  1. there is bound to be some trick lined up
  2. Disappointing but his departue may mean a space for another
  3. I think that when you turn up and meet old friends your allegences would come back.It took a while for the new stadium to become home and so I suspect the same would be under a new name.
  4. Not today Im snowed in!!!
  5. Lol
  6. they did not sell 15k s/t's it was barely over 10k. So if they can sell more on matchdays they will have more money but not enough to pay the wage bill. I get your drift though
  7. is this for real????????? Last time they were in administration they told us to f### right off when help was offered. Ironic a Pompey fan begging by the TB statue. He was there when they disrespected the great mans name.
  8. Pompey whilst trading will not get penalised unless it is proved they have broken the laws of the land, or PL rules. That is correct ,but I suspect all deep down know that there is a massive can of worms, when opened could mean record penalties. It is not the fans who are at fault, but ultimately they are the ones who are really hurt. Look at Luton as an example. PS HR Gaydamek and the Arabs will walk away damaged financially but the fans who have invested their life in the club could be damaged without doing anything wrong. There is no justice, although they have the memories of their cup win
  9. That is something that occured to me some time ago. If they have promised future tv money against loans , only for the PL to have withheld it then it will make things interesting.
  10. if games are postponed how will that effect their cashflow????? It may of course be postive, they wont have win bonusses (ohh) and appearance money stewards etc. The african players will return as well for the games cancelled.
  11. when we were runners up I think you will find Shilts was our keeper.
  12. just underlines what a disaster Morans nightclub incident was. I also saw all the home games. Under the West stand in those days. The ground had a bigger capacity in those days as well. Phil Boyer a top player as well. Such good times to be a saints fan in those days
  13. that file that wasnt loaded properly last week must be massive, they havent got some dippy blonde trying to push a load of paper into the dvd player on the computer i assume
  14. some might think that the Uni has not been paid its rent and turfed them off....
  15. wrong type of money, they cant get hold of any straight stuff.
  16. why am I not surprised Lol
  17. Pompey paid their other staff yesterday. That tells me they are not throwing their cap in yet and so I fully expect the players to be paid. That gives the club more time.
  18. 'It's your turn to have a lobotomy like the simples behind me' Grant barks as he does his best to look like Darth Vader
  19. true but it is useless using glories from before the 60's and even our FaCup win in the late 70's is starting to become long distant pat to most.
  20. but a lot of those self interests is to not let them go into admin. It is a strange mix
  21. when we were in the PL the major shareholders didnt want to sell their shares as it was long term likely to be a good investment. If we had stayed up and the tv revenues flowed the shareholders would have made a mint. It fell at the last hurdle. Of ocurse some big mistakes were made but all the longterm people who had their noses in the trough wouldnt sell and so a sugar daddy could not come in anyway. Of course if he paid 2-3 times the clubs worht they may have sold, but that was not goin to happen.
  22. Their fans must have watched it 10 times each then
  23. Noel Blake
  24. 123 you at least have raised your head for the first time in months. Gone is the arrogance we have had for a couple of years. Many pointed out the madness of your expenditure, but you and others scoffed as you lived in the belief that the tv revenue would cover it.We only had to look at Saints losing 100k+ a week with a few highly paid stars at that time to realise that the PL machine is a very hungry animal, clubs with small fanbases would not be able to survive the requiremnt of its owners to pay back the money. Stand bacdk and look at Pompey from a unbiased postion, and then you might see the why so many (not only saints fans ) could see the madness why you spent like it was going out of fashion. It was like buying a Austin Allegro and then putting in top of the range music systems , gold plate the wheel hubs, re upholster the seats with white rhino leather and have a platinum steering wheel , all on borrowings. Of course you had promised the banks that you had a top of the range rolls royce and that would cover any loan. The bank one day saw what you really owned and lost its nerve and wanted thier money back, the platinum steering wheel went straight away as it was saleable, the rhino leather were striped off but the return was miserly, and the gold plated wheel hubs you thought had a value was soon to be shown not to be the case as the Allegro owners club found them too expensive. To make it even more difficult the Austin Alegro already had loans up to and above its value. Nobody actually seems to know what the club owes or is worth but the 2 year world cruise on credit is going to screw you for generations.
  25. No it can't Lol
