probably not a popular opinion but it would be good to release the news just before kick off on Saturday - would certainly get the fans going. Maybe a couple of contract extensions between now and Saturday would give us our fill for the week.

We aren't idiots basically, I imagine the club has a fair amount to spend if they want - but if you announce you're going to pay £20m for a striker suddenly Ayew costs £20m. If you say you have a £100m warchest you can get Bolasie, Williams & Kone for the best part of £60m. it's quite clear that to do well you need to be really well run, and if you're a small club with a finite resources you have to be even better run. I reckon we'll get 1 more in winger or AMC and that will be it - I think a lot of the money will have been spend on ensuring we get full value for our players next season - VVD/Forster/JWP etc. Signing VVD up for 6 more years was not going to be cheap.

You should get used to it and embrace it - it's never going to change!

I'll be amazed if uncle Les can sign Rafa Silva, Lorenzo Insigne, Felipe Anderson or Iker Munain. Watching Everton fans go into meltdown when the get Bolasie instead would be worth the transfer fee. Markus Rog, Bruma or Manolo Gabbiadini seem more plausible.

High Tempo to retain possession and controlling a game via possession is pretty much the perfect tactic to win the vast majority of games - yes its hard to do, but at least aim to play like that.

Not so sure - people deceive themselves about a lot of things in their day to day lives - so i see no reason gambling would be different. In the states most people have a certain % of their salary they are happy to lose gambling for fun - which certainly would be the case for people in the UK too. Chopra etc.

Gambler's fallacy is that if a coin came up heads 5 times in a row that it would be more likely to come up heads next. If you have pre-described what will happen - that it will be 5 heads then a tail you can work out the probability as the events haven't happened yet. The same thing happens with roulette and other table games - people sit down waiting for loads of of 1 thing and then get convinced it happens in patterns. Then they normally apply a martingale strategy - basically they wait for 5 reds before betting black and doubling when they lose as 'it can't come up red 10 times in a row or whatever is required to bankrupt them' and then they make a small amount of money till eventually they lose everything. lots of morons out there.

Dost would be cheap - seem to remember we bid £9euros for him and it was rejected. One of the ITK said we had an offer accepted but it was with the player - hope it's Tello or Boufal. I wonder if these contract extensions help us in some way towards FFP - i know you are only allowed to increase your wage bill each year by x% and if you increase profit you can increase it further. So is this just all future planning to get the most value from our players and then say we sell 2 people next year give us the opportunity to sign some bigger names/fees to replace them as their wages won't break FFP?
