3 points or FA Cup progress ? 3 points for me ! The FA Cup has been devalued by the big teams , reserve sides and for some reason “it’s a piece of silverware” to put in the cabinet attitude rather than a respected competition.

I thought he was prevented from using money by Xi who decided that Chinese business couldn’t export money to buy football clubs etc after all . GAO then had to borrow money outside of China to finance the deal .

I think in the normal course of events the owner would be kicking arses and the manager/players might respond but what are the sanctions? He could sack Ralph but not the players and who would be manager now ? We are in the prem now but only a second rate manger would be take charge .

My point is who would want to manage Saints at the moment? No money so you can’t bring in your own support team as was the norm . No money to buy players that are better than the ones here already . You might get an old dinosaur manager on a one year contract or a total unknown from lower euro leagues but who do you think would come here , seriously ?

It’s no good changing the manager when what’s needed are some better players . Big Sam is saying they can’t really improve without a few better players. The chances of getting any better players with no money and with the club still for sale are slim indeed .

Forster just can’t get down to those , as we know but why wasn’t Vest marking Dunk ? All the sideways and backward passing was mainly due to Brighton getting back and defending in depth , cutting out options. We did look ineffective in the second half and a lot of head shaking etc at every mistake teammates made .

A classic , on live terrestrial TV , playing a team that can’t win , we were bound to play them back into form from our past history ! Brighton aren’t that bad , they set up after half time and defended well , saw redmond / Bertie were the main plan of attack and doubled up on it , to cap it all Lala finally played a good 90 mins for them !

Players look good playing in a system that suits them , when they step up and suddenly asked to be lone striker or play left side rather than right side etc they look crap . Having said that selling teams hear Chelski and say GK that will be £70M please !

He’s come along way since his debut, described at the time as lightweight, no obvious position to play in etc on here ! MLT was , according to an “evening with” I attended , easy going , no fan of training or Hoddle , happy to be still paid if dropped so I didn’t get the impression he was over ambitious. After all Steve Williams didn’t do so well after his move to Arsenal !

VAR has slowed the game , spoiled celebrating and caused more controversy than the on field refs so far . Failed to solve penalty decisions and turned offsides into a ridiculous lottery based on parts of the body. Goal line tech works , no dispute .

Injury comebacks AND Covid recovery , I know people on here disregard Covid effects but other teams have shown that it is a major factor .

He still had a role when retained BUT he regressed to a caricature after he signed . Offside , total failure of first touch , never played anyone in etc !

Typical maybe of a player who wants to do well but nothing comes off so vents his frustration on his team mates . Saints need some quality players to drag the youngsters up a level .

I see the Ref has admitted that he shouldn't have allowed the first 2 Welsh tries ! A bit late now , he is being retained on the Ref's list anyway.
