He does look very lightweight and a schoolboy

I assume while the crowd was leaving the game

It is amusing the fans baying for managers who have been sacked multiple times elsewhere for failing. Any manager we go for is a massive risk. Im just gratefult that there was no social media, with people with the loudest voices but perhaps not the most intelligent at our board when Lawrie was our manager. They were very strong against tremendous provocation to keep him, the rest is history
-
Who do you feel will do a good job.In the summer when we were looking at appointments, were the managers in the frame now on the tip of your tongue? The gene pool is pretty poor and so it is hard to see who will inspire
-
Of all the candidates, who is there that is going to galvanise the squad and also inspire the fans? Its a conumdrum. If a new man comes in and loses 2 of the first 3 we will be back to 'sack the bord' etc etc. The club played the'we're going to go back up ' card too much and so expectations have been too high. The only time we looked good was when Ross was linking play and we did look decent, once he got injured we have played with the handbrake on and it has focussed the folly of not getting a proper centre forward
-
Oh come on, he and the club knew that the rumours and article was doing the rounds. Surely he/club could have nipped it in the bud immediately.
-
Its hard to say who are the ones who really turned the camp against him, Jack says he didnt (although why did he wait until he was gone to say so). Some have really high opinions of their ability/standard and may feel they are above criticism. Armstrongs goal celebration irks me for some reason
-
Will Still must be looking from afar and be thinking how the players (Armstrong in particular) cost him his job. Had they only scored a couple more goals with some golden opportunities, he would still be in his job. Simon Peach also said this morning he thought that we shouldnt have sacked him, and probably would have won the last 2 games.
-
the word expected is the getout, wasnt he saying O'Neill was expected
-
If this is response to Crooks tweet you may be premature, but if its a general feeling then I respect that. I dislike them but you have to be careful what you wish for Chansiri may want another club, or the Venkys
-
Is this fact? I dont see why they would make it permanent when they canleave him as it is and see how it pans out. If it goes wrong we lose him from guiding the under 21's and also have to pay him off. Makes you feel that GON really was to be their choice, and shows how little they really know about the culture of our fanbase to even have him in the running, let alone how poor a manager he is
-
But the club do not need to appoint him, they can leave him as he is in a suck it and see situation. The appointment is massive and listening to Simon Peach earlier today on Solent sport it seems the players didnt like WS blunt observations and perhaps we have a bit of a toxic squad (no real surprise as Juric got a similar response) As I have stated before there is a poor gene pool to choose from so whoever we go for it is hardly going to have a united club behind the decision
-
We dont need to appoint Eckhart, we just leave him as he is until he either messes up or becomes the best thing since sliced bread. This gives the club a bit of time. I get that we cnt lose more games in the next 3 but whoever we appoint may not fire us up straight away.
-
Always a balanced poster, always sad to lose a Saint. RIP
-
Im not keen to leave it to him, but as yet I have not seen many decent options.
-
Lets panic and get anybody
-
I dont know why people are getting upset with my post, rushing out to get someone who may not be right just to get someone is a madness the club has done before. I would like to get a new man in but as I put, the gene pool is pretty poor. Who really inspires in the list we see? If it was true (I doubt) that they were going for O'Neill it doesnt give me any confidence they will get anybody decent. I also have litle faith in Eckhart as he took the gamble of Baz ( that nearly cost us dearly) and throwing kids on at important times in a game. So we in a rock or hardplace situation. Leaving Eckhart for 2 more games is hardly a massive risk and if he happened to get 2 more favourable results whats the problem, no new manager is likely to do much better unless it is somebody really inspiring. As for the financial situation, we will be in the mire whoever as we are not going to make the top 2 unless we have a miracle and I dont trust us to get through the playoffs unless we do make a couple of good transfers.
-
May as well leave Eckhart as interim for a few more games, hes hardly going to be poached if he does well, and if it deteriorates then push on elsewhere. The gene pool is not that great of who is around and so while the squad seem to be happy and we carry on doing ok, I dont see why not keep it as it is. Of ocurse if there is somebody who really fits the bill then do it now.
-
I thought Manning did ok, his cut back for the first goal was superb. He also got stuck in a couple of tackles
-
I glanced past a snippet online saying that Rodgers would be interested, if so that would be immense

Either the Celebs were thick (eg Garraway, Beaumont) or the show was so editied that the celebs didnt focus in on the glaring errors. It was easy viewing but the tasks are annoying , so i videoed to skip through. The celebs thinking there were exposives on the train!!! lol. Couldnt believe that Nick changed his mind at the last second! Brilliant charity that Alan Carr got the money for so alls good

The Starmer Years - Can The New Broom Sweep Clean?
OldNick replied to sadoldgit's topic in The Lounge
I doubt that its 50% less. Although very difficult to guage as not many like for like jobs. Im not against the rank and file but the bloated management structure. -
IMO he plays turgid football, and also the club cannot afford to alienate the fanbase anymore. You may accept him being an ex Skate but the majoity would not.
-
Im against this. Firstly he plays turgid football, also SR cannot risk annoying the fanbase further by having a exSkate as manager. The fans will be anti from the off and the first time it goes wrong they will be on the owners/managers back. You only have to look at Cooper at Leicester after being at Forest. If he was a topmanager then I expect fans would swallow it but not an average talent when there are many others as good if not better out there. Imagine the constant agent O'neill stuff
