Upsetting Alpine.

Hooray. At 16:20 DM: What Saints mustn't do is concede a goal.

How annoying would it be to go out for a drink with that commentator at Farnborough? "I'LL HAVE A PINT!" "I HAVE TO GO TO THE GENTS!" "LOOK! THAT BLOKE HAS JUST WON 50p ON THE FRUIT MACHINE!" "I CAN'T BELIEVE HOW EXCITING THIS PUB IS!"

Bump.

We will walk this league because we scored (twice) against Huddersfield.
-
A seasonal ho, ho, ho.
-
All on the bench.
-
Team: Davis, Butterfield, Jaidi, Fonte, Harding, Chamberlain, Hammond, Schneiderlin, Lallana, Guly, Lambert Impact players: Bialkowski, Richardson, Dickson, Barnard, Seaborne, Connolly, Chaplow

Disappointing. And very cold. We were poor and missed Fonte, Barnard and Chaplow. On the bright side, I can only recall Kelvin having to make two saves (which, unfortunately, he didn't). And we hit the post and had a couple of good on-target shots beaten away by the keeper. On the down side, we passed poorly, resorting to long balls to nobody in particular. Guly was good-ish, Lallana tried hard but tried to go it alone right at the end when a pass to Connolly would have been better. Lambert received the ball well and flicked it on but there was nobody there to receive it. Jaidi was slow. Chamberlain was not up to his usual standard. Referee was dreadful.

A bit harsh. The more relevant question is how was he ever allowed near a radio microphone?
-
Probably safer than leaving it around St Mary's.

You can normally park free on the street, especially if you go up the hill a bit towards Charlton Village/Blackheath. There are also some large DIY type stores with car parks the other side of the main road (Woolwich Road) from the Valley.

But did one player screw up? I think you're reading too much into it. With the exception of a couple of loanees, they're all ex-AP players.

SAINTS CELEBRATE 125 YEARS at the Mayflower Feb 13th 2011
itchen replied to mel1961red's topic in The Saints
It was looking good until I got to the bit " The night will be hosted by Southampton fan Mike Osman who will ensure plenty of laughs along the way." This would be a first. Incidentally, I can't see anything about it being for charity on the Mayflower site. Where have people seen this? -
Thank you for your contribution. Now it's time for bed.

Can I just say that what Saints don't want to do is concede a goal. I thought I'd get there before Mr Merrington says it at about 48 minutes.
-
Adkins out.
-
It's difficult to work out exactly what all this means but it seems to be saying that Chaplow and Chamberlain will be out, while Puncheon will be in. Tonight's team: Davis, Richardson, Harding, Seaborne, Fonte, Chamberlain, Chaplow, Hammond, Lallana, Barnard, Lambert.

Not up to mine.

It's still October. Brighton may continue their excellent run but, if you say they're penniless, they're probably not going to cope as well with injuries and suspensions as a better-resourced team. And I think we have a really good manager unless you can suggest somebody better who's likely to come here. But, anyway, I wouldn't really care if we finished 2nd to Brighton's (or anybody else's) first.
-
Quite agree. Even if you think he's not playing well, booing him is not likely to make him play better. It's not as though he isn't trying or can't be bothered. The opposite is true, if anything.

If only.

How much would you be prepared to spend for a Saints Web subscription?
itchen replied to 1976_Child's topic in The Saints
I took a while to renew my £5 this year because I thought the board had been overwhelmed by moaners. I'm still not sure whether that was a good use of £5. But, as others have said, £5 is not even two pints of Swift One. But I have another suggestion. How about charging per post? Just a nominal amount - say 1p? Under this scheme I'd owe about £7.93 while another poster (taken at random, of course) might owe £147.54. It might lead some of us to think a little more about whether the world really needs our opinion on absolutely every topic. I may not be entirely serious.
