Moshino did the right thing, he was clever in neutering our fans by time wasting from the off. Also noticable was that when we played WBA in the play offs from the off the fans booed constantly for th first 20 minsutes when he opposition had the ball, we did it for the first few minutes and stopped as we all got nervous as the team were not at it.

What nonsense, I dont give a toss what away fans think, they are not going to say complimentary things unless they win. There is a reason why SMS was voted the favourite ground for away fans, it wasnt because a load of knuckles were shouting abuse all game, but they went away with 3 points and created a lot of noise suppressing the home fans.
-
WS intimated something similar in his interview after the game, where he said something on the lines of getting the old ways out of the players system.
-
well if you stood opposite the Northam when the end was split you could hear the away fans more than the home fans, especially if you were on that side of the ground.
-
They wanted to frustrate and slow the game down. They hoped tonick a win on the back of it. No I doubt I woud have had the same opinion, Id have been shouting at our keeper being so stupid in the first place.
-
Spend the whole game looking at the away fans and flicking V's by all means , thats your choice but we seem to hae the only fan base in the world who want our singing end split in half to give the away fans a great day out, and an end where their team can kick to and roar them on. Ask the fans of any club in the country and say the club were to split their end eg The Kop, Stretford, Pompeys home end, theyd laugh you out of the room. It is ridiculous, all so you @can have banter' , most of the time the away fans banter is better than ours and so gians SFA. As you can tell Im fully behind having a home end and once we happen to get a run of games where we are doing well, then the wallwill show it is was the correct decision. Sunday the players gave us nothing to feed off.

It wasnt in our interests to slow the play down, and so no it wasnt

the sooner he gets banned the better IMO. I know some like him but he is out for publicity. I like him less than Westwood FFS

They know the art of falling over and screaming, the one where Flynn was booked . jumpped in the air and screamed. Time and again they under the slightest of touches went down, and the ref fell for it. All part of the plan to disrupt any flow of the game and of course their 2nd keeper went down and got the trainer on after wehad a bit of momentum
-
He left the player who was laid out, on the pitch until half time then said he had badly damaged neck. It is a badly worded interview and can only ramp things up next time, perhaps thats what he wants. Not blaming for his keeper going totally AWOL who would have smashed the defender anyway.

I wonder if the meaning of the game was overstated to the players as they were so nervous. Pompey timewasted from the first minute. Their manager did a masterclass in suppressing our home advantage. I am fully behind Still but dont understand why a team made up to put crosses in the box has only a small man up front. Flynn is totally dereft of confidence. Why we did nt take a few pot shots was weird although we just couldnt get the ball up the pitch to get the chance to. Overall at least we didnt lose and the game came too soon, a couple of weeks time and I feel we would be better placed toplay this one. I hope we can suppress the atmosphere at FP as they did.

Do they let Millwall v WHU mix, or Celtic Rangers, Brum V Newcastle
-
there was a Police escort to the ground with the fans completely segregated. Ohh the Brittania road one was nothing much was it? All those who went inside for a stretch may have a different opinion. I was at Fratton Park in 84 and there was little police presence when we were waiting for our coach near the station, fans were mixed and there was lots of scraps. Im sure if you want to test how peaceful it would be, why not hang around near the Pompey coaches on Sunday, no doubt they give you flowers

Ipswich looked pretty good. Perhaps we were lucky to play them when we did. Is Ings injured as he didnt play? No doubt he will be back against us
-
The thing is with that game, we were so fortunate Chelsea should have scored 6

I dont know how old you are but football nearly died in the late 70's early 80's due to crowd violence in and around the stadia. Now famillies can go with young kids and be 99% sure they will be safe, Im myself am going with my daughter and grand daughter, if there was liberal rules I doubt I would take them (even though I couldnt stop them as they are hardenedcommitted fans ) If you really believe that you can trust fans with such rivalry to mix and not have large disturbances, Iam amazed. Yes all the Pompey fans I know are sound as aa pound and you can have good banter, but when the game comes its bitter.
-
I have just been listening to Total Saints Podcast, and listening to our own Steve grant (forgive if I've got this wrong) that he feels that the fans shouldnt be segregated as in a bubble. IMo that would be insane, after the Stoke game quite a few Stoke fans were itching for trouble as they mixed with our fans walkingaway from the ground, imagine if that was Pompey,it would be bedlam as both sets of fans would be up for it. Stokebrought half s many os Pompeys 2700. Crikey the last home game against them was bad enough with the Car showroom and our fans trying to get at them. To methe tougher the segregation is the better, I dont want to see fans of either side being bloodied.
-
Perhaps but we have created chances. Is a 4 more solid, we just dont seem to work out how to get clean sheets. I doubt any of us expect Pompey not to score. Its a sad state. Personally I think Wood should play as he has the physical presence to combat their C/F
-
Should we change when the players are used to a 5 at present. A massive game to change formation, a formation that has created a shed load of chances
-
It is a massive day for Baz, if he makes a mistake he will never shake off the 'agent' tag and the fans wont forgive him. This adds to the massive pressure he will be under. I wonder if it would be prudent to play AM

The Starmer Years - Can The New Broom Sweep Clean?
OldNick replied to sadoldgit's topic in The Lounge
Mandleson should be stripped of all his honours. 'Yum Yum' ffs. It makes the skin crawl, always seemed to me a creep of the highest order. -
I was so naive,I never thought that there would be so many there that night. I went along thinking it would like any other testimonial where only the hardcore would turn up, but not realising what the FA cup win had done to the excitement and of course it was Mick Channons. I think Im right that Bobby Stokes was awarded a car on the pitch that day, he couldnt drive lol

That is a surprise, but I will accept you are correct. Those games in the late 60's and early 70's when the London clubs came to town!!
