  1. Your wife and her family must be so proud of you.
  2. But we are not talking about me. We are talking about your assertion that you would speak out against poor behaviour by people of the same political persuasion as yourself when clearly that is not true as there was not a peep from you about Benjamin's deeply unpleasant comments. Seems that hypocrisy is not just the domain of the “lefties.”
  3. Remind me Duckie, did you speak out against Carl Benjamin’s “wouldn’t even rape” comment? I am guessing not after your “9 pinter” comment.
  4. Loved the Norway v Australia game last night. England need to cut out the sloppy play.
  5. Loved the Norway v Australia game last night. England need to cut out the sloppy play.
  6. Football Fancast have both our home and away kits in their list of best kits of next season.
  7. I’m impressed with your optimism Duckie, but I fear that Brexit will do for Boris/Jeremy and the Blue Rinsers.
  8. My bad. Assumed that the rude word police would blank out vag! Fannyphobe, great expression! Duckie, if you don’t like them hairy I hear that verdant lady gardens are back in vogue.
  9. I think anything with a brain and a vag*na would scare you Duckie.
  10. I’m not sure on which planet Gove and Hunt could be perceived as a dream ticket. Gove is a slimy piece of work. Whatever you think of Johnson that stab in the back was deeply unpleasant. Hunt has had a less than stellar ministerial career and probably should have been removed to the back benches a long time ago. As for Johnson, God help us. We were on the edge of a possible interesting period of electoral reform a few years ago, but Clegg made the wrong choice and now we are stuck with these clowns.
  11. Wes is right UJ. It makes no difference if Gove and Hunt had colluded or not, Boris was always going to have enough votes to make the final two. All that is left now is for The Blue Rinse Brigade to decide who is the least objectionable between Johnson and Hunt. I’m quite looking forward to a Labour/LibDem coalition at the end of the year. We desperately need a new direction in this country. When people start talking about deciding between Hunt and Johnson for PM you know things are bad.
  12. It still doesn’t alter the fact that the Tories, and the people who voted for them, are 100% responsible for the state of the country. Both parties clearly have deep ideological divisions which have been exacerbated by Brexit but only one party is in power and it doesn’t really matter how weak or strong the opposition is, the Government do exactly what they want to do. Neither party is in a position of strength so long as Brexit remains unsorted. In the meantime we have a lame duck Government limping along and continuing to run the country into the ground thanks to the money they found down the back of the sofa to buy the support of the DUP. And Jeff, what are you on about? They couldn’t join forces against Johnson because one of them (or Johnson) was always going to be voted out this evening. If one of them had stood down (pointless exercise) it would not have made the slightest difference to Johnson given the support he has. It was always only about the 2 who are left standing, well, not really as Johnson seems to have had it sown up from day 1.
  13. To blame the opposition for the state we are currently in is Trumpism at its finest. How can you blame Labour for Cameron, May and now Johnson, Gove or Hunt? The Tories have been architects of their own downfall, and fall they will.
  14. And the Tory years of austerity have not been bitter medicine? You think that socialism is dangerous yet your beloved right wing politics have royally screwed this country. The only good thing about what is happening right now is that it might **** the Tories for years.
  15. Indeed! It was a mess last night, but then it was always going to be. Brexit remains a minefield for whoever gets the job and it is clear that none of them has a clue how to take us forward. Stewart makes a refreshing change in that he is trying to be the kind of politician we would all like to see more of - someone who tries to answer question without resulting to b/s or lies. It was nice to see Jarvis give him a hug at the end. Two candidates who showed some humanity on the programme unlike the other three political robots. Stewart won’t win sadly as he is not an amoral ar5ehole. The Tory Party will get the leader they deserve and the rest of us will go on suffering under their discredited and anti-social policies. Boris looks home and dry, a PM that you wouldn’t buy a used car from. Two narcissistic, empty headed buffoons running two major world powers, truth can often be stranger than fiction. Even Charlie Brookner would struggle to come up with anything that the western world is having to endure at the moment. If this isn’t bad enough we have a no deal Brexit to look forward to. That’s when the fun will really start.
  16. How would you describe a Tory party member who calls Rory Stewart a LibDem?
  17. Only for those of you from the far right.
  18. It is indeed, especially as that fine democracy Nigel Farage has said many times that he would have continued to fight for Brexit if they had lost by the same margin.
  19. I’d be worried if Ralph had problems with Gao but looking at his recent article it seems as if he is perfectly happy here and with the situation. He will know better than any poster here what is going on within the club and doesn’t look like the kind of guy who would keep his mouth shut if he thought anything dodgy was going on.
  20. Which given that Stewart is the least objectionable of the bunch, tells you all you need to know about the Tory party right now.
  21. USA look miles ahead of everyone else. They haven’t been really tested yet though and it will be interesting to see what they are like defensively if a side ever gets to put them under some pressure. The Swedes should give them a tougher test.
  22. Trust me Duckie, it is entirely possible to enjoy the works of the Bard without speaking medieval English on internet forums every day. Likewise it is possible to enjoy The Beatles without slipping into a mock Scouse accent. People stopped calling women "Birds" and "Chicks" in the last century. You are not transcending the generations, you are stuck in a time warp. She sowed the see As for Thatcher, I voted for her first time round but have not made that mistake since and that was the last time I voted Tory. She sowed the seeds of divisiveness in this country, spawning the Yuppie ("Me") generation. She royally f**ked industry here, something that we will never get back again. Thanks to her we have moved on from being a nation of shopkeepers to being a nation of baristas. And now The Blue Rinse Brigade is going to land us with Boris effin Johnson!
  23. I know, but when you listen to people talk about who they voted for it is usually the leader they mention as in Thatcher, Blair etc. I can’t recall the last time anyone said they voted for their actual MP in a conversation about elections. In fact I wouldn’t be surprised if many people had no idea who their MP is. There are people who say they always vote Labour but don’t do so as long as Cronyn is the Party leader. Unless he is their standing MP, why does it make a difference? Because we vote, or don’t vote, for personalities. Many Tories want Johnson to win because they believe he can win the next election. If it was just a question of a party vote, why is it so important who the leader is? If Farage was a Tory, can you imagine the fallout if he became their next leader and our Prime Minister? I have voted for all three main parties in various elections over the years, but mostly for the LibDems. Despite still believing in their policies I have voted tactically recently because of Clegg and the coalition. I don’t have a problem with my local LD candidate.
  24. I wish you were joking Duckie, but sadly you confirm everyday on here that you are stuck in the parody of a bigoted 70’s British male. What I find more surprising is that you are actually younger than me. You come across in your language and beliefs as someone born in the 40’s. I have to tell you that the world of Sweaties, Birds, Chicks, Lefties, Pinkos etc ended a long time ago. Sadly you and many of your ilk will get to chose the next Prime Minister. Quite ironic given how you lot bleat about Remainers being undemocratic. I can’t think of a less democratic way of choosing our PM.
  25. Thanks John. The picture of the Albany rings a bell. I also remember being very impressed as a young lad that Follands were responsible for the Red Arrows in those days. During one visit I remember a fair in the park close to the Albany. I may well have been an annual thing as it was a Bank Holiday. In later years when I used to drive down to see Saints games at The Dell from the Bromley area I used the Albany as a land mark as to where to park my car (a red and white Triumph Herald no less!). Happy days!
