It was interesting reading until point 6. Rather sad that you take the time to post on here with such a gloating, arrogant stance. Hope you got a thrill out if it.

Performances were pretty poor during that bad run and for the first half of the season the team didn't seem "themselves". Who knows. But I got the feeling things weren't great behind the scenes.
-
With all this talk of ambition perhaps the club look back at the season and feel that Ron didn't live up to theirs. There was a clear chance at top four with many big teams not firing on all cylinders, that run of bad form really scuppered what was an ideal opportunity, look how close we actually got. Incredibly close! Combine that with the failed cup competitions, and the way we bombed out of the European Cup playing some truly, embarrassingly bad football - perhaps Les and co might feel Ron didn't deliver, despite a great finishing position in the end. I'm sure Les was joking when he said "ok", but perhaps deep down that's what he really means, "he did okay but not as well as he should have". I wonder if he will wax Lyrical about Koeman's coaching ability in a season or two, the way he did with Poch recently?

If Pellegrini and FdB want the kind of wages that Ron has just got they might be out of work for a while.
-
In which case do we presume he's already been up to Everton, signed, filmed an interview and done a photo-shoot? Otherwise he won't be unveiled until he's back from his hols.

We're a high class shop window with some very rich customers. We're also very easy to walk away from.
-
Perhaps the agent in question is the reason we are steering clear of De Boer? Or more likely, Guan hasn't had all the names passed to him.
-
Having thought about my earlier comment, the really scary thing is that Davey could become a reality! He wouldn't get poached, and would hang around to take on the "project".
-
Well at least he wouldn't run off to Barca or Man U or.....anyone in fact. He'd be ours, all ours forever and ever....
-
What about, to the tune of Ebony and Ivory - "Emery and St Mary's, go together in perfect - harmonyyy" Don't shut the door, I'm following you out..........
-
Well I will try to be optimistic without feeling deluded then
-
Everything you say makes sense, but why not go to Everton then with all the money they have? Plus there is PSG interest............ Would be bloomin' brilliant though!
-
God, he'd be f****** brilliant!!!! Looks so hands on, inspirational and passionate. Thanks for posting Can't see why he'd come here though, bigger fish to fry surely
-
Yeah, them as well!! I've got a thing about Lennon, was surprised when Everton took him. Well, that's Ron's problem now
-
Yeah, I agree. The sports press that don't like him will have the knives out straight away. Still, if the club have him as a possible candidate they must have good reason.
-
Judging by those comments and his problems with the likes of Ashton and Samuel I'd be surprised if he wanted to come back.
-
Interesting choice of user name you've got there

In my opinion it would not matter how much money the club throws at Ron's "ambition", he would still leave once a bigger job came along (more money). He can set the bar of ambition as high as he likes and no matter what the club offers it's easy for him to say it doesn't match his vision. He surely knew when he joined what kind of club Saints are and the way they operate financially, trying to change that to suit his own short term ambitions and reputation isn't going to happen. The club isn't going to change how they operate to satisfy one person who will likely leave in a year's time. Ron wants access to the big time, he's ambitious, that's fine, but it shouldn't be used as a stick to beat the club just because they can't match the lofty heights he imagines he can reach.

Vic expected. Sadio - not a chance.
-
I'm thinking along the same lines. Good pedigree, attractive football, well respected as a player, looking for a job in the prem and perhaps the smoothest transition we can hope for after Ron (keeping it Dutch etc)

I know it's the opinion of one man but reading this article makes me think he's not the bloke we want; https://www.theguardian.com/football/2015/may/18/andre-villas-boas-zenit-st-petersburg-russian-premier-league-criticism-boris-chukhlov Negative football and ignoring the academy/youth.
