The Guardian says: Injuries Southampton: The foot injury that forced Cédric Soares off in the 26th minute is not thought to be serious but he may undergo a scan early this week to make sure.

Good game, and the better team.

Whipping up an atmosphere over the tannoy

It actually really annoys me when they do that. And not just because it's the other team. It's a bit like a DJ in a club telling you how to dance. -

Time to promote Yan Valery to the first team as a translator/player? -
He has shown more than Cedric so far (but not in this game). Not saying he's the better player, but Cedric needs to step it up in general to win my confidence. We'll win 3-0.

"The Mill can inform you that Southampton’s José Fonte has left the door open to switch Europa League clubs. Manchester United were interested in signing him in the summer and that move could be now back on after the Portugal defender said of a new contract at St Mary’s: “There’s nothing on the table, so I’m waiting. I’ll see what happens. I’m just focusing on performing and we’ll see what happens. We haven’t agreed anything, it’s just talks.”" https://www.theguardian.com/football/2016/sep/28/football-transfer-rumours-manchester-united-jose-fonte No news here, but keeping the unrest alive.

I'm Dutch, I get to write poor English

Except you don't have to point out anything, do you? Everyone (including you) understands perfectly well what he meant. We're on a football forum, not in a spelling contest, nor submitting for a scientific paper. Nobody wins a price here for putting their punctuation marks in the right place, and especially not for acting like a pedantic poster with a misplaced spelling superiority complex. Apologies if there's a history to this post or a joke that I'm missing, but otherwise: why? Really looking forward to tonight's game!

Almost unwatchable first half, but West Ham never came close to scaring us. VVD, Bertrand, Austin, Redmond and Tadic very good, the rest also not bad. Another clean sheet, three goals, and up to 9th in the table. A good afternoon!
-
Tadic and VVD men of the match for me.
-
Deserved for Tadic!
-
Have to be careful now. Next one will be a penalty, with the referee vulnerable to the crowd.
-
Have we? I've been to many football games in my life but I don't think I've ever heard anything like that.
-
Guys on NBC saying that West Ham was playing recordings of crowd noises to get the actual crowd going. Bizarre if true.
-
Nice one!!

Martina for Cedric, Long for Redmond

Premier League 2: Saints v Spurs 19:00 KO

Decent goal, although a better keeper may have stopped that. -
Clasie is one of the quiet forces in this team. He isn't one to gain the spotlight during a game, and people mainly seem to notice those few wasted passes, but he reads the play well and works tirelessly until he's completely worn out. If he manages to further improve his longer distance passing and physical strenght (as far as possible) he'll be unmissable soon enough.
-
Four wins away from the cup!
-
Fonte hasn't been quite his confident self yet this season. I really hope he'll find his way back soon. There's not that much wrong with what he does, he just seems less present.
-
Well done McCarthy for staying awake.
