  1. I’m glad that I never played in any of your games then Whitey! I used to get stuck in but rarely came off the pitch like that. If you look closely at the larger cut it looks like he has had a stitch. Not sure that qualifies as only a scrape?
  2. It didn’t look worse watching it on tv and I thought yellow was a fair call until I saw the state of Laporte’s thigh. I don’t think it was intentional but when you look at the gash Stuey left it is hard to argue that it wasn’t reckless and he is lucky not to have got a red after the review.
  3. We live in a technological age. Without access to the internet you cannot claim Universal Credit. Many jobs can only be accessed online. Online banking is becoming the normal. We get more and more information from our smart phones. Many people cannot get to work without a car. Thanks to the national transport system now cars are the only options for many people to get around. As you say, throw in the ridiculous cost of housing and more and more people are struggling to afford the things that we all need to live our lives in the 21st century.
  4. Apart from Redmond’s assist and defensive work?
  5. Yes we do. Get vaccinated against covid. 😩
  6. What is strange Brett is you pretending that you have met me or that you are not Delldays and Batman. That is very, very, very strange. What is also very strange is the fact that you single me out when there are plenty of others here who dislike this government and frequently comment on it. Where you are wrong here is in saying no matter what they do. If they did anything worth commending I would commend them for it. Sadly the decent Tories have all been marginalised and we have a bunch of useless incompetents in the cabinet since Johnson was given the top job.
  7. I agree. I would like to see some kind of Labour/LibDem/Green coalition. It will take a while for the mess of the last decade plus to be overturned but the first thing to do is get this lot out. If it means Johnson staying in power for a while longer in order for more votes to be lost it will be well worth it in the long run. Johnson is clearly an embarrassment and is and has always been a self serving incompetent, but when he goes there are still the likes of Patel, Raab, Rees-Mogg, Hancock, Truss, Gove etc lurking around. Johnson is just one part of the problem
  8. Two pathological liars. Which one to believe ? 🙄 Perhaps we should think about the fact that the man who made the rules probably didn’t need someone to explain them to him. Still, I am sure it amused you Brett.
  9. My brother is a Fulham supporter and was afraid that a Prem club was going to take him last summer. He really rates him.
  10. Not sure what that has to do with it? He was the PM’s main advisor wasn't he, employed by him? Brilliant rant by the way. It’s good to hear someone say on the radio what most normal people are thinking.

    Coronavirus

I wonder if any of this bunch post here? https://amp.theguardian.com/uk-news/2022/jan/15/concern-for-uk-security-as-anti-vaxxer-groups-evolve-towards-us-style-militias
  12. Do you ever stop to read what you have written? I used to think you were just a WUM and posted this stuff to amuse yourself, but I am beginning to think you are really serious.
  13. I love the story about using a suitcase to collect the booze in rather than plastic bags as it cuts down on the ‘clinking’. Proper hardcore!
  14. Defender sent off early on. Sound familiar?
  15. Different circumstances. Valery prevented a player going through on goal which is pretty much a nailed on yellow if not a red.
  16. Hi Brett, tell me, what do you think is more valuable to our society? A newspaper publisher that has been fighting for social equality for 201 years or some bloke who constantly gets himself banned from an internet football forum and reappears in another guise, swearing blind that he is not who we all know he is? It’s a shame they don’t give knighthoods to those who serve fry ups to our brave submariners isn’t it or you would have a decent come back. Still, carry on fighting the good fight against Johnny Foreigner and anyone or any thing remotely liberal.
  17. Meaning? Between them I spent 30 years of my working life between The Guardian and the CPS and am immensely proud of having worked for both of these organisations.
  18. I am not a lawyer so no, I didn’t actually, personally prosecute anyone myself “hun”. For most of my time there I managed staff who worked alongside the lawyers on a daily basis. The admin staff and the paralegals. Without them there would be no cases to prosecute as they do all of the legwork for the prosecutors including liaising with the courts, the police, the probation service etc.Not once have I bigged up my role. I was part of a team who prosecuted cases from simple theft up to rape and murder (and yes, that includes DV cases obviously). Yes, papers get file away. They get filled in most businesses, although a lot of it is done electronically now. But if you stopped to think about it for a moment instead of going off on one of your usual self promoting attempts to run another person down, there is a great deal more that goes on in bringing a case to court than just filing papers. When working from Medway Nick for most of the time there I was the most senior CPS manager in the building as the Chief Prosecutor spent her time between offices, so yes, I did a bit more than file papers away and make tea. It takes a large team of people to bring a prosecution to court and everyone of them plays an important role. Given that you have got so much time on your hands to search through very old posts, perhaps you have nothing better to do with your time, not even filing away papers? Or do they pay people for being WUMs on Internet forums nowadays? Enjoy your day “hun”. Perhaps you can find yourself something more worthwhile to do with your time for a change instead of making a mug of yourself on a football forum? edit i didn’t answer one of your points and as you seem to be too busy trying to catch me out to engage your brain - here we go. If you have a team of 16 paralegals (caseworkers) and the work is hived off to form a special unit to cover the Rape and Serious Sexual Cases only, say 4 paralegals, why would you bring in another person to manage them? If you have been so diligently reading my old posts you will know that we constantly had to reduce our staffing levels. Wouldn’t it make sense to leave me as their line manager? (Don’t answer that by the way, it is a rhetorical question and I’m sure that even you can see the logic) 😘
  19. Yes Turkish, I am sure you are right and it is far better just to sit on the sidelines and snipe at those trying to change things. As for being pious and “giving it large about what we should be doing”, if you are aiming this particular jibe at me, I spent 8 years of my life prosecuting people for things like knife crime and hate crime (racism) so I think I have done a bit more than just given my approval on a football forum. What have you done apart from make unhelpful comments on a football forum?
  20. People are talking about it so it seems to me that it has raised awareness - which surely was the point. It’s the same with everything. No matter what people do there is always criticism of the way it is done. At least some people are trying to change things. Maybe we should spend more time supporting good causes than picking apart the way they are carried out? I’m sure you mean well and this isn’t particularly aimed at you, but I am sure you get my point. This isn’t about how well Arsenal organised their awareness raising campaign about knife crime. It is about raising awareness about knife crime and trying to do something about it. Just once it would be great to see someone launch a campaign and for everybody to get behind it without nit-picking or finding a reason to diss it. Everything could be done better. The fact that it is being done is what we should be focussing on.
  21. I was thinking the same. It was strange enough to read pages of posts from people who say they aren’t racist complaining about other non racists highlighting the issue of racism, but who on earth could have an issue about raising awareness of knife crime? We hear a lot about how football has sold its soul and that players are just a load of pampered wusses, but when the likes of Rashford tries to do some good for underprivileged kids, or players make a gesture in support of anti racism or a club does something to raise awareness about the problems of knife crime, some find the need to take issue with it. What goes on in some people’s minds that makes what people try and do about things like hungry children, racism or teenagers sticking knives in each other more of an issue then the issues themselves? No doubt I will get stick from some quarters for posting this (which kind of proves my point).
  22. It sounds like an injury he picked up in the last game from a kick on the knee. He had cartilage damage and some fluid on the knee which is now showing a tear in the cartilage which will either repair itself or need surgery. From what Ralph is saying it sounds like he fears that surgery might be needed.
  23. Makes you wonder why the club bother employing highly trained medical staff when all they need to do is to come on here for advice 😉
  24. There was absolutely no need for him to make any kind of contact and give the player a chance to go down. As soon as it happened in real time it was obvious he was off. Like Salisu the game before, after the first yellow you just knew there would be a sending off. Just use your brain. Even if he hadn’t had a heavy touch and was through on goal, it is always better to leave it to the keeper to deal with and if they score we still have 11 men on the pitch. Very unprofessional and probably shows why his career keeps stalling.
  25. Sex appeal? Wow. Most Tory women are less appealing than the men. Still, a number found Thatcher appealing so that tells you all you need to know about Tory boys. Perhaps it is all that private education that causes them to grow up with a dominatrix fetish?
