for me playing a 4 we dont play it along the back so much, this is the area where we make crucial mistakes due to the lack of ability
-
Probably too slow to get in each others way and as you were the ref Im sure it was unlikely 😀 Do you not recall that mazy goal we scored against WBA where the 2 players colided, or Pompeys keeper this season. I do agree THB has this in his locker as a few times hes done it, away at Villa the glaring one
-
I didnt notice that but he may well have said something when play started again. Im sure Scienza knew the situation nd to be fair the ref didnt give him much and the time he did go off on one he was wronged.
-
Interesting that the majority of the teams just above us were deemed to be useless by the football intelligensia on here when we got positive results against them.
-
Oh come on if if if, if Scienzas shot had not gone in other opportunities would have come about. You are going to die on the hill of formation it seems. The team were better and more solid, their 2 major chances were created by our mistakes, Peretz bad kick to Jelert and THB and Jelert both going to the same ball allowing Bamford through.

Amzing a player who has played in 2 9-0 thrashings, a been part of a team who let in mountains of goals, is this a reflection of us or Portugal league after all Gycores looked a worldy there. I suggest most of their top players are in other leagues
-
yes I noted that. Saying about fresh players. Why change a winning team ffs
-
Oh come on you arent usually this down on the team. The team were lacking confidence and nervous, give them a break as this hopefully is a start to an improved run. Ross is a very important part of that. A clean sheet was a great positive and sunday will show if there are green shoots, just a shame we have this game now and not in a few weeks
-
The way FD played yesterday he doesnt deserve to be dropped, add to that he has the cahoolies to face up to the intimidation. When Shea came on he looked timid and not up to speed. Played a more forward role. He needs a few cameos to get up to speed. I worry our young players may wilt, but people like Wellington and Jelert seem to have the will to stay calm and not be phased. Just hope Ross cn give 70 minutes, when he went down the crowd were very silent and cheered when he got up and strted running
-
I dont agree, the formation made the players look more comfortable, Stphens and THB each took responsibility to challenge fro the ball. We didnt have the endless passing the ball along the back 3, but were playing the ball forward in a positive fashion. Flynn played the best he has for a long time and again he didnt kep feeding it back as he had a few more options forward. Ross made a massive difference and had been availible more this season we would be so much better placed. He challenged and won headers, giving their defence more to worry about, hence the last 30 minutes with AA up front they took control as we had no outlet. The keeper did what hes supposed to do by saving to get us points (his kicking is poor but surely even our coaches can help him there) He was constantly shouting and organising something we badly needed. Fir the first time in a long time I saw JS actually being a captain, berating andencouraging players when they had done well. Sunday is slightly less daunting but we will see in the first 10 minutes if the players can hold up to the intense pressure FP will bring. Sadly at ours we were flat and made their day very easy
-
To be fair to Tonda, he hasnt had the big forward, the same goes for Still, when RS was availible and playing we looked very good. what is so annoying is the recruitment team dont seem to be targeting a big strong forward who can hold the ball and link the play.

B'mouth will have trouble as they are up against financial rules, but I see they are spending 90m on doubling their capacity in the next 2 years. If Andoni leaves that will hurt them but they still get some good players. Looks like Jimenez is the next one. Ive said many times we should get their scouting team and pay them big bucks
-
I suppose wecould try and get one on loan, if I recall correctly the club said DD would not go unless we had somebody to replace him, he has gone on loan but hasnotbeen replaced. We are too close to the relegation zone to risk not being prepared to have enough forwards to keep us up. We have 2 short forwards and a 3rd who is likely not able to play many games. Perhaps I worry too much but I recall my father lamenting how we were top og the league and Charlie Wayman got injured with about 7-8 games to go. We didnt win another game and failed to get promotion
-
It is incredible if we dont bring a big forward in, I know Ross is decent if hes fit but it is something we cannot rely on. We all know the window will shut and he will get an injury! I so hope he wont but the odds are against him. I also thought they might do something to raise thespirits in the fanbase and liven up the dressing room.

So find a buyer who will pay 200m for a mid to lower Championship team, then Im sure we all would be behind you to try to get them out, but I suggest that the majority of fans understand that all the protests do is ruin any atmposphere there is and make our position worse during the game. Add to that how it also ruins the enjoyment of going to a game. Doncaster home when the fans were fighting with each other was as low as ay time I have felt watching Saints

Love watching Big Match revisited,so interesting seeing how the game has changed. 7-30 kick offs, 10minute half time, linesmen coming in and standing on the goal line, pass abcks for keepers to pick up, wonderful the fans behind the goal etc etc.
-
This could go 2 ways, he could want to play hard to get a new contract or as you say be miffed. Personally I understand why hes cheesed off, the club and fans have hardly embraced him.Personally im all for solid proper championship playerswith a sprinkling of mercurial around the team.
-
The other thing is that if we stay down a few seasons we can see what you can build with little money after seeing the likes of Hull etc
-
I listen to 606 with Sutton and Savage phone in, it seems majority of clubs fans feel the same about their team/players as we do. Seems to me unless the player lives and breathes football they are hard to motivate, afterall you are trying to get multi millionaires to go out and get kicked/hurt and work hard, patently they dont need to after they have had a contact for a few years that makes them wealthy to really not care,
-
I thought his save was superb early on keeping it at 0-0, the back he couldnt do much about and McBurnie found a free Hull player. For the 2nd Flynn and Wood had hold of the scorer but Flynn let him go and Wood was weak. As my wife commented Wood was not at it at all the whole game and Quasie was unlucky t be subbed. Overall the keeper did ok and hopefully he will make a difference more often than not, not tht Im fully convinced
-
Also Jander was in the way. Finn will always see a chance to score. Sadly fans dont see what he adds and does create, although I must say he doesnt look happy
-
Comparing McKenna to the RM situation is way off the mark. McKenna has so much in the bank with the Ipswich fans, in my opinion RM was never really being all the fans favourite by the way he plays.
-
Im not proud to say but for the first time I booed TE and joined in with the 'you dont know what your'e doing' chant. To bring on a tall forward and take off the supply of crosses was ridiculous, ok Robinson did ok but Fellows was the only player who was driving at their defence, would have rathered taken off AA.
-
I saw a video online of fans in the Northam berating Leo after the game as he went to give his shirt to a fan, how thick some of our fans are. It is so depressing,

We sold Tall Paul for £8M? to a club who i think messed us around in the past. I strongly feel he would be on 10 plus goals now why?
