So if he raped and murdered a 7 year old child you would still think of him as a legend? And while we are talking about legends, Claus is really not in the same class as Ron Davies, Mike Channon and all of the real Saints legends is he? He was also awful in our relegation season.

Indeed! I see that not only has McMenemy come out and publically supported Pardew but so has Frannie Benali. I think a lot of fair minded people see what Pardew has done for this club and want him to stay and carry on. At the end of the day posters like Alpine can whine all they like but they are in the minority. I just wish Cortese would do the decent thing and come out publically and support Pardew. We have a decent manager and we need stability. I know that there are some on here who would change the manager every few games if the could but fortunately they will never be in a postion to run a football club so they can mouth off to their hearts content.

Which actually said more about Graeme Souness than it did about Lowe. At least Lowe could spell his name right! I am still waiting for Mr Souness to say, "How can anyone called Nicola know anything about football?"
-
Hilter did that too. Still what is a bit of ethnical cleansing between friends eh?

Of course they are racist. Perhaps people would have more respect for them if they were just totally honest and came out with what they really think about "foreigners" (and surley, by definition, we are all "foreigners" somewhere?) Nasty people, nasty organisation.

Feel sorry for Duncan but this is what happens sadly. Once a Management decide they need to cut their cost base, if the Union doesn't work with them it is all over. There will only be one winner in this dispute. I saw it with the Print Unions. Union activists were either sacked or promoted into management (and then sacked later) and the union's power destroyed. No one likes to see their pay and conditions eroded but it is happening all over the country. I am now doing two jobs because my employer wants to save money. Many of the people who holidays have been ruined or travel plans disrupted could well be earning much less than the strikers, even after the change in conditions. Ok, it is a responsible job but lets face it, it is not hard. The people in my office are under incredible stress each day and eanr about £16,000 a year with no benefits whatsoever. My ex wife is married to a BA pilot and she gets free trips all round the world for nothing. He earns more than £100,000 a year more than my partner and I with combined salaries. He used to live in Spain and commute to Heathrow to do his job. Nice work if you can get it. BA have to cut their costs in order to be competitive. THis means thta many of the staff will have to take a hit. Not nice for them but it is the real world and it is happening everywhere. You shouldn't be immune to the economic downturn just because you belong to a union that can cause enough problems for the company enough to hold it to ransom. It is a trade off. You go to work and you get a package (or like most of us, just a wage). The company doesn't own its employees anything and if other companies that it is in competition with are economically more viable, if that company doesn't redress the balance it could well end up going out of business and then there will be no pay and conditions to strike about. By becoming militant the unions have played right into BAs hands. They now have a mandate to do what it takes to crush the unions and impose new pay levels and conditions. People are heartedly sick of strikes. They pay for a service and they expect to get it. Many people now will fly with other airlines because they can't trust BA any more. More lost business, more lost jobs. BA will win this battle at any cost and it is sad that people like Duncan will have to pay that price whilst many of the top union officials will continue to draw a healthy salary and just move on to their next battle with another company.

So you don't think the "horrible nazis" cleaned up areas and looked after their own environment whilst gassing the Jews, Slavs, Homosexuals, mentaly ill etc?

His heart wasn't in the job from day 1. He has admitted that himself. He used to refer to us in the 3rd party, treated the young players poorly, wasted £6m on poor signings, gavethe players a day off before the do or die relegation clincher against United, threw his toys out of the pram when he wasn't allowed to buy Morrison and didn't boter to look for another striker, refused to let Woodward near the 1st team even when we needed something to turn the team around, was apparently constantly on the phone to Mandaric when he was suposed to be managing us, gave Mandaric that infamous thumbs up after Portsmouth had beaten us soundly, b*ggered off to his spirtual home once he had made Mandaric suffer long enough, b*ggered off to Spuds once he realsied that Portsmouthe were in the cr*p (and you cant tell me that he had NOTHING to do with that £138m debt)...and is being done for tax evasion. I was one of those who thought he would be a good appointment for us but all he did was take the money and left us in the sh*t. I never heard Lowe comment on managers negatively but he was quoted as saying that Redknapp was "difficult" to work with. A lot of the usual suspects on here take great pleasure in slagging off Burley because he spent £7m and didn't get us up and on Pardew who spent £3m and didn't get us up..but in one go Redknapp sp*ked £6m down the toilet and left us bottom..yet that apparently was Lowe's falut not Rednapps. Let us just remind ouselves where some of the money went. On his crippled son. On possibly one of the worst players every to pull on a Saints shirt, Davenport and that other waste of Space Bernard. Yet we are led to believe 'Arry is a master wheeler dealer...well he certainly wheeled us out of the Premiership fast enough and wasted a lot of money on a lot of rubbish in the process. He also had the temerity to talk about the "posh" cars in the Saints car park and how he felt out of place yet he owns a very expensive property in Sandbanks... Is he a good manager? Yes. Was he good for us? No. Is he a great manager? No. Should he go to prison? Probably.

I agree 100%. Cortese seesm to come from the Lowe school of PR gaffes. He started the fire and he could quite easily put it out with a few well chosen words of support. Nothing too fancy, just that he and the manager would be sitting down to look at the plans for taking the club a stage further next season. As far as I know his only public utterance about Pardew has been negative and critical. If I have missed anything supportive then I apologise fully, but I don't think I have. Even Lawrie Mac has jumped on the bandwagon now. This could all have been nipped in the bud but is getting out of control not because of the media, but because the CEO choses to let the debate rage on. He could end it tomorrow if he wished to.

If you are frustrated by the team's sh*te performance (and how do you know living in Austria?) why don't you have a pop at the team instead of Pardew. As for his "negativity", you are having a laugh aren't you? Apart from the fact that you are the most negative bloke on the planet, go look at the stats, the points total (and add in 10 for the actual total), the goals scored, the fact that we have the leading scorer, Pardew's recent quotes in the Echo about next season, the cup win, the decent players signed...... You accuse me of having nothing to say but all you ever do is snipe, witter and criticise. You are almost silent when we win but drop a point or three and you are straight on peddling your usual tripe. There is not one manager who doesn't not make mistakes in a season, not one team that doesn't lose games that, on paper, they should win. Doesn't stop you heaping your usual bile on the poor bloke's head though does it..even though your are a very very very long was away and have to rely on 3rd hand reports to base your biggotted opinions on. It is quite obvious that you are just waiting for Pardew to trip up. We have had the best season in years, actually won something, are building for better things but you seem to find absolutey no joy in this. To read your posts they could have been written in any of the recent "dark" seasons. It was the same under Burley when we reached the play offs - constant carping, whinging and slagging. You even had a pop at the manager when we won 6-0 at Wolves FFS. Strangely though you supported wholeheartedly a manager who only manged to pick up 3 wins in 13 games? You also seem to have taken Cortese to your heart...it will be interesting to see how that little love affair plays out if he doesn't sack Pardew by Christmas if we are not 10 points clear at the top of the table. For goodness sakes man, lighten up and try and enjoy this stuff. Either that or let your doctor know that the pills he is prescibing you are not working.
-
Say that Cortese does get rid of Pardew this summer and the replacement fails not only to get us promoted but also fails to even make the play offs....where does that leave Cortese?
-
If you can't see why Alpine you really do need to get out more. Your idea of getting behind a manager is laughable and I suspect the only time you would really get behind Pardew if he was standing on the edge of a cliff. Goodness knows what the poor bloke needs to do to gain your support - win 3 in 13 maybe? Why do you put so much store in Cortese exactly? Like Lowe, he does not have a football background. He also seems to have little idea about managing a football team. Most Saints fans seems to appreciate what Pardew has done for the club this season and are looking forward to next season with lots of optimism. It is a shame that Cortese cannpt come out and back his manager and it is a shame you can't get behind a decent manager, but that is your problem.
-
Oh dear. Was it so long ago when we were all against the CEO getting involved in football matters and jsut wanted them to let the manager get on and manage? Of course you fully support Cortese Alpine, you are hoping that he is going to get rid of Pardew aren't you?
-
The real reason we didn't make the play offs is because we were docked 10 points.
-
Usual childish response. Come on, tell us Alpine, why do you revel so much in defeat or draws but seem to have a problem getting excited about wins? I also find it baffling that you are looking ahead to the first defeat of next season which you suspect wont be long coming. Got next years supply of voodoo pins ready for the Pardew doll have we Alps? Get help.
-
So the likes of Barnard, Fonte and Connolly are "fringe" players are they? Give me strength...
-
Isn't it the number of points you get rather than who you get thm from that is important. Okay we have dropped point against some "lowely" teams, but without the minus 10 we would only be 3 points off automatic promotion.
-
Spot on. It speaks volumes for Cameron an his parts lack of popularity that he/they are not streets ahead. Probablythe best we can hope for is a hung parliament.
-
To be fair, when they get into Government what experience do most MPs have of anything usual that will make them fit to govern?
-
Jesus, surely if you win the match you win the match. Not difficult unless you are C B Fry. If you are totting up the number of games Pardew has WON you need to add those cup games in. Simples.
-
Duliei and Hone I believe. He went with Jones and Bale around the time Hone said we werent going for promotion any more.
-
And you would have stayed with a chance of playing Prem footy and a huge salary increase? What about Walcott, Bale, Mills etc? It took him ages to get into the team. He was one of our best players at Cardiff but struggled to get 1st team footy the season after. A golden opportunity to futher his career comes up and he should say no?
-
No, they didn't play well. But I don't know if I can sit through another 90 minutes of watching Inter Milan's "parked bus".
-
Unlike you to be so negative Alpine. I think you are the only one looking stupid. There will be changes in the squad and it will be made stronger, but only you can see that as a negative and not a postive. The world is hardly going to end just because one player leaves.
