a few things. AA trying to turn the screw on Gaydamek to take poor terms. To put fear into the FL, really if there was a real threat they would postpone tomorrows game, and so they give up on the 4 items.. Funny timimg how Leicester have just had their new owners accepted by the FL and so that leaves MM to ride in again as the saviour. Sky making out how heroic they were winning their battle in the high court. We have days of people crying about job losses but the media skirt over the 30m lost to the exchequor. PES you still have your club and still will have this time next week /next year. Watching those fans on Sky is a good cross section of what you should be proud of.

Gemmels point was that you didn't take up the option for a second batch of 1000 tickets, hence that is why there was room for the 170 others who turned up on the night.

The Spending Review (tackling the Socialists debt mountain)

I don't see pensioners as rich, but there again Im a bit closer to being one than you Mike. Don't fall for the rich getting away with it. The super rich maybe as they can flit from country to country but generally everyone is worse off. -

the rest of the world,I assume you are not counting Ireland Spain Greece, are not in the state we are in. If it is so easy to spend on hospitals schools and health why dont the rest of the world? We have debts that are unsustainable and you spout about putting paying it off slower, well the interest on the interest gets bigger the longer you let it fester. There is no soft way out of this, and the prudent, who have saved in the good days are now paying for the irresponsible people who spent spent spent. It is not all down to the banks,we were outspending our earnings years before the banks went pearshaped. The nation went on a spending spree and the chickens have come home to roost. -

but if the jobs are not needed but just manufactured (only thing that this country can manufacture now) the wages will be far more than benifits. A % will get a job and so i doubt all will go on the dole. I would like no-one to lose their job but we are in this state and so we have to plug some holes. -
i dont think that is the case The parachutes are being used up to pay the football creditors/ Chanrai etc. You need to go up this season me thinks
-
they are all a bag of snakes. If Pompey went back up they would have the PL riches to stave off the creditors. The FL clubs caving into PL pressure late last season to allow the extra parachute monies saved pompeys bacon. if it had been to the old money they would be gone
-
I dont think the Liverpool fans woulod want him after playing for their 2 biggest rivals. They haven't the money. its man c for me, and after watching SAF on sky yesterday the wounds are opening and it will get nasty. Rooney will know going to Man c will tear SAF apart.
-
yep and the media telling the world about a 'fairytale story'for the poor Pompey fans Lol
-
I have had a feeling that Chanrai has been hedging his bets and waiting to see what unfolds for them in the league. if they are close to the play-offs in jan he would be mad not to pump some cash in and go for the PL riches again. That squad is as good as most if not all in the CCC. It is beyond belief that a team that is in administration can field such a side. The media seem oblivious as well as the rest of football to it.

the taxes that are generated by the banking system would be replaced by what? Where are we going to get the heavy industries like Germany and japan. We all drive their products or use their Tvs etc all big tag products. It is a terrible situation and it is worrying for our children and children's children, whatever political persuasion you follow. -
if football had just been invented and they were to launch it, they would make it 40k stadia upwards, and regional teams. That would make the revenue streams far better. I see another break away coming with Mna u'd finances and the PL losing its gloss with so many ESPN type matches being played

If you are thinking of going to France be aware that there is no fuel to be had. I have had a French customer on the phone and it is nye impossible to get fuel due to their strikes against raising of the pensionable age. Trains, underground, planes are in chaos. The petrol stations are limiting fuel to £10 ,if they have any. Avoid going if you can.

Modern society is so soft. The first small cuts and there was bleating. The soft option is to keep borrowing and pass it on to the next generation, and on again. The moment Britain loses its AA credit rating and the interest charged is raised, our debts will spiral even more. Its like moving your mortgage from a low rate to a higher rate, madness. By doing nothing /little the rating will be effected. The Labour party telling us that they know what to do is laughable, oh yes lets tax the banks and so they move and all their taxes are lost. They are global , they wont think twice about upping sticks if they think it is worth it. What is our country left with then to earn us money? Labour took on a golden economy, the timing of them coming to power was perfect for Blair and co. Our national debt had been basically wiped out under the Tories and what are we left with? I don't wish for people to lose jobs, and would look to find ways of avoiding that but it is inevitable that this will happen. Too many jobs were manufactured by the last government and to have 40% of the population working for the state seems madness. Im not sure we have the skills to start big manufacturing again, but we need to find some fast. -
thanks for that, when i see a friend i will ask him about this. He is no longer at the club but was very much in the know and with the squad and so will be able to verify what you say.
-
WGS did well for a period when BT Bridge Killer and Marsden were playing superbly together. When he had to make signings !!!! We were left with a poor and bare squad. I still liked him but it was Emperors new clothes. he made us fitter and mean in defence but as soon as Briodgey and Marsden left we lost it.Then WGS decided to leave and let it be known and our spiral started then.

Ho's ok, he gets smarmy and precious at times but in the main he is just a football fan who defends his club.I bet he slags them off in company but defends them like mad when anyone dares to have a go....ring any bells with any on here.I know i do. i did smile when he put that Halford is in the squad and will play against Millwall but then qualifies it with 'allegedly' just in case it doesn't happen and he is found out again Lol. Even Ho is not 100% sure that AA etc are telling the truth

the Strictly Come Dancing Can Can routine has a difficult start

they'd have more if it was creditors

yep I forgot about Fabregas so lets make it 4

I agree that i would like to see the players belting out the song , but all people react different ways. i believe he loves playing for the country and does not need to sing the national anthem, afterall he may not be royally minded, isnt there a bit of irish in his background? Do you condemn Rebecca Adlington when she received her gold medal at the Olypics she was chatting to the girl next to her as the flag was raised, now that did p### me off

What about Crouch then? the granny thing is a bit over the top, i think she was in her 40's and had a child at a young age.I agree he went to a prossie and not someone throwing themselves at him, stupidity in many ways. It showed intelligence paying for it as in theory they don't spill the beans (bad wording lol) but if he picked up an aspiring 'model' they are more likely to go to the papers.

Just this morning i had a chat with Orange regarding their broadband package i have. it was 19.99 but they have reduced it to 15 pm plus 4 months free. They also had some other packages that included free weekend calls etc. They did say mine is unlimited and then went into a long thing about the extra GB i had compared to others and are sending me some fantastic hub thing. The operator was quite upbeat about it. I woulod look at them as i have found their staff very good and helpful (Geordies)

it is an interesting development, AA actually not agreeing to them raising their wage bill. Surely Cotterill had asked permission to get the lad in???? Perhaps AA doesn't rate him and is not one of his choices Lol
