I've not heard any racist abuse at football since we were at the Dell - and let's face it, in most grounds these days the fellow supporters around anyone giving that stuff out would turn on them very quickly. If anyone makes a noise during a minute's silence the group around that person jump on it straight away...unless it's a cough etc. I find it hard to believe that in the Premier League these days (and this is going by what i hear) these guys get subjected to a huge amount of racist abuse pitchside. I may be wrong, but i haven't heard it for years. I think that homophobia in the game is a much bigger issue, given that players won't come out as being gay. As for Rose, take a stand if you feel like that and quit.

Austin shouldn’t be anywhere the starting 11, and only used in the last 10 if absolutely necessary. What’s happened to Ings then? Need to try and stay in the game for as long as possible. I’m fearing us being 0-2 down after 20 minutes and that basically being that.

In this day and age, and in an industry worth what it is, how does this sort of thing happen? How is it that the appropriate checks aren’t made? Baffling.

I have been wondering why he’s not been involved at all given the impact he had last season....off to Reading and not fancied there either. He does offer pace and unpredictability so it’s great to finally see him being a chance, especially when Moi has done naff all. About bloody time I say. Austin was frankly a waste of a shirt for this game, just not right for what we needed at all.

And contrary to the chant, he does give the ball away - sometimes a lot. When he's good, he's good. When he's bad, he's a liability.

He did OK, but seems to lack any real pace/turn of speed which he needs to be effective in that role - why anyone thinks he'll be off to a bigger club in a year is beyond me. My opinion of course.

Moi Eluselessy wouldn't get in a dire Reading team either (or any team for that matter) so why not give them problems with some direct pacy trickery that Sims could offer. RH clearly doesn't fancy him though having picked most others for the matchday squad but not him.

Couldn’t agree more. I don’t usually post on Twitter, or rant for that matter, but I did this week following all the #RIPSala and “football community coming together” bolox. After the announcement of silences for European games, I suggested it would be fair if there was a minute silence before every European flight leaves the ground for 2 weeks. For the sake of parity of course. Gets right on my baps.

Surprised that he looks like he might have some pace, but doesn’t really at all. Maybe he’s not got the confidence yet to pin his ears back. He’s done well for a young lad coming into to PL football, but he’s not been a stand out performer. IMO anyway.

I’m not sure anyone’s debating whether he works hard physically in terms of running around. You can work hard and run your socks off but still either be a poor decision maker or selfish with the ball. Can’t see him being a rabbit for Ralph’s hutch.

Trouble is, to be a playmaker you need to be able to pass the ball to a team mate.
