  1. This is the great thing about a forum - if we were in a pub debating/joking about prices etc, we'd all laugh and talk normally, and i expect "grow up" wouldn't come into it. If you look at the first page of this post you'll see i thought there may be a reduction. It's just forum chat....
  2. I’m not surprised…..the “4 more games” koolaid has worked!
  3. So, that makes mine £11 cheaper without early renewal. Excuse me while I pick up the soap…
  4. Yes, and if rumours are of either replacing Rice at WHU (who'll leave for big bucks) or joining mega rich NU then we can absolutely pull their pants down. We need to stand firm this window and make sure we get an absolute premium for these players. If Dragan is more involved, then maybe he'll play proper hardball.
  5. Is he in the building yet?!
  6. I kind of get this, from a courtesy point of view…..but I recruit contract engineers and when the contract isn’t renewed due to poor performance (or cut short) they’re certainly not informed about a replacement. But I guess that’s the difference between working to a fixed term contract and being a permanent staff member. Ultimately it’s not his business. There’s no chance he wouldn’t have known what’s going on anyway with other candidates.
  7. Barring a numnber of long term injuries, he is never going to be a starter (bench warmer if he's really lucky) for England....even when his stats are top notch and he's scoring goals he's not high up on the list. One would imagine that any move shouldn't be based on an England career, but simply staying in the PL.
  8. Quite probably. Doesn’t change the fact that currently he shouldn’t be anywhere near a football pitch. Regardless of who your employer is, in any job, there’s no excuse to not at least pretend to try.
  9. Aribo has no place on any football pitch.
  10. Kids on for 45 minutes please. I mean, why not?
  11. You’ll definitely have much more fun in a stream.
  12. Yes, just tell him he’s going nowhere. Unless someone wants to pay £40-50m for him. We need to make sure that players with decent contract length left are sold on our terms for top money. It’s a business and some are valuable assets. Top money or on yer bike.
  13. One button would be overpaying.
  14. The problem is that ALL of the managers being spoken about who haven't managed in the PL are a pure punt. So we can't really say that this person is a much better option than person based on how they might do as and when we get back up. We really need to focus on getting out of the championship, and get someone in who can deliver that. We can worry about the PL again when we get there.
  15. You're looking at £70m minimum just for Lavia and JWP + parachute payments and other sales.....no excuse to really not have a damn good go at coming straight back up netx season.
  16. If he's leaving us, let the bidding war commence...
  17. I'm gutted about relegation, but i'm finding the thing that's bothering me most is (probably) not seeing Lavia and JWP play in a saints shirt again.
  18. Is that in Bedford Place?
  19. Well, in theory that's how it should work....the assumption is that he's contracted to us, and comes back for pre-season etc with the rest. If someone offers big bucks then ship him off. There's no divine right to a transfer just because you were on loan to a team that got promoted. What should we accept though? I expect £20m+ would work - but given he's torn up the championship we should be looking to hold on to him.
  20. We do have a chance of keeping Tella - we tell him he's staying with us. Unless of course we get an offer we can't refuse!
  21. When you say no way we keep Tella - i'm assuming you mean that if we get a crazy offer for him? We aren't a charity, and can't let him go just because the side he joined on loan got promoted.....even though he played a massive part in it. So long as we get appropriate funds for him, that's fine. Otherwise, he should be rejoining us and continuing where he left off.
  22. The best news so far for me is that Diallo and now apparently Moi don’t want to stay with the club. I’ll be raising a glass to that dynamic duo with my Sunday lunch.
  23. There’s only one chap near me who (like me)has his seat since day 1 at SMS. After our loss the other night he basically said he’d had enough. Very surprised given what we’ve seen together over the last 20 years. But that does seem a worrying trend. I get that it’s god awful at the moment, but the way I see it, it makes the good times all the better….are we going to see 20k attendances next season do we think??
  24. As with Jones, I feel for him a bit. Clearly out of his depth/totally inept and could well have ruined his managerial career before it’s even started. Didn’t set out to make us a losing side, and we were all but screwed before he took over. Expect he’ll go back to being a coach somewhere, and hope he can revive his career.
