With some decent revenue from player sales we can add some gritty, savvy midfield additions, a decent manager, and maybe keep hold of Tella and get Smallbone back…no reason at all we can’t put up a decent fight next season. SR need to keep this part of their investment afloat, so I can’t see them wanting to languish in the lower divisions long. I’m not convinced we’ll go straight back up, but think we’ll give it a good go. It’s all pretty raw right now for everyone so I get the doom and gloom predictions etc.

We don’t belong anywhere near this league and it shows. Time to attempt a rebuild.

I'm not saying this to get on any sort of high horse as this is my own personal opinion.....i'll be renewing regardless as surely that's what fans (who can afford to AND can get to the games easily enough) do? I may be in the minority in saying this, but being a saints fan has never been easy but part of being a fan of this club is enjoying the highs and the lows. I'd be amazed if we bin off Selles, and is it really going to make much difference ultimately? If we were a win from safety and had a good run (5/6) of very winnable games coming up then perhaps.

Watching Lavia is worth the trip.

Whatever happens today is going to cause annoyance all round. Play like sh1t and get stuffed - annoying. Play an absolute stonker of a game and win 4-0 - annoying it wasn’t done sooner.

Quieter trains, easier parking, SFC fans rather than PL fans, more games, different opposition, smaller bar queues, a new journey, something to actually play for……I’d rather be in the PL but if we’re not…oh well.

That’s the peaks and troughs of life as a saints fan…and we’ve had worse times in our not so distant past. Can’t see a price drop happening, expecting a freeze. No badges etc in the ST pack this year probably !

Agree completely. But we all know that if we stayed up but were still playing crap football they’d renew. By and large people don’t renew due to dropping into the championship, nothing to do with the quality of football.

I don’t blame anyone at all, it’s up to the individual to decide. What I don’t like is people jumping on the bandwagon and giving it the big “lifelong saints supporter” bull, and then when we get relegated saying it’s due to finances…..I’m sure they’d keep spending the ££ on tickets in the PL. I’d rather they just be honest and say “I’m not spending my weekends watching championship football”. Absolutely fair enough. They’ll find the money again when we go up, hence attendances going from 18-20k to 30k.

Who's that? Sorry, being a bit dim.....assuming you mean tall Paul. Thing is, we don't know if he's a goalscorer in this league.....two near misses with headers isn't something you'd want to hang your hat on even though he's not been provided with the right service. Doesn't look like he's going to create chances for himself, no real pace, not a poacher. So unless all we're going to do is fire in crosses for 90 mins (which i can't see), i can't see him making the sort of impact we need.

With a half decent goalscorer that would be possible. With no real goalscorers at all that won't be.....sadly. God, it's so fckuking annoying.

He's done pretty well compared to his predecessors, but this weekend was a "take the brakes off and go for it" fixture.....does he think we've got more games left than we actually have!? Just bizarre.
