Saints 4 actual goals vs 0 Blackburn - Match Thread
Harry_SFC replied to Convict Colony's topic in The Saints
Agreed. He's an idiot for trying it but let's not be too harsh on him, at the end of the day it didn't affect anything so learn the lesson and move on. -
Had some good and some bad moments at Coventry but was very decent today. You can see why Martin likes him, he is pretty good at keeping the ball.
-
This guy is just way too good for this level. 8/10 at least every week. I fully expect him to go in the summer as he is definitely a Premier League top half quality player. We just can't afford to let him go in January.

Alcaraz was sensational when he came on (barring the penalty miss obviously) -
He is a more than decent keeper when the ball isn't low down to his left...
-
Ryan Dilks from the second tier podcast was spot on. He said "I haven't seen a Southampton game this season and come away thinking wow, that was really good". Cardiff is the only one I can think of tbh.
-
5/10 for me. Not good enough with what we have.
-
As we are now looking to consolidate our position in the play offs it's a half decent point. Given up on autos now.
-
A.Armstrkng has been terrible in front of goal tonight.
-
Also Adams has been very good. Not finding him enough though.
-
Any side with a little bit about them would be beating this Coventry side easily tonight. Piss poor again.
-
Yeah he looked tired in that second half on Saturday. Wouldn't be surprised to see Smallbone and Downes back in.
-
Martin said someone who has been great recently will miss out tonight and said it'll be a difficult conversation. I wonder if he is referring to THB? Lost that key header on Saturday. Surely he can't drop Bednarek after the MOTM performance.
-
I can see it now. Ross Stewart makes his first start of the season in the play off final against his old team Sunderland and nets a last minute winner to send us up.. then does his ACL whilst celebrating and misses the whole of next season in the Premier League.
-
No but why are you comparing him with Niemi, one of our best keepers? I don't think anyone should expect him to be that good, especially at Bazunu's age.
-
Let's hope not. Given the dropped points on Saturday, a draw here would be a poor result.. no doubt about it.
-
A few people here are quick to slag off Bazunu when he makes an error (fair enough) but then when he makes a great save it's just "routine". It wasn't world class but if you don't think that was a brilliant save then you're agenda is getting the better of you.

Watched their game with Birmingham on Friday night. Didn't think they were that good and Individual skill from O'Hare won it for them. He's certainly the one to watch on Wednesday.
-
He definitely is. Seems to pull off some worldy saves to his right, but lets in ones he shouldn't to his left.
-
This is it for me. What's the point in risking it near to your own goal but no near the opponents when technically it would be safer to do so? Obviously I don't want us to just give the ball away easily in the final third by trying Hollywood passes all the time but it would be nice if we mixed it up, played on the counter a little away from home when 1-0 up and we have the players on the pitch to do so.
-
When does that ever happen? 1-0 gives you no room for errors. As we are finding out this season.
-
Silly to write it off but there is no evidence to suggest Leicester or Ipswich are going to bottle it. Ipswich have only lost 3 games this calendar year and Leicester are clearly too good for this league.
-
It's already been mentioned but we just don't score enough goals to be worthy of going straight back up. We had plenty of chances on the counter attack to go 2-0 up there in the last 15 minutes but we decided to stop and go backwards.
-
Imagine if we put teams to bed like all our promotion rivals do. Play offs are nailed on I'm afraid.
