Well thankfully you rarely mention those reservations. You know, I was doubtful when Pardew was sacked. I thought Cortese was wrong. But when Pardew left we were 14th with 4 points from 3 games (1.33 points per game). We're now 5th and have 45 points from 23 games under Adkins (1.96 points per game). Last season we had 83 points from 46 (1.8 points per game). So there's not much to choose between them but Adkins just shades it.

Brighton have consistently done well since the start of the season. We had a poor start, have sometimes played brilliantly since and have sometimes been extremely average and, occasionally, poor. At the moment, it's Brighton who are in the driving seat and if they keep up the form they've had all season they will win the championship. But there are 17 games to go and injuries or a run of poor form could see them stutter. I don't know who's the best manager. But we have the one we have and he's doing pretty well. Changing our manager again will certainly mean we don't go up so why not just wait and see how it turns out instead of carping? Poyet has been there a while and had more chance to shape the team than Adkins has. I didn't particularly enjoy their style of play against us last year - very niggly. But they are doing well. I'm reasonably confident we will also do well in most of the rest of our games. We'll see who has the stronger finish come May. Personally, I don't mind us finishing second.

Seriously, you think 6 wins, 1 draw and 1 loss is not impressive? It's exactly the same record as Man Utd's last six games.

I think you're getting confused with some of the plans for Stoneham. A running track was mooted there although I can't remember whether it was to surround the pitch or be in an adjacent facility.

Could you give us some insight into why you've chosen to believe this rumour above all the others (Oxo to Man U or Liverpool for £10m, Oxo to Stoke, Oxo to Spurs, Oxo to Pompey)? While you're at it, could you explain why you believe a story in the Mail above Adkins apparently going on record yesterday that he was confident that Alex wouldn't be going anywhere during this transfer window? I know the Mail used to be the chosen place for leaks during the Lowe years but he's been gone for a while now and, as we know from the staggering amount of rumours (on here and elsewhere) that turn out to be untrue, the new regime does not leak.

It wasn't long ago that we'd all have been worried that our manager would be off to somewhere like Charlton or Palace (or even Newcastle, which he was, but not in the same way!) That doesn't seem to be a worry any more. And this is not because he's not good enough. Good innit.

That football is completely mad. As has been stated. If Charlton had won yesterday they'd have the same points total as us. And they've been above us for most of the season. I can't see how bringing in a new manager is going to improve them if they have no money to improve the squad.
