  1. It is not that easy. Sunderland had lots of players on lucrative contracts and they sat and took the money as nobody wanted them. We could go down and never be seen for decades. Any youngster coming through would be snapped up and so we would be the same but at a lower level.
  2. Are you saying he wasn’t at fault for the first? He either should have stayed back or cleared out all and sundry. He gave Abraham the chance to lift it. For the 2nd he should have come out and closed down a bit more.
  3. If you owned the club and saw the people running it wasting millions on poor buys would you go out on a limb to give them more? I read somewhere that Goa had given the impression that when he sees money well spent he might open the purse strings more. Our much heralded youth system has provided little, are we still Les’s poor guidance and appointments? We certainly don’t seem to have very good judges of players young or old. Am I right to question whether Jaidi is the type of person to coach players when he was hardly a silky player
  4. What has Ralph had to say?
  5. I’ve only seen him in glimpses but he looked to have something about him. Do you want to rely on PEH and co?.
  6. They are with half and half scarf section so day trippers
  7. i was just thinking that!!!!!
  8. That’s ok if we are at the top, but there is no guarantees. Wallowing in the lower part of the Championship would be worse
  9. Don’t be silly Dave
  10. Chelsea closed down PEH and Rom when on the ball which made them panic and give away possession, and broke from there. I’m for the youth of Slattery to perhaps pep things up. Crap football weekend. Liverpool and Pompey last minute winners CIty losing, all around us winning and us !!!!
  11. what can the support be to blame.
  12. That midfield is dire. All the worshipping of Hoj is a nonsense and JWP lack of anything is appalling. We need to do something special to change things. Try Slattery and Danso perhaps their energy of youth may Ings up. Obefemi is poor and I can’t see why he was brought on. Surely it should have been Boufal and so we could stretch on both wings. i an Nathan’s biggest fan but he wasn’t right today.
  13. I must say that I’m losing it as Obefemi on ?
  14. Shame is Chelsea are not that good
  15. Our midfield is so dire. Plodding at best. Do we have anyone else? JWP and Hoj need dropping.
  16. Vikings were not native to Britain and when they came and settled they by accounts were pretty ruthless raping and murdering. Anyway back to the Maoris, they were massacred and that was a shame, but to apologise 250 years later about something done in a different attitude in society. Reading about their keenness for cannibalism of Europeans and missionaries, perhaps it was seen as the correct thing to do at the time or if it was part of their culture its alright? ps I did know your were from the UK
  17. I smacked my kids as children, and my parents did so to me. We learnt to respect what is right or wrong , and whilst fearful of getting the stick we certainly thought about our actions. Personally it seemed to work as my brothers and myself didnt cross the line and my daughters have grown up to be people Im proud of. I dont think they will smack their children as they are the new generation of thought and so it is good to see how the grand children develop as they grow older. I still recall vividly being the first child caned at Shirley Middle School by Mr Barratt the headmaster to this day. Was he right, probably not, I couldn't show the bruises on my hand to my father as he would have backed the school not me and so Id have had a punishment at home (not a smack) but he may have stopped me going to the Dell
  18. exactly. When is Norway saint going to apologise for what the Vikings did, in fact im so upset I think he should cough up some compensation
  19. https://www.msn.com/en-gb/news/world/british-envoy-to-new-zealand-weeps-as-she-voices-regret-for-captain-cooks-crew-killing-native-maoris-when-they-landed-250-years-ago/ar-AAIcZpT?ocid=spartanntp Why would our own envoy cry about an event 250 years ago? Personally I cant feel guilt about the event that happened. Yet another of the of Britains of our past who I grew up being taught at school about is now being piloried. Nodoubt there will be lawyers looking to get compensation. Perhaps the ancestors of the Boyd should go and look for apologies?
  20. I just watched the one that hit the post. For a moment I thought I had Frazer Forster in goal that night lol. Still brings back good memories with some smashing lads
  21. Just going through some old posts looking for something and came across this thread. I wonder where all these people are now, as I rarely see them post
  22. well they are not going to do anything to help us as they dont want other nations to leave as well. I dont blame them wanting to do the best deal for their club, as I would do the same. They are just fortunate they are negotiating with a splintered nation. Had our political elite stuck together and done the right thing for our nation our deal would have been better for all.
  23. I don’t know why somebody hasn’t done a football version ‘of the saints are coming’ (Skids)
  24. I don’t get that as surely the border will be in place if we don’t do a deal, and so surely they should be campaigning to get a deal done without the backstop. If we leave, the EU will be forced to put up borders, would we not be able to say we aren’t going to put one up and so the EU/Irish have to do the border and they are the ones making the move not us
  25. if that is the case then the opposition parties should vote for an election as the majority will obviously vote them in
