Do we ever really know what we get or pay for a player? Figures are bandied about all the time but I doubt if that many are bang on the mark.

If Clyne doesn't want to be here, and lets face it, he has been hedging his bets for weeks, why would you want to keep him? Good as he is he isn't consistent yet and could be another Lovren for Liverpool. I'd rather have a squad that want to be here and are committed.

You say should be but he isn't the only decent defender in the world. If he can get more elsewhere he will go elsewhere and we will find another defender. Last year there was a meltdown because we lost Lovren who was the best centre half in the world! Last year we had no ambition because we let certain players leave. As for Clyne, if he doesn't want to stay, good riddance. What is the point of keeping a player who has an eye on moving on? He has the potential to be another Lovren anyway

I think the point is that Koeman is the manager and the transfer policy is not decided by an internet forum. We can all ***** about players we don't fancy but at the end of the day the manager is the one who calls the shots. I would take his opinion of a player over an internet warrior anyday.

When you go into the main text it did say that they have lifted that gossip about Austin from the Express but if I think you would agree that if you just read the ap text it looks like it comes from the Echo. Given that both clubs finished above us and we finished above Swansea you could say that for the last season Liverpool and Tottenham were better than us and we were better than Swansea. The bigger club is the same. Which clubs have won more silverware over the years and have a bigger fan base? I started supporting Saints in 1966 and at no time in that period could I say we were a "big" club.

Sarnia, there is a big difference between being against the gun laws in America and hating America. Many of the people on this thread have said they have been to the States and enjoyed the trips. The thread is about what is wrong with America. There is plenty wrong with the UK too and we accept that. On a lighter note, a neighbour has just come back from the States and had a great time.
