To be fair and balanced Pompey lost yesterday

be wary of speaking too soon

again, if you look he is only 3 or 4 ft from his goal line. The goal keeping coach should have him coached to be 5 or 6 ft off the line to increase the angle.

New Podcast Out - Ep 13 - What's gone wrong at Saints?
OldNick replied to twoandahalfstuds's topic in The Saints
they didn't even know that Simms is injured longterm. No good lamenting about the football when they were asking for Puel to be gone, he gave us one of the best experiences for years and we sacked him, shameful -
I recall the story of how ML in his dying days made a long journey to present his friend a watch ( I think this was the case) and that NC promised ML to carry on Marcus's dream. Therefore if that was indeed the case, he may have thought that was his remit. I know it is heresy to say anything about KL, but IMO her long term plan, was only ever to get the best price for herself. Nothing wrong in that, but ML with NC were going to be ruthless to get our club where they had stated it would be.CL football as fanciful as it seemed was very close to us if the investment had been made, in those days when the big clubs were in flux. NC run the club as a dictator and yes it did ruffle the feathers of many people, especially those who were used to freebies. I have no malice toward KL or any board since the Go Wilde days but I think fans should show a bit more respect and gratitude to NC, who put SFC under the nose of ML and sold us to him. If not imagine that consortium that Matty had foolishly backed taking over, we would now be playing at the Sports Centre

Yes it was me. IMO none of our keepers have improved under his watch. FF is a monster and surely he should have been coached to dominate his area. Again as I posted earlier he sets himself a few feet from his line, he should be coached to stand a few feet further out to increase the arc of his reach covered

I don't know what religion you follow but none of that seems to fall in with any I have witnessed

Put Redmond up alongside a forward and let his pace down the middle cause problems
-
I have never rated our goalkeeping coach, since I watched him go through the motions pre match with our keepers. As I stated at the time, he was more interested in brushing his golden locks off his face than concentrate on the keeper drills. As for Forster, I watched last night his position setting himself up for any shot. He was only about 4ft from hs goal line when the ball was struck. Surely it should be a case of him to be 5 or 6 feet from his line. This would improve his chance to get to the shots at the extreme of his reach

the right thing to do was replace the 2 forwards that had been sold at the start of last season, so Puel had a chance.

I haven't seen anyone claiming that it was down to a few fans on here, it was the fanbase in general. Perhaps the fans who read this and other social media sites did help whip it up.

I understand the frustration of the so-called dull football but that was due to the fact that we couldn't score. I have watched may dull games but as soon as a goal went in the whole perspective changed. Just look at match threads on here 2 or 3 seasons ago and see how dull it was and how that we were rubbish etc, then a goal went in and 'we will finish top 4' We sold Mane and Pelle, many said we needed to fill the gap but the club played the 3 card rick of we had already signed a replacement a few months before. They may have pulled the wool over a lot of peoples eyes but there were quite a few who still flagged it up In my opinion we played some superb football last season, but just didn't have aa finisher. We have got to get on with it as we are where we are, but I lament how the club and vast majority of fans were classless in their treatment of what seems to me. a decent man
-
your opinion that he was rubbish. He did pretty well steering the ship to acup final and 8th. All the crying about rotation etc when we had to play in Europe as well as domestic football. The amount of different teams the fans on here want to put out, it would be rotation extreme. Puel had 2 handicaps, he had a squad that had over 30 goals ripped from it and not rectified, and his aftermatch communication was poor, well you have someone who smiles there now, whoopee dee
-
weird interview by the manager. I couldn't quite get what he was saying but it seems he knows he is not safe in his job!He shouldn't worry as he does interesting interviews, that seems to be very important with our fans
-
the fans thought that the problem was Puel, when it was the case that we lost over 30 goals and didn't replace that hole. We were a better side last season and created more, just had players who couldn't put the ball away
-
Puel was not given the tools to do the job, players who cant score
-
sad that he didn't know if he was playing well or not. He only had to ask
-
well they have smashed the glass ceiling many more time than us. Look at their trophies over the last 20 or so years.

I'm not a great fan of Reed but it may not have been him who didn't want us to push on, but perhaps KL. I suspect she was very comfortable watching her asset go up in value without any risk. Reed would only be able to push the bot out so far, and he would have seen what happened to NC when t seems to me that he tried to spend more than she wanted
-
if he refuses to play due to state of mind, I assume that will cost the club, as his value will drop. Liverpool will gain as well as he will have got his way. Perhaps it would be best to make it clear that under no circumstances will he be sold untilhe has played at least 20 more games for us. That may focus his mind
-
It would be a case of cutting off our noses to spite our faces to boo him. As long as he comes back and shows desire then we should back him. At the end of the day the better he does the better the gets a return and in principle can invest more once he leaves
-
It was a sobering period, but I was 11 and they were the greatest team in the word to my mind. I was at the 3 home games you mention, right at the front of the Archers end wall behind the goal
-
I thought the game where we 3 down to WHU and then drew 3 all was that period
