I meant the computer generated images as shown with Hawkeye in tennis and the WC has been showing computer images of offside decisions . The proposition that it must be true because the computer says so is increasing shown to be wrong , take cash machines as one of the examples and more recently algorithms used for all sorts eg face recognition software etc. Hawkeye uses 6 cameras to track the ball and produce a 3D image , it also gives an elongated image of the ball hitting the court to allow for spin etc .Not sure what var uses as only seen the goalmouth tech explained not the goalline !

I have , If you accept that the computer generated image is 100% accurate then it’s a correct decision but the process at the time was poor . If , like in tennis , they showed the graphic with the ball ‘overlapping’ the line then it would be more readily accepted . In tennis it has become accepted and uncontested. Live it looked out but with a timely graphic lt would improve the var process greatly . 🙂

Not so much a stitch up but if 99.9 % of the ball was out then it’s out in this context allowing for accuracy of white lines imo . I would have thought it would be given out in most matches. This is the madness of var really , not settling argument just moving the point of contention .
