  1. I’m not saying there’s anything bad about it…otherwise I wouldn’t be saying there must be someone interested in a 6 month deal on loads more than we’d pay per week on a long term contract……just to bang in the goals to keep us up. I doubt it would ever be considered due to wage structure but a big name “gun for hire” even on £200k per week could be the best £4.8m we’d ever spend. I’m sending a hearty hug and pat on the back!
  2. Had a bad day? Need a Xmas cuddle? I think you know I’m referring to big name free agents who want big bucks….but if you didn’t know that, there it is for you.
  3. Err yes….but you do realise that I’m talking about professional footballers?
  4. There must be some other goal scoring, money grabbing mercenaries available for a 6 month deal?!
  5. Refreshing to see a manager happy to make major tactical and personnel changes if things aren’t working….and not waiting until the 87th minute. Fair play to him, I just hope that those who come on Boxing Day are going to get behind him and the team and give the guy a chance.
  6. What a free kick.
  7. Ref might as well just get on his knees in front of Messi.
  8. I’m not sure what actual pictures GS etc are demanding. A close up version of the picture we already have looking down the line that shows the curvature of the ball is in play?!
  9. Ronaldo got nowhere near that. Run wrong footed the keeper, but he’s still claiming it.
  10. How the hell are Iran ranked 22 in the world. I mean, what a terrible side.
  11. Regardless of whether he were to come here or not, or whether they've both played for us before, Ox is still a much better player. Theo still looks, at times, like he's never played football in his life.
  12. Let’s get Phillips match fit and ready to play in 45 degree heat. Good one Gareth.
  13. I don't see this in any way as us being resigned to relegation - how could the owners possibly take that view given we've got 24 games to go in the season and are 5 points off 11th. If we had £30m odd to spend on a striker recently, then i'm sure they'd splash the cash on a manager if they felt they were the right appointment for the club. I think the club must genuinely believe he's the right man to take us forward this season and beyond. If we were bottom, and almost cut adrift then i could possibly buy into that view but we're far from it. Get him in, get him a goalscorer, get behind the team and let's see what happens then.
  14. I don’t think we have the level of ego in the club that would make this appointment a problem for the players. The core of the team seem like level headed, grounded lads…..so I think they’ll just get on with it. Any managerial appointment is a risk, so let’s see how he wants to set this team up and play football before we go in on him. Apart from a decent finisher, he’s got a good squad to work with so it’ll be interesting to watch things unfold on the pitch.
  15. I was done with Redmond during that game in lockdown, when he was stood 5 yards offside looking right across the backline - not a hint of effort or even paying attention to the game happening around him.
  16. Anyone worried about the state of our club at the moment have very short memories indeed.
  17. I thought the chanting yesterday was pretty appalling really, but then given some of the utter goons who sit near me i'm not surprised.....and everyone's entitled to their own opinion. Yes, he's been paid a fortune. Yes, our form has been dire for a long time. But i think he'll have been pretty badly affected by what's happened and the vitriol thrown at him by some. His time was up a little while ago, and a shame it's come to this.
  18. No, I’d say he hasn’t got the legs for a whole game. Or ball control.
  19. You have to have zero brain cells to spend money on a ticket to watch the team you support, the travel, the day out, the beers.....only to jump up when your team score and get kicked out on 10 minutes. It's really not difficult to keep yourself in check and thus not ruin your afternoon. Mind you, last time i was in an away end was Millwall which focuses the mind to keep quiet at all times!
  20. Going to need a good few liveners in the system before kick off for this one.
  21. The fact is that at the moment we find both scoring and defending a bit tricky. Fully expecting a Hammers win (coupled with 90 minutes of nauseating blowing bubbles song sh*te), with queuing for a tepid beer starting on around 38 mins. Hard to see the afternoon panning out any differently right now, but where there's life there's hope.
  22. First time I’ve seen his name mentioned this ebening.
  23. Seems a bit harsh to wheel the bloke out into a presser only to be quizzed about his (seemingly) inevitable sacking.
  24. JWP was awful against Villa, but that's a rarity.....not sure he deserves a place at the momentgiven his form lately, although that argument is then swifly thrown out the window by Henderson being included. I feel massivley underwhelmed by this WC already.
  25. Is this some sort of doppelgänger 11?!
