Whatever happens now, this has been an incredible season. After what happened last summer many thought that the club had imploded and were bound for relegation. However, we are two winds short of joint second at the moment and have played very well. Ok, two periods of dips in form but in both those times we have not been played off the park. I see lots of criticism for players like Forster,Tadic, Pelle and JWP yet without them we would not be where we are. Even RK has come in for some stick of late. No one is above criticism and I accept that. But I also think that we should remind ourselves of where we were a few short years ago, what happened last summer, and be thankful that we can even think that CL or Europa football is within our grasp for next season. Even if we don't make either, the fact that we have been challenging for either is no small feat this season.

Rodriguez given the all-clear and set to return next month

It is a shame. We are only, what, 6 points off second place. Imagine where we would be if he had been fit all season. -

So according to Ron in the Echo we aren't likely to see JRod anytime soon. -

Wasn't the complaint on here that the team weren't shooting enough? -
Does that mean that Ronnie doesn't rate Toby either? Both have just come back from injury and I think that Long will feature tonight. It is a squad not just a team.

Pelle needs support and someone close to play off him.

Indeed not CB.

So what did Matty have to say then? Anyone hear it?
-
Not saying that he made many wrong decisions although he did make many unpopular decisions.

I suppose they don't get so much flak because they seem to be making good decisions.

England footballer 'arrested over underage sex allegations'
sadoldgit replied to Twiggy's topic in The Lounge
But he is not in France is her? In some counties it is lower than 15. That is not the point. The law of this land says the age of consent is 16. It is no defence to say but if I sh@gged her in France I would be ok. -
Playing in a time when players were as hard as nails, one of the true tough guys. Terrific player too. RIP.

At least they are taking responsibility and talking about the issue. -

Yep, then they could have stabbed him to death and saved ammo. Doesn't this sort of thing bother you?

It isn't immigrants as much as the general population explosion in this country. We cant limit the number of children have though so how do we control the numbers?

The season is the sum of its parts. Every dropped point plays its part, not just the recent ones. The only league position that counts is the final one. We are not suddenly a poor team or are playing badly, but our form in front of goal has been poor. Add that to some of the amazing goals that have been scored against us and that is a problem. I would be more worried if we were being played off the park every week, but we aren't. If we could pay the wages of the so called big clubs then maybe we would have the strength of depth in the squad needed to maintain consistent results across the season. I think we all knew that the big clubs would get their act together by this stage of the season. I still think we are having a really good season given everything that happened last summer.

We also had some crucial long term injuries to key players.

I don't buy the idea that there is plenty of room in this country. The roads and the infrastructure cannot cope with what we have already. Yes there are lots of lovely green fields but they are needed to provide food. You cant just pave over and build on the whole of the UK (although this Government is doing its best). I have absolutely no problem with controlled immigration but it does have to be controlled. Someone also needs to take a look at what space we do have and agree a new policy over the Green Belt. We currently do not have enough schools, hospitals, public sector workers etc to give a decent service to those who currently live here. Something needs to change.

The lack of goals is concerning but it is not although we are not making chances. Pelle had two golden opportunities but is clearly low on confidence. Mane and Elia had chances too. If we were playing badly I would worry but we aren't. United have been very poor for me this season but still seem to win matches. That is football I'm afraid.
