I'm in the real world as I'm a winner. I don't accept being 6/7/8th being some kind of glory. No doubt you have the commemorative scarf saying we finished 6th, but that is just also ran. Why do we have to go back 10 years? The money has been insane for a long time.Wigan, Boro , Pompey, Swansea, Leicester (not only the PL), I suggest others as well. I know you will say that some are in the lower leagues,(we have been as well and there is no guarantee we might not be in the future) but they have their names on the cups, they have had the visits to Wembley and adrenaline rush of actually winning something. It is easy to roll out Osvaldo and Ramirez as examples, but probably shows we didn't do good due diligence. I'm not asking for 30+ million signings BTW. Whilst fans accept 6/7/8th being some kind of miracle, we will continue to have the same debates. I'm very happy you are satisfied with that low expectation but please excuse others who want proper success. I'm not asking for the PL but perhaps a cup or 2

Its confusing isnt it:)

CB, I appreciate your more measured reply.Im a very loyal person and so understand your position and I was in the same boat when Lowe was here as well as NC. I have just become tired of the way I believe that the club sell the assets and fail to reinvest in proven quality. I have watched lesser teams win many trophies over the last 20 or so years and wonder why it isnt us. I want to share the stories of great days out on cup winning days with fellow fans and family etc, IMO that is unlikely to happen if we constantly sell the diamonds and buy players with possible potential. Yes the club has its hands tied by the modern day agents but it seems to me that we are an easy touch and cynically we have the players made always to look the bad guys and the club shrugging its shoulders and saying what can we do. There must be middle ground on this. Anyway I will move on and hold my beliefs whether they are right or wrong until somebody can show me why. I suggest there is a large section of the fanbase who are disgruntled and in time that may come to the surface if results and performances do not match with expectations

yep would be good but I cant see that happening. We dont seem to do swaps, we like to take the money and then try and find someone cheaper elsewhere. Great when it works
-
this goes back years, of all the great forward lines we have had I feel the Le Tiss Rod Wallace and Shearer was the best. Le Tiss with Rod Wallace was electric. Sadly 2 of the 3 left for bigger things. Another 'if only'

No let me say this again so that you can eventually digest it , my comment was about you and nobody else. You are a psycophant of the highest order, you are unable to question anything the club does and blindly come on to try and insult anybody who rightly or wrongly has a different opinion on how the club is run. I have disagreed with many opinions on here ove the years and do my best to be civil, you are not bright or curteous enough to be civil to others, therefore i have to trawl the depths in remarks to you so that I can get to your level. Oh and just for the record, I am a very successful idiot, fool, simpleton. BTW, it is not the most successful period in our clubs history, there was life before the PL

ahh another of the clubs men. I was never part of the Go Wilde fools thanks very much.I don't get taken in by the hype and the PR these people dream up.
-
No it was just an observation of you, nobody else
-
no I was right the first time
-
Iam confused why you replied to a post to CB Fry, are you the one who is confused?
-
you maybe right there CB, but you are just a club suck up and you'd let them dump in your mouth and you'd say thank-you.
-
Surely we keep off loading our big wage earenrs each year and replacing with up and coming players who would be on less money
-
If you say so, but it is not spending lots of money but in any business the better quality of the raw material the better the finish. I cant seem any fans out there saying we have a squad of the same ability as last season, add to that the extra games we have to play. Ralph told us that the money in in the first cull would be spent, that never materialised and it hasn't since. Yes you may say we had a better season on season finish but that was during a couple of seasons where the top teams were in flux. Things have changed and the chance we had has slipped away
-
yes and I assume there could be a brass plate on the wall in the Virgin Islands or the like for a holding company to draw income.
-
there are good and bad ones, perhaps having one that will go a little more for success would be nice.
-
does she get interest on her loan?
-
No but it does have something to do with the fans perceptions. I agree with both of you, in that we have to give the manager time and he could turn out to be a gem, but also that batman is correct in that you dont have to have worked in the game to be able to assess a player etc.
-
I just think that the fans moral has been knocked as we get to a decent position year on year and or heroes are sold from beneath us. Slowly people will be turned off as they will see that they are being mugged off. If the plan is to develop and sell, perhaps the owners should drop the ticket prices
-
Im not enamoured about the club or manager at present but we do have to give him sometime. The decision has been made and so we have to follow the project
-
Turks that is the most amusing post for a long time. What happened to the 'In Les we trust.' and Ralph knows what he is doing lol I do agree what you put though, it is about time we as fans stopped accepting that we are happy to take mid table and actually go out to win something. I want to watch us win something with my daughters and grand daughter, not them seeing having to accept 'over achieving by finishing 8th.' nonsense. The only way to get long term fans is to get them enthused by supporting a club that wins things, not producing players for other clubs to win things. Mid table is fine if you win a cup of course.
-
apparently it was a great result as they were in a league above them last season
-
Long had still a way to run and a defender was also coming across.Whilst I agree that Long would have won the chase, I'm not sure he is that good at finishing when through
-
Gemmel, it is not like you to be so judgemental after one game. The lad was obviously a tad nervous in his first game, and also the pressure is on him to be a goal scorer as we haven't much else. Give him a chance, I don't believe he is an Henry but we need him to do well as our midfield ain't going to score many, and Long is hardly prolific. I saw the highlights and thought that Target put in a few decent crosses that Pelle would have loved.
-
we are back to players seeing that sulking gets you a move. If the club really did want to set a precedent and let a player rot until the contract is finished so that it warned future players then we should have done it some time ago. As the clubs policy is to develop and sell they are happy for the player to look the bad guy as they take the income in. on this occasion I think the club would be doing the right thing, Fonte is 32 and deserves a chance at the top table. If it was a lower team then perhaps not, but the chance for him to play for Man Utd, sadly I think it will end like RL. I think Hutchinson at Sheffield We'd is decent. He is not tall but reminds me of a young John Terry, brave and committed

I assume you are alluding to Cortese, the 3 players were? Osvaldo Ramirez, and? Im sure there will be one but i cant recall. I thnk it is hard to criticise a Chairman who backed the manager with money, Cortese would not have chosen the players, but les, Mitchell and of course the manager. You have to consider that whilst it was ML and his money,NC was the man who convinced Marcus about the great invesment. Leicester had of course been on a championship winning run at the end of the season previous. i think also there was talk of us being interested in Vardy.
