  1. he would be a great signing who could rekindle his career with us. Sadly I expect his wages would be too much
  2. A true hero. If he was with us now he would be gone already. The club would have sold my childhood hero. Not the clubs fault as he would have an agent who would have had Busby getting him to agitate so that Big Ron moved to them. I feel sorry for the young fans now who see their heors sold year in year out. I cant see many players of todays generation having the same affection from the fans in generations. RL is the closest I would have thought.
  3. That's not the Few, theres no drums, bells, or young boys
  4. I might go to see that. It was on the small screen at the Odeon Salisbury and so chose to watch Bourne instead.
  5. Went and watched it last night. Usual stuff, a bit of a cross between Enemy of the State and all the others in the series. If you like car chaes then you will love it. It amazes me that nobody gets prosecuted for death by reckless driving lol
  6. Watching Pompey fans Read is funnier
  7. was Pied the one complaining about us giving a derisory offer?
  8. but it was her own loss making club. If you buy a property that is a wreck and do it up it is still yours and you have enhanced your property. You dont go and sell the front door to get your money back. It is an asset that is convenient to place 30m( I cant recall what the loan was) into so that it provides interest or dividends. Just another arm of her investments. As it is a football club that we all have invested in we give the owners more slack than if it was a high street store.
  9. As much as I dislike the runt I would swap lallana for Tadic
  10. but as she owns the club she is lending herself the money.I didnt notice her selling the club to anybody.
  11. She has loaned to her own business, has she not? I would be amazed if she was not drawing interest on that money and as she is a billionaire leaving a small amount (to her) and it is working is clever business. The club has become even wealthier this season, our costs have not gone up as much and we have lost over the last 3 years the majority of our highest wage earners. The unknowns who arrived would most probably been on lower salaries until they proved themselves.
  12. Im sure i read somewhile ago that he wanted to finish his career in Portugal. Funny that there were rumours of him going to Cardiff a season or so ago. I cant recall too many complaints then and as for Simon Jordan(?) scoffing that we had paid far too much for him
  13. Ok no problem. Odd that my e-mail never got to you but Im pleased you got what you wanted.
  14. to be fair we had hysteria when Reagan was elected and he didnt do too badly. He got the then Cold War to defrost a bit
  15. yep, although I think there were always those would didn't like him as he took Adkins job. As I wasn't such a fan of Adkins I didn't worry, but again was very disappointed when MP left
  16. I think it is great how Pompey have helped a disabled kid, he got out of his wheelchair and walked for the first time so that he could go and turn the TV off when they were being screened
  17. it seems to be the same deal as we had with Toby......lets hope we tie the loose ends up a bit better if we can get a buy clause put in
  18. great signing, I'm surprised that he was never plucked from Swansea sooner. He gives his all and will make a big difference to them. Shrewd signing, and 10m doesn't matter to a fan as long as the team improves.
  19. our most successful manager of all time left Alan Ball to do the training. It seems people are trying to hide their disappointment in RK leaving and trying to do him down but I suspect we would all have him back in a heartbeat. To me there seems a bit of unease about the new leap into the dark
  20. I watched 'out of the furnace' starring Woody Harrelson the other night and didnt understand the ending, Anybody care to enlighten me?
  21. Did the American research talk about pop corn lung? Doesnt sound too good to me. I do agree that if it takes people away from cigs that must be better. It seems to me though that people who give up fags go cold turkey, instead of cutting a cigarette a day out of their normal amount and then a couple of weeks later cut down another until their bodies are used to the lower levels of nicotene. Eventually they will get to just 1 or none a day. To give it all up one day and try and cope must be very difficult
  22. that is surprising as you would think practice makes perfect
  23. Lol, although not surprised:) Is that the one with 6 reverse gears
