  1. If you end up getting sacked in the close season after keeping one of the favourites for relegation in the premier league, mostly because your son ends up having a racist orgy on a trip paid for by the club - then your an ostrich.
  2. There is going to be huge pressure on that entire club when they go to stoke - they got pounded there in the last game they played and then after that they have Arsenal and UTD in the next 4 games, both away. I think Liverpool are going to massively struggle (For a top 6 side) as they have failed to deal with their insane amount of goals they concede. *unless they can hire better coaching staff and defenders in the summer.
  3. I think with their starting run of games - them finishing above us is not a guarantee by any means. I still hope UTD think **** it lets get him and he leaves Scousehampton in the dirt - but I'm a biased fan!
  4. Morgan is pretty destructive as a midfielder which is what i was getting at, our defence was so good as Morgan and Vic never let anyone get at them. Gregorz/Song/Clasie - any of those three could fill a morgan shaped hole with cabaye where stevie D plays now. Obv wanyama is amazing.
  5. Cabaye would be a pretty sick signing - summer could end up looking like this Juanmi - £5m Cedric - £3m Stekelenberg - Wages Cabaye - £9m Toby - £18m Midfield Cruncher - 15m Young RB - 2m total £52m Clyne & Morgan off - £40m. Net out lay £12m + wages. Would give us enough depth to maintain, maybe push up 1 or 3!, league position and hopefully a couple of decent cup runs.
  6. I really hope united come in and bid for him and then Liverpool match the offer - swiftly followed by Clyne saying "good one" before heading to Old Trafford. Signing an extensions with a £25 mil release clause obv the best result though.
  7. That seems to show that squad value and average age can indicate pretty accurately where a club will finish. It seems to make a bit of a mockery of all the managers who come up from the championship and then start spouting off about having "experience" in the side - undoubtedly on the highest wages, rather than buying cheap talent from the championship or Europe. Or better yet training your own.
  8. A/B - Definitely swing past Turtle Bay for some food - either before or after. http://www.turtlebay.co.uk/locations/southampton/
  9. It's this sort of logic that convinced hull to essentially swap Long for Hernandez. But what would of happened if he scored 30 goals?!?! He didn't, they got relegated.
  10. There would be literally no point in signing him. We would never be able to afford his wages down the line, so he would never come here permanently. So we would be essentially developing a player for free whilst hindering our own youth players whose spot he would be taking. Also from the sounds of it, he and his family have let this all go to his head and he looks like a disaster waiting to happen. He turned us down for £80k/week in Madrid - he made his bed, no pun intended, now he can lie in it.
  11. I can see us keeping Morgan and Clyne this summer - unless Man U buy them both, there don't seem to be any other great options for them - maybe arsenal for Morgan. If they stay & sign they will undoubtedly have £25m-£30m release clauses. Irritatingly I imagine we don't end up signing Toby and Chelsea do as it seems like a no brainer for them - there is a chance they might loan him to us for 3 years before selling him for £50 million to PSG though. If we could get Clasie (£12m- £15m), Austin (£10m), Van Dijk (£8m-£10m) and then loan one of Steklenberg or Szczczczczczzczney. That would give: GK - Stek or Szney / Forster / Gazzaniga DF - Bertrand/Targett - Fonte/VanDijk/Yoshida/Gardos - Clyne/U21's Player MF/AMF - Wanyama/Morgan/Claise/Reed/JWP/StevieD - i think Morgan or Clasie could work well as a more advanced midfielder, particularly with quick runners like Long/Mane/JRod. Forwards - Mane/Long/JRod/Tadic Str - Pelle/Austin Spend £30m~, get rid of the loan players. I think Morgan would do well more advanced and as we, hopefully, will have more games from Europa league meaning better options to play our more junior members in competitive games which should improve them - viz a viz Hurricane.
  12. I'm pretty sure most of them correctly believe the root cause was the police and marshalling of the game.
  13. If knocking down ticket prices by 25% meant we put our average attendance up by 2000 we sould only have a 10-15% drop in ticket revenues with additional match day purchases - this is assuming people spend £5 in the ground. Would be interesting to know the average spend per head on match days. There are other benefits to haveing a full stadium every week which are hard to quantify off the bat - but wouldn't be surprised if they meant it was close to break even.
  14. JWP has been standout. it's difficult in a game like this for pelle to standout. Tadic looks class. Vic has been standard greatness and yoshida has justified being the back up cb. Liverpool have been average. Stevie d solid as always - our season will be dictated by how quickly JWP, tadic and pelle get it on!!! COYS!!!!!!!

  16. Maybe team would be a better word to use. The key to our recent success was that the majority of the players had been playing together for a long time, as well as being good. It will take a while for new players to bed in and all start playing on the same wave length - if you think this will happen in a season it's just naieve, look at Tottenham last season etc.. The best situation we can get into is if we can get a strong core working together this season and look to bring in 1-2 improvements each window to continue to improve - coupled with not selling our best players. This is why arsenal will challenge for the title this year and Liverpool won't get top 4.
  17. Keep us up and allow koeman to spend well in this as well as the next transfer windows - so he can rebuild the squad over the coming years. I suspect it will take 2-3 years to get a squad stronger than the one we just sold.
  18. It's not like he was bought to play against the top 8 in the league. He's only going to get played in the FA Cup, league Cup and when they come back from Europe and have stoke at home. Absolute steal for 4 mil, considering the rest they will be able to give Sturridge now.
