No doubt Gaddafi 's son does not have the baggage of his father but should football not be ashamed that a person from this background may buy a British football club.Have we as a nation of football lovers lost our sense of what is right. i know it is easy for me to say 'I would not support a club with him as an owner' but Im fairly sure i would be ashamed. I dont wish for Pompey to end but THIS? Shame on football shame on all football lovers
-
That is very fair StM but his name has been bandied about for quite some time, and I suspect a lot of people would not consider taking him on.....Pompey is a different thing , in fact |Im surprised he is not embarrassed talking to them!!!
-
I was under the impression it was hard to make it watertight.
-
If the Gaddafi family gut it the debts will not be a problem.
-
it is a marriage that would be apt. Gaddafi running an English football club, it just adds to the complete shame our football is in the UK. I dont think if it was saints i could support them with his familyh involved/ It is ominous that Phil was not very dismissive of the news. Whats the betting the gardening leave will all of a sudden when they get financial safelty....Im must say I thought gardening leave was a thing of the past as it is against the treaty of rome etc due to restriction of trade.
-
wasn't that a rumour a year or so ago? It would add up with a arms dealer being tied into them some time ago
-
yep it was all over the news and reported in all the papers....not! i think it was frontline news in the Marc Jacobs and Storrie news
-
the silence is eerie. The papers have not had any really bad news for them for 24hours. Only talk of another lamb to the slaughter to buy them. Has jacob come out with any other quote of reassurance? Have they put in for their appeal against the HMRC? So many questions..
-
I must say I dont envy them. I remember the day when the people I knew at SMS told me there was nothing going to happen and that it looked like the end. I kept waiting and hoping but despair set in. All those deadlines drove me crazy. Thankfully we had a happy ending.

Is it correct there was soething in the news of the World yesterday saying that the Pompey players will walkout en-masse if they do not get their wages this friday?
-
Im not overjoyed, but you just knew ir was going to happen, and then the fumble by Mrs Moore
-
If so then bring it on. It would be pefect for your club as the coffers would be filled, but it would be far better that you played your Northern twins Wigan. You may even get into a 5 figure attendance then.

Wow that is some strong competition. Lenny henry ought to move down there he would have a cracking chance to seem funny, if so

anyone...but Pompey. When they looked to be going down a few seasons back and they won at FP 1-0 it reignited thier season and they started a winning run.Had KP's shot gone in, not hit the post it would have been the hammer blow. i dont want that risk. Also their pent up frustration and ire would have a focus and I think it could be worse than at at any time before. I dont want to take my daughter to a match thinking she may see a lot of violence thanks
-
Iam not deluded enough to want to play pompey. They need somewhere to target their ire and a match with us could become pretty nasty off the pitch. As for a game of football, I do not feel we are ready to take them on, and hope to go out to another.

If he had been allowed to sign and they had missed the small print that could have sent them into admin, as they would have had to pay 250k immediately to Watford. How can the PL sit back and watch a club that is so patently unprofessional. All the millions of pounds they get in and something as simple as the checking of a contract gets missed until the final minute. It is incompetance. Storrie who is earning over a £1m should resign, as he should be where the buck stops. Interesting that they couldnt find anyone to speak to re james but instantly did when the contract thing sprung up.
-
dont forget they were going to sell 16ooo season tickets My info was less than 10k but of course Ho's in the know lol
-
Just what i was going to put. Fishy that, a bit of you scratch my back type of thing perhaps. Or does HR have a sell on fee if they get a profit. I know some managers do get a slice of any profit on players that are sold
-
It was 300 for the reading and 2,999,700 for the image rights
-
Thats why they dont agree to CVA's when you come out of admin if they have not been paid up
-
wonder what flavour crisps he would wish for. Fishy fingers perhaps

This message on there made me smile. 'Could it possibly have been that those officials at Fratton Park had other matters to deal with that were considered more important to the club than helping Stoke out of a hole? The word 'priorities' springs to mind' Does it not realise that to get rid of a high wage earner was a priority and then to think they were doing Stoke a favour Lol

The father will be jealous as well
