  1. BS the performance was a lot better last night than a lot of games under any of the managers you care to mention from last season. How many games last season would we have come back from a goal down? The concern for me was the tiredness in the last 15minutes that let Ipswich attack constantly, but we keep our nerve and the point. When we equalised I said to my daughter I'd be happy if the ref blew now and got the point.
  2. At least you have stopped doing the juvenile smileys. So 'hey ho' means take it to another thread does it. So you say this is a Noddy internet forum but spend ages writing out replies!!! Where werer the formal quotes anyway? You were making a comment that LC gave a poor response and you were prepared to give him slack that is all I was commenting on. To be fair you were not using your postas a anti RL theme. I do not agree that LC was never going to side with RL in fact there was much concern with some fans that he was so undecided which way he was going to fall. If you are intimating that you have the ear of LC that would not surprise me with the way you balance your replies.
  3. I heard the swing lowe but it was hardly audible at the front of the Northam, for me Kelvins reaction when we scored the equaliser summed it up for the team.He clapped the fans for staying behind the team and that is credit to the fans who sang the OWTS. Stu Im surprised at your attitude, but to me the anti Pompey songs are the things that drive me crazy, why give them any thought at our stadium. We will just lower ourselves to their low standards.
  4. nonsense you had Gregory? and the owners before that I can't reacll their name but were local builders.Thye both lost fortunes trying to get you up and then you went skint. Your fans abused them over at least 20 years.Probably before your time as Pompey were not in the PL then.
  5. The first line I kept as you realise it was not a good response but the 'Hey Ho' remark was an acceptance of the goings on even though you were not happy. If RL had given you such a reply would you have been so understanding? The list is artisitc licence as LC was nearly going to back RL but decided to at the last moment and the word hate is probably not the case.
  6. thats good will look forward to saying hello MB

    Damien Hirst

When money in the bank is looking like it may become worthless or the ogre of inflation raises its head people run to art and antiques. The prices were higher than expected because the buyer knows that Hirst's pieces will hold their value or even go up. People with money in the main look forward in ways to protect the value. In times of inflation antiques and art are a hedge against this, the thought of buying a piece of antique furniture that will last for generations against buy 5 times a decade at Ikea will become more pertinent as times goes on. I understand most people would rather modern pieces but a lot of the savvy buy something that lasts and appreciates in time.I myself would not buy a Hirsts work but many other things that ae on the market are affordable and waiting to go up in value

thanks but it was not allowed.
  10. I see your user name, I assume that is when you first started attending if so you would have seen highs and lows.Get yourself down there and give the team a shout you dont have to sing pro Lowe songs.
  11. She is over 21 but very decerning, although she let her standards slip as she has a boyfriend who is an Everton fan (of all the teams in the country apart from Pompey she chooses the team I hate most) MB always says hello and so if you care to do so that will be great.
  12. Yorkie we used to get to the turnstiles at the Archers hours before they opened so we could get to the front right behind the goal, freezing cold we waited and then have to smile meekly as a father squeezed his kid in a minute before kick off. There are so many memories flooding back of being behind the goal. A lad who was a friend as a kid who is a steward at the main entrance now being punched by a Man u fan for no reason. How Jackson the Palace keeper (cant recall his first name) did something that got the fans backs up and the abuse he took got to him and he let in 6. Or the comments Bob Wilson got after he broke Hugh Fishers leg when he came and dived at his feet (Hughie was never the same player again) Gordon West in the practice before we played Everton and he went into the net to pick a ball up and me shouting to him 'that's right get some practice' and him looking up at me with a killing stare and then he smiled. It soon went as we scored in the first few minutes and I said it again.I didnt get the same response but Everton went on and beat us soundly. Some of my happiest days of my life there with my oldest brother and a few mates.
  13. that is alos a blo### good idea.
  14. Iagree with a lot of that but I suggest that some posters put others backs up more regularily than others.I do categorise myself in that. I prefer Alpine being constructive rather being destructive and so am right behind his sentiments on this 1 issue.

    What are those then OB?
  16. Thats ok MB. Im sure that she's happy that a fine well mannered young man appreciates her... as for her opinion of you I'm not so sure.
  17. Calvin MB tells me I had the pleasure of sitting next to a couple of games ago, and that isnt enough to put you off going again. I'll be there with my daughter as usual
  18. no history of having a go at the board. You must be about 10, you had 30years of abusing the board because you were in our shadow.
  19. At last my memory has not gone completely.
  20. Sundance why have you such an issue with Duncan and Daren Wheeler. Both seem decent enough people and so are more prominent fans than most but they dont get trawled out for 'soundbites' as fans spokesmen and IMO dont deserve your abuse. I have many times sided with some of your views but you serve no purpose trashing people for the sake of it.
  21. It has many plusses in a symbolic nature and as you rightly say fans could not then ay about putting money in his pocket etc. Personally I believe all the normal complimentary tickets should be withdrawn except for the bank and people who actually sponsor parts of the club ie Ford McDonalds ,Orchard homes.

If only you were exaggerating,he was poor, but his goal was crucial and many fans didnt rate Bobby Stokes and his goal was priceless.
  23. I see where you are coming from but it would only be criticised if he did. There would be posts of 'well he can afford it' etc etc it wouldnt gain much for the club.Although if it meant more fans turning up it would be a brilliant idea, and constructive. i wonder if the club have sold any advertising in the corners like I suggested to them?
  24. I remember the Eric Martin incident now you mention it. The Rosenberg game was our first in Europe Ithink. Typical Saints not knowing the rules about the kits.Nowadays they just go to the store and get a set of away kit but in those days we were not so privilaged to have them to hand so easily. That is why there ar no Saints shirts signed by the players about as they were rarely given away.
  25. The result I must have mixed up in my head with the Newcastle game as I mentioned going out on away goals. The rain I remember vividly.I was only 10 or 11 and so time blurs some of these things. Was the Newcastle 0-0 away and 1-1 home? I know it something like that. Europe to me at that time didnt seem to have the importance that the FA cup did, but as I was only a kid I wouldnt have understood if it meant much then
