I'm disappointed with this thread now , I never got the clues before but always checked it out for interest but now it's too much abuse.

I see now why the VAR decisions were made (thanks for the laws update!) But it spoiled my enjoyment of the match and I wasn't even taking sides . Vest seemed ok in this match , no major clangers 😄

VAR I thought would be better in the Euros than our Prem but last night the match was ruined for me . It turned the game into a lottery . The handball watched at normal speed was pretty unavoidable I thought the the mm offside just silly what advantage is that ? Perhaps they could add to the rules of offside that if it couldn't be detected by a human in normal speed then the attacker gets the benefit of the doubt . At least we would have more goals to celebrate .

Lots of managers/players don't seem to know the rules fully 😄 In this case I had trouble following her explaination as she didn't have a clear voice , could be the accent so relied on the slo mo , which wasn't always clear . ITV will have to up their game .

I was quite hopeful when this type of training was anounced at Saints plus Clive Woodward and disappointed when 'arry just dismised it . Watching Real etc players who can receive the ball and pass it on when under pressure plus have that skill to disposess the oppositon player by taking the ball and taking control of it is impressive , I wonder if they use a similar training program.

Our saintsweb ref says it is now allowed apparently . (Stuttering penalty run ups that is) Pity the game has been turned on it’s head by VAR , another late offside decision ffs German attackers now doing Che impressions 😄

When this season and previously when Forster was out , Mccarthy stepped in and did a good job . However when he got a long run he seemed a bit crap especially when he stayed on the pitch injured and we lost . He was frozen out after that.

Remember Roy's England bored their way to the USA world cup then Roy changed to full on attack mode , that went well😄

Also it stands out in this tournament how players are allowed to use any means to stop the opposition player , crashing into the back of them , holding and grabbing them , is the Prem this bad or is it because I'm watching so many games in a short period ???

I wouldn't scapegoat Kane , he plays in a certain style which normally works but this slow build up tippy tappy means when they do go forward all the players except Pickford are , along with all the opponents , all up that end . There is little space and leads to more tippy tappy until they lose the ball. Saha hardly got a chance to run at the defence , when anyone got near the edge of the penalty box it was full of defenders . The Ex Arsenal commentator was repeatedly wanting quick attacking to break the defensive line , we were !

I thought the penalty taker wasn’t allowed to stop/start in his run up ?

It didn't look a nailed on penalty as Stu put his left leg out , not on the ground at that point , to block the defender . It's easy to see why the ref thought it was just a coming together . So many players are looking for a penalty these days especially when the team are in a desparate position .
