin looked good in the first half but went totally out of the game in the second. Davies double save was excellent but was a bit surprised he did'nt get to their second. 3-4 players short but if we get the right men I think we could surprise a few this season. Whats concerns me is the same old characteristic of not being able to hold a lead and letting the old nerves kick in, hopefully Pardew and the new signings will sort that one out.

Hopefully not in the saints dressing room.

http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/forum/showpost.php?p=396745&postcount=42 Thats a bit more like it if confirmed! Surely, if decent signings cannot be made by freebies or loans this has to be the way to go.

Agreed! Am I correct in thinking that even AP stated he is aiming at promotion this season?
-
Oh behave. In this new era of sfc, some of us are anxious to see a competitive side put together asap. Time is not our friend, nor is a weak team, nor is starting on -10. Half the team has been sold or has left. We historically start the season badly, for the last few seasons we have always started with a team that is gelling. No one is slating AP, just some are getting anxious bearing in mind the past. This is an open forum right, used for expressing opinions. If you want us to use it for information only, not possible atm, there is little on there.

I have to admit that I am now a little nervous with the lack of movement with regards to new signings and staff especially after last nights defeat at Farnborough, which has proven (if we need any) that we are very weak as far as backup is concerned. Although some are stating that we have got till the end of Aug when the transfer window ends, is'nt it important that we get off to the best possible start to narrow down the -10 asap. I still have every faith in AP and hopefully he is keeping his cards close to his chest, but what is a worry is that even throwing about a bit of cash may not be enough to get good enough players to join a league 1 club on -10.
-
Both are important to me. I am old enough to remember and experience England winning the world cup and saints winning the fa cup 10 years later. There is absolutely no need to choose, there does not have to be a compromise, none effects the other. I am proud to be English and I am proud to support saints. What is ruining the international game is the obscene amounts of money these guys are earning primarily with their clubs which I think is clouding many peoples decision with regard to club or country which is understandable.
