  1. Why are Arsenal players trying to imitate an Archer penalty
  2. We are of differing opinions, and going around in circles.
  3. Many times but they are submersed by the many days of dross. Cup semi final v Palace 1976 Cup final 76 Fratton 84 My first ever first team game when we lost to Leeds 3-1 circa 1968-69 First away game WHU Tommy Jenkins wonder jinking run and goal 1970? First Fratton game in with their fans we won 2-1 Lew Chatterly scoring Beating Liverpool 4-1 Wallace days, in fact beating Liverpool anytime, Man Utd also Leyton Orient away when we got the point for promotion with Lawrie Dellhurst Park just too many to list although the disappointment list is longer lol
  4. Well if you cheer every time we kick off then you could well have had a great day Are you really believing that the squad availible Saturday was capable of 'Having a go'? For all we know they may have been lol. Juric tried but that wasnt good enough for you and so you expect Rusk to be sullied by an obvious naive tactic of playing open football and tking a proper hiding. I want us to play good football but Ive seen us be dismantled by manymid range clbs this season, and Villa are better than them. Perhaps try it a bit more agianst West Ham, Fulham Leicester but then dont come back crying as we've beenbeaten badly. You alos need to take into account TP was only 60% fit due to his ankle injury and our other forward looks to be incapable, who else do we have, who can control our midfield to give a solid defensive cover to allow our team of creative playmakers to make those killer passes...........ohhhhhhh
  5. it seems you are happy leaving the door open and see us let a bagful in. Seeing the stadium empty after 80 mins after their 2nd goal was bad enough but to see it after 25 is awful. The TV cameras would love that. You are set with your go down with all guns blazing stand, but with the squad as poor as it is, we wouldnt know the difference. Thankfully the manager did not go your way Saturday, the same result of course but for a long time it looked that it may work.
  6. Well to me, being thrashed again does not give the fans pleasure. I understand the 'go for it' mindset, but not against a team who could tear us apart. Fans are disgruntled enough let alone another thrashing. I felt the fans on Saturday understood what we were trying to do, suffocate and perhaps nick something. Only after the worldy goal after our mistake did it go a bit pear shaped. I dont want to go the rest of the season being thrashed, but play with a bit of brain and get a little pride
  7. we havent replaced the goals of Che lol
  8. what a coup that would be, as big as Keegan comng here
  9. I listened to the BBC podcast with Mourhinho today, what a manager.
  10. Have i got it wrong ?
  11. Yes the defenc does start at the front, but we havent the physically or type of player to do so. Tall Paul can cause problems with the ball up to him but he is not built to keep running down defenders. Its horses for courses. As for giving the midfield away, that is true but there was no combination availible to stop it. Perhps Flynn coming back with Lesley may provide a better more solid midfield this weekend
  12. We did lose by 3 but playing gung ho was like inviting a Kamakazi pilot to fly you on a short break. Imagine if by going gung ho that we were 2 down in 15 minutes, it was sad to see so many leave when they scored the 2nd. Our fnbase is pretty demoralised as it is, but to risk a proper thrashing against one of the best teams in the league would be madness. How can we ever think that the team could 'go for it' is pie in the sky. Perhaps tyr to be more aggressive and attack on Saturday or perhaps at Leicester (they are looking better, and i dont hold out much hope there) where the quality of opposition is lower may be valid.
  13. Oh come on, having come up against amateur refs over the years, a lot of them were poor (not saying Whitey was lol ) . Blind the lot of them.
  14. Sounds reads like Dave Merrington !! give it a go etc etc and beats the drum of 'his side'. Yes great to have a go and gung ho, but as in the Spurs, Brentford games etc sides would pick us offand be scoring a hatfull. Playing with this side as a defensive unit was the only way IMO. We did so and created the best chance in the first half only for our forward to not go for goal or cross the ball for a chance, but do a hybrid bit of both. Going a goal up may have helped and no doubt we would be lauding the manager. It took a world class finish to break us, as well as our usual f@@@ up
  15. The word 'advantage' is the moot point. How was it an advantage that our player received the ball and was closed down by 2 players? Our problem is that Fernandes lays down whining everytime he gets tackled. I wish he was told by our people to get up quickly as usually the other side are going on a counter. He cries wolf too much and itgoes against us when he has a true foul on him. Great player but he needs to not overact when he gets tackled.
  16. I dont think they could make the play offs for League 1 this season as they are in the Championship, they are having a good go at it though. I suspect they may petition the league to allow them to, after all I think they say Wembley is their home ground
  17. Brilliant, yes youve got it. Add to that the marches, as if anybody at the top even notices or takes any notice. What fans have got to understand that to a degree Solak puts his own money in (not £700 for a season ticket, that is moaned about) I doubt there is a handful of fans who would put their lifesavings/house on the line for the club, because thats what Solak is kind of doing. What is the saying how do you make a multi millionaire into a millionaire, buy a football club
  18. I think he should only ever do Radio interviews, Quasimodo would have a better chance with the ladies.......that's my hunch anyway
  19. Linaker saying expansive and stylish football, am I missing somethong? As that is not what I saw it as !!
  20. MG you are usually very cutting, Im worried you are going soft lol. It was like a party political forecast, no tough questions. Tyically of Linaker he went along and said Shearer was critical, so was he talking about all the mistakes to goals etc. and critical of us. Put up his win percentage for every team he has managed and the goals conceded column. He is as smooth as it comes but to tell us that he was getting it right is a complete falsehood. I look at him all calm and happy, me knowing he has taken 10M plus from the club all in the name of his own vanity project. Champions league ffs Oh thanks for the summary BTW it would have taken time to do so
  21. they are both woke luvvies and so will have got on well
  22. People are poking fun at us, yes but most are sympathetic to the fans and what weve gone through and repect that we turn up in numbers. Many clubs this season have been seen as jokes, all apaart from Ipswich of the failing clubs who seem to be immune from it. Whilst Im born and bred in Southampton and very proud of it ( I dont live there now) but when I return to our fine city Iam appalled how/what it has become. A shodow of what it was 30 or so years ago. When I was growing up Soton was quite a nicecity and Pompeythe dump, now it seems the roles have reversed
