  1. A family friend plays for Luton, i have already texted him to say 'never mind there's always next year' It is causing a rift in our family as some want to support Luton on the day!!! Son in law and son are already doing so (he's a toffee anyway)
  2. Those Pompey transfer gossip threads are going to be fun soon. Anybody got a good song to the tune of Tony Christies one they abused us with in our relegation season?
  3. i see your reasonable parts of debate. The tar sands are being refined as the price of oil has got to a stage where it is profitable to do so. You can hardly blame the Canadians for doing so. I read some time ago the north sea only has about 20% of its resource ever tapped the rest is not cost effective to get to, if the price stayed at $100 a barrel for a long time that would be got to as well. My point about the element is that there is an arrogance in the academic world that only they can be right and so dismiss any other idea. I hope for all our grandchildrens sakes that man can change the climate but we wil never be around to see if we really did it.Much like a fighter pilot shot down and killed in the battle of britain he would have never known if his efforts were worthwhile. Of course that is an extreme coparison but Im sure you get my drift. Can you tell me what happened to the hole in the o-zone? Last I read was that the hole had gone. Now surely us giving up some aerosols could not have made that much difference so quickly!
  4. Iam a sceptic. In the 70's I was at school and we lived in fear of the energy crisis. We as impressionable 10-12 year old kids were bombarded with tales of there is less than 20years of fuel left and we'd all be walking. Those scentists and advisors got it wrong big time. My father also in the 1970's assured by a proffesor from Southampton university that there were no more elements and they had all been found, it was an impossibilty. That is the arrogance of well educated people in their field. They close their minds to being wrong. If we in the uk all stopped using cars and stopped switching the light on would not effect man made climate change (if there indeed is such a thing), in fact if the world cuts emisssions by 30% that will help very little IMO. I do the best I can regarding recycling and reducig a carbon footprint in case it is true but the enviroment is a political and economic issue. Too many peoples living is tied up with the green issue for it to be properly assessed by us lay men.
  5. I sit in the Northam and accept we have to move on certain games. i have called for us to have us have a proper home end I would be fine if the club moved the Northam to the Chapel so we could all raise the roof together.
  6. Well a friend plays for Luton and he has kept that quiet, we were due to all go out tuesday night into salisbury but he cancelled until next week due to playing so????.In fact the family is divided as some are going to support Luton!!!!!!
  7. I promise you it is not a case of stting down all game in those rows.It is up down, up down all frigging game. The stewards are at us all the time. As for the opening post, have I missed something and Rotherham have gone through??? I doubt Luton will be very pleased if we are dismissing them already.Strangley i expect if Luton are our opponents then they will mean a bigger gate.
  8. yet again our away support sounded superb on the radio
  9. yep thanks Mike
  10. Ladysaint, I have never in the 40+years of watching saints seen any of these values that are a dream IMO. As a fan I have only ever been seen as a cash cow. Under every regime I have been expected to be grateful for small mercies and only under the LM pereiod have I seen a team to be really proud of. Even then the board did not support him to go and get the final bit of the jigsaw to win us the league. ML is the father figurehead IMO and he I suggest does not wish to be usurped by any of the old guard. Anyway i dont believe there is 1 who has not got criticism or been devisive. (not H.Taylor as he s to my limited knowledge a fan) Lets just have success and move up and not worry about the frills until we are back to where we belong.
  11. is it an emergency loan from the PFA? I think they have done something on those lines before.
  12. NEWS JUST In Pomey are to be bought by L'Oreal .....because they're WORTHLESS
  13. its a ot more enjoyable expecting a positive result though. Im obviously easily pleased but I quite like the football played at present.None of that fancy Dan putting 3 or 4 passes together along the back line then up to the midfield and then to the back 4 again like you get in the Pl
  14. is this a 5 minute argument or the full hour?
  15. Lambert is a very important player, it has concerned me what would happen if he got injured. Hammond and Lambert have been superb signings
  16. Thanks. I still think it was unfair on Papa for that miss and the disallowed goal did look a poor decision as it looks to me it was AL offside
  17. Fair comment but is it wrong for people to enjoy a string of good results ? Yes we were sloppy at times but there was a nervousness in the players and crowd wanting to get the monkey of being in the bottom zone off our backs. How we have yearned for having a team that plays badly but still wins. Last season we played some good football and lost time and again, ddi you feel better then? We won and there were some very good passages of play (especially in the spell in the second half) but i do agree our defence still does not seem as solid as id like. I hope Bart gets his full confidence and in turn the defenders will trust him more.i suggest jaidis reluctance to pass back to him stems from seeing him in training, in time if Bart gains their confidence it will improve.
  18. No vendetta but I personally am happier to have the clubs resources and the fans admiration go towards players who actually are worth their place. Tell me who would replace Lambert at present if he was unavailable on tueswday night? Conelly was injured and so Saga was the next in line for that position. No contest IMO
  19. without a doubt the linesman gets it right more than wrong but they also have bad days and make some awful mistakes.
  20. not forgetting a few fans as well.
  21. I assume that we would be better off with Saga playing in his place . Lol
  22. I give him a bit of leeway for that miss as he was stretching every sinew to reach the ball and was unfortunate that it just went upwards and not forward.
  23. i think he was trolling. Although I did see a saints fan on rthe Northam scream 'you lazy fat git' at lambert. Thats footie fans for you. His fininsh was class. He does look as he is carrying an injury and it shows the lack of depth in our squad that we cant afford to rest him
  24. As for his performance last night , I thought he worked hard and his pace was always a threat.Yes he does need to learn the timing of his runs and understand he can give the defender a yard start. From last nights showing he has more to offer than Antonio who shot from 50 yards and then failed to from a couple, it was comical. Both will be entertaining and frustrating in equal measure but the the fans should support them not pick at their confidence
  25. Nobody likes being substituted I agree, but it is hardly the first time he has since being here, but not after the fans had been taking the p###. Footballers get a massive lift to their egos from adulation, they dont need the fans who they think support them taking the p### so publicly. If you think it doesnt effect players then you have completely different thoughts to me.
