  1. Andy Carroll on a pay as you play deal. Clearly the only deal you’d ever want to sign someone who can’t play more than 10 games a season. Good foil for Ings, bit of target man action….. Yes, I know it’s a ridiculous idea but we all know he’s someone you don’t want to play against you.
  2. He was definitely at the end of his career but I remember being shocked at how well he played and the plaudits that followed. Was too old for England obviously but put in a real quality shift. Again from what I remember.
  3. From what I remember Le Saux did really well for us and was even being talked about by some journalists as good enough for England again.
  4. Would be great if the beeb could bring Barry Davies out of retirement to commentate on the final.
  5. I’d sub him off purely because the way he runs always winds me up.
  6. I didn't see last night coming at all, and also happy to be proved utterly wrong on my predictions....thought Germany would turn up and hand us a spanking the other night too. Only downside, with Saints tinted spec's on, is that JWP isn't going to get a look in for some time now barring injuries. Southgate will have his new midfield favourites (rightly so i suppose) so i'd be surprised if JWP gets close to the starting XI any time soon.
  7. Right with you there, and even more so now that he's going to be giving f******Henderson some game time.
  8. Just knob off Southgate. Although I liked the way Lineker pronounced Trippier’s name in French first off.
  9. Roy Keane was spot on about Henderson, and why would you have him around the camp if he's crocked - for card tricks? Especially given the lack of midfielders in the squad. JWP should be in instead of him anyway.....i got the "let's take Rooney" when he'd done his foot because he was potentially a match winner and a real prospect. Henderson is neither, so why take an injured player in an area where there are other decent, fit options available? Crazy. And yes, i do have SFC tinted spec's but it seems the impartial football population wanted JWP taken too. And let's face it, he'd have wanted to go even if not likely to play at all so i'm sure he'll be pretty gutted.
  10. No, I’d be surprised by anyone who turned their back on their country in favour of another.
  11. Hate to say it, but i'll be hoping Armstrong and McAdams do well for Scotland against England. I'm feeling pretty uninspired by the whole tournament at the moment, maybe because the covid protocols make a boozy pub session watching England a bit of a chore.....usually i'd have the nights/afternoons planned out by now.
  12. has he gone yet?
  13. Probably out of hope that he has that 1 good game in 10 he’s got in him.
  14. Oh ffs Redmond
  15. the amount of times i sit watching us play, and say "oh ffs Redmond" has been noted within my house. Frustratingly, he could do SO much better but for whatever reason he spends much of the time giving the ball away, slowing up the play, making the wrong decision, committing unnecessary fouls and generally being pretty dog merde. When on song, he's a real asset. When he isn't, he's a massive liability. A shame he's more the latter.
  16. He was thanking the current senior management team, so not sure why he’d mention previous managers in that sentence. Omitting the person who picks the current team strikes me as odd.
  17. No mention of Ralph in his cheerio article I notice.....
  18. Just f*** off Redmond. You’re getting right on my t*ts.
  19. Has he gone yet?
  20. Plus RB actually wants to be here...that wouldn’t make any sense at all.
  21. Tell Mason to look at monitor at least. The most ridiculous decision you’ll see, which looks worse when you see it from all angles. How the hell can they justify that decision?
  22. I do like Theo, but I’m surprised he hasn’t yet mastered the weight of a pass. It’s like he gets his 3 iron out while lining up a putt.
  23. I’m all for people with ambition and wanting to better yourself etc...I just can’t help feeling a bit disappointed with the situation. He was going nowhere really (or seen as a big risk) until we gave him the chance. He comes in, we look after him and keep his body in good nick, then he starts scoring for a season and now he wants to leave. I am fully aware that they have no need to show loyalty and it’s a job etc...but it still feels like a kick in the nads having got his career back on track.
  24. What’s your beef with this guy?!
  25. Well I thought so, but didn’t know if there was small print that said that if we COULD attend (even in an unsuccessful ballot) we’d not be entitled to it. But yes, on reflection that’s pretty implausible!
